"Not as one wishes?"
Xu Fan looked at Yunzhi's distressed face with a smile, appearing to be all ears.
Behind Xu Fan, Jiang Quan looked at Xu Fan with astonishnt, not expecting Xu Fan to also hold the position of host in the Buddhist Sect, while he sneered at Yunzhi. How many things in the world go as one wishes? Can a re phrase 'not as one wishes' resolve everything?
Yunzhi's face turned even more bitter.
Like the previous senior monks, those senior monks only knew they were caught between the Zen Master and the host, suffering greatly, and got beaten up by Jiang Quan. As for Yunzhi, he was caught between the host and the Buddha.
The position of host for Xu Fan was granted by the Buddha, so choosing between the two was not difficult, and naturally, Yunzhi chose to follow the Buddha's orders.
However, now standing before Xu Fan, Yunzhi regretted his decision.
Those senior monks rely took a beating, whereas Yunzhi, if unable to satisfy either side, could very well invite disaster upon himself! Although Xu Fan wore a smiling face, Yunzhi was very much aware of Xu Fan's terrifying nature!
With this thought, Yunzhi gritted his teeth, put on a sincere look, and whispered, "Host, this humble monk is just a small Zen Master. The group of senior monks below are rely ordinary disciples; how could they dare show the slightest disrespect to the host? Previously, the host ordered the Buddhist Sect to seal the mountain. This humble monk, along with nurous disciples, strictly adhered to the host's command, isolating the Buddhist Sect from the world..."
Xu Fan waved his hand, interrupting Yunzhi's nonsense, and said with a smile, "So the master has rembered my identity, and it must have been hard for you."
An ordinary sentence to Yunzhi sounded like a thunderclap.
Yunzhi had addressed Xu Fan as the host, yet Xu Fan still called him master! This address, rather than bringing joy to Yunzhi, made him feel like a stab in the heart!
Thud!
Yunzhi, terrified, knelt on the ground without hesitation, did not dare to beat around the bush, and promptly said, "Host, it was the Buddha's order! The Buddha..."
At this mont, a terrifying pressure suddenly enveloped the space, as if it had solidified, causing Yunzhi's voice to stop abruptly.
On one side was the Buddha, on the other the host; one was a mighty figure of the Kai Yang Realm, the other reputed to be a ruthless person who wiped out the Taoist sect, both people not to be offended!
Yunzhi felt like he was dancing on the edge of a knife, with the slightest mistake leading to his demise!
Fortunately, the Buddha had finally arrived!
At this mont, Yunzhi could hardly hold back his urge to cry out! Why can't you two great figures discuss things nicely? Even a big fight would be fine, but why trouble a minor figure like ?
Once, Xu Fan was rely a trivial pawn in Yunzhi's eyes, but now, Yunzhi sincerely regarded Xu Fan as a significant person.
Setting aside Yunzhi's complex emotions, the oppressive aura flashed and vanished, and a benevolent old monk approached with a smile, his wise eyes resting on Xu Fan.
Xu Fan still maintained a smiling expression, yet stood motionless, silent.
The Buddha and the host faced off, with Yunzhi kneeling beside them in apprehension, while Jiang Quan, rubbing his fists excitedly, seed eager for action.
Jiang Quan was well aware of Xu Fan's prowess; he didn't care about any Buddha, as even the Dark Council and the Church of Light had fallen into Xu Fan's hands, so re Buddhas were not a problem at all.
"Young Master Xu, we et again."
Pu Xian Buddha did not ntion Xu Fan being a host, starting instead with the title 'Young Master Xu.'
Pu Xian did not ntion it, and neither did Xu Fan; he just watched Pu Xian with a smile, saying nothing.
Xu Fan needed an explanation from Pu Xian Buddha, but he wouldn't angrily rebuke Pu Xian for not following the rules, nor would he accuse him of breaking promises.
Their statuses were already equal, and Xu Fan possibly even held a slightly higher position. Xu Fan only needed to stand here, and Pu Xian had to provide an explanation!
However, Pu Xian seed not inclined to be straightforward, as Pu Xian felt he understood Xu Fan, thus he always harbored so doubts about the rumors concerning Xu Fan.
At this mont, Pu Xian looked surprisingly at Yunzhi, kneeling on the ground as if seeing him for the first ti, "Master Yunzhi...what does this an? Did sothing happen between you and Young Master Xu?"
Yunzhi's heart turned cold.
Yunzhi had initially felt greatly relieved upon seeing Pu Xian arrive, but little did he expect Pu Xian to bring him forth again?
It was Pu Xian who had instructed him to provoke Xu Fan, and now Pu Xian was dragging him out again? While harboring imnse resentnt, Yunzhi dared not show it on his face. He nervously glanced at Xu Fan, awkwardly addressed Pu Xian, "This humble monk heard so noise earlier and rushed over, not expecting to encounter Young Master Xu. Though I have glimpsed Young Master Xu's brilliance before, witnessing it again, I am still amazed and admiring..."
In such an awkward situation, Yunzhi remained composed as he answered Pu Xian's question, while flattering both parties, striving not to offend either, sothing truly difficult for Yunzhi.
Xu Fan continued to smile silently, while Pu Xian began to harbor imnse resentnt towards Yunzhi.
Trying to offend neither often ends up offending one side, if not both.
Pu Xian brought Yunzhi forth to probe Xu Fan through him, not expecting Yunzhi to deliver such flattery. Rather than gaining insight into Xu Fan, he only ended up losing face himself.
With such thoughts in mind, Pu Xian still maintained a benevolent smile, "I see. This humble monk also was impressed by Young Master Xu's awe-inspiring presence. May I ask the purpose of your visit, Young Master Xu?"
Xu Fan continued to smile without speaking.
Behind Xu Fan, Jiang Quan boldly called out to Pu Xian, "Old monk, all the other monks in the Buddhist Sect call Mr. Xu the host, why do you refer to our gentleman as Young Master?"
Ordinarily, Mysterious Light Realm experts would be cowering before Kai Yang Realm experts, hardly daring to breathe, but Jiang Quan felt no fear as a young calf unafraid of the tiger.
Pu Xian glanced at Jiang Quan, his expression unchanged, "So you are a friend from the West."
In fact, Pu Xian had long discerned Jiang Quan's identity, though puzzled and uncertain in his heart.
The rumor of Xu Fan being a descendant of Li Long caused an uproar in the previous assembly, which Pu Xian originally doubted. However, seeing Jiang Quan, a Mysterious Light Realm mber of the Blood Clan, obeying Xu Fan, troubled him greatly.
Could it be that Xu Fan truly has noble origins? Had he been holding back while in the Buddhist Sect? If not, why would a mber of the Blood Clan from the Dark Council obey Xu Fan?
A multitude of thoughts crisscrossed his mind, yet Pu Xian betrayed not a trace of them. At this mont, Pu Xian sighed, expressing the sa reluctance Yunzhi previously did, "Young Master Xu, this is a long story, and this humble monk is also helpless in this matter..."
anwhile, Yunzhi was already dumbfounded.
