Special Base-4th Zone
Today, the Elders of the Special Base received a reprimand from the higher-ups of the human alliance. They have lost so genius students in the camp. It’s clearly a loss for them.
Almost all of them were S-Grade Talents. There were exceptions with a few A-Grade Tars. Losing even one of them is a huge blow to humankind.
The Beast Tars trained in the genius camp will be given important roles in the human alliance in the future.
They can beco governors of cities, hidden protectors, or explorers for the human population.
The human alliance has invested huge resources in them. Even rare, exotic resources which can’t be found easily elsewhere were allocated to the special base.
With the pouring in of such resources, the students here will grow faster. They will soon beco higher-tier beast tars.
Once they graduate, the next batch will be recruited. Because of this incident, so of the first-year students who were Tier-5 students have died.
Now the special base here has to replenish the numbers. Otherwise, they will be lagging behind the top three zones.
Then the resources could be tilted towards them. The higher-ups told them to fill the missing gap, and they have to do it fast.
Right now, most of the buildings have been renovated.
Inside the eting hall, more than ten elders were present. Elder John was present as well.
The Head of the special base here was an old woman. She is a Tier-8 Beast Tar. Her na is Sandra. It’s because of her that the casualties took place.
If she hadn’t taken half of the students away from the special base for special training, the Tier-9 Worm King wouldn’t have used the opportunity to target the special base.
She was the one most scolded by the higher-ups of the human alliance. As a punishnt, her resources were taken away. If she wanted more, she had to earn them herself.
The human alliance won’t provide for her for the ti being. Elder Sandra was quiet.
Seeing that, the other elders in the room were quiet as well. Though they were all Tier-8 Beast Tars, Elder Sandra is a veteran. She had fought countless battles.
Yet she received punishnt today. Initially, they had thought they were spared, but they learned from Elder Sandra that she was punished because she was the head of the special base here.
Elder Sandra felt the gazes of everyone. She collected her thoughts and looked at them. Her gaze was firm. She felt guilty towards the deceased.
She also felt anger towards the Tier-9 Worm King. The Tier-9 Worm King was not dead; it was severely injured. If the worm king ever appeared above the surface, she would definitely go alone to kill it.
Only then would she be relieved.
She took a breath before saying, "We need to fill the slots. Especially, the first-year slots are compulsory."
"There are 52 slots available. Each of you will take responsibility to find talented Beast Tars."
"There are Beast Tars who were not selected despite entering the genius rank. Start from there and then travel to other zones," she added.
Hearing that, the elders all agreed. Elder John was among the elders as well. His eyes flashed with a glint. He didn’t know why the image of the kid appeared in his mind.
But the young man was a Tier-3 Beast Tar. Everyone here would select Tier-5 Beast Tars first. If the talent was exceptional, then they would select Tier-4. But no one would select a Tier-3 Beast Tar.
Even if a Tier-3 Beast Tar has good talent, they would normally select him for the next year’s camp.
But Elder John thought that he needed to give a chance to the Tier-3 young man. Because the records were clear: the young man had killed Tier-5 beasts in the battle.
He had contributed to the base. He is more suitable to get selected.
Elder Sandra looked at everyone. She then noticed Elder John was pondering too much.
"Elder John, is sothing on your mind?" Sandra asked.
Hearing that, the others turned towards him as well.
Elder John didn’t want to hide it. He wanted the young man in the camp.
"Elder Sandra, a Tier-3 Beast Tar from the 5th Zone fought in the battle. He fought across Tiers to kill Tier-5 Corrupted beasts."
"I think the young man deserves to be here. If he grows, then he will kill Tier-6 and Tier-7 beasts in the future," Elder John said.
Hearing that, the others started discussing.
"I heard it was true. Many of the students witnessed it."
"To think he personally killed the Tier-5 beasts instead of his lifeline beast. Why didn’t he use his lifeline beast in the battle?"
"Yes, if the kid had used his lifeline beast in the battle, he would have killed more beasts."
Both positive and negative discussions took place. Elder Sandra listened to everyone.
The face of Elder John turned ugly. He didn’t expect so of the elders to act this way. He clearly saw through their actions.
He thought they were eager to bring in their descendants or people they knew to the camp.
Not only did he see through it, but Elder Sandra saw through it as well.
She said, "Stop it."
Quiet!
Hearing that, everyone shut their mouths.
"I know what you guys are thinking. I don’t want trash here. Already, genius students have died. If you bring more trash, they will just beco cannon fodder," she said in a cold tone.
Hearing that, the elders who thought of using their connections felt like their faces were being slapped. They felt ashad.
Sandra turned towards Elder John.
"Elder John, what do you think?" she asked.
Hearing that, Elder John explained his encounter with Jeremy Night.
A few minutes later,
"There was no need for him to enter the battlefield. He is a Tier-3 Beast Tar, yet he went out of his way to fight against the corrupted beasts."
"He didn’t leave until the battle was over. We need such young people in the camp. Seeing him, others will be motivated," John said.
Hearing about his experiences, everyone fell silent. Even the elders who had criticized earlier had a change of heart. Clearly, the young man’s inclusion would motivate others.
