Gina Sutton’s face looked a little unpleasant, standing there stiffly, awkward and unsure how to respond.
If she called him, wouldn’t that be falling into the trap Sumr Sutton had set?
But just a mont ago, she was pretending to be all sisterly with Sumr!
She had already called Sumr "sister," so isn’t it only natural to call Adrian Walyon "brother-in-law"?
Adrian didn’t expect Sumr to suddenly say such a thing.
He leisurely watched her, his lips curling slightly.
This woman really has a way!
Great, he liked this side of Sumr!
Gina remained silent for a long ti after Sumr’s words.
Sumr assud she wouldn’t be able to say it, ignored her, and went upstairs.
Annoyed that Sumr had just embarrassed her, seeing only Sumr going upstairs, Gina followed.
She originally intended to mock Sumr when they were alone, but when she got upstairs, the bedroom was empty.
The bathroom light was on, and there was the sound of running water; it seed Sumr was doing sothing inside.
Gina stood at the bedroom door for a while, intending to wait for her to co out.
But when her eyes swept across the room and landed on the dressing table, she froze.
On the dressing table was a ring, small and its design unremarkable, very simple.
However, the diamond inlaid on the band was valuable, judging by the color alone.
It was the wedding ring of Sumr and Adrian.
Since getting married, Sumr always wore it, only taking it off for baths or when her hands needed to touch things like face wash or hand cream.
Gina often saw Sumr wearing the ring and knew it must an a lot to her.
After quietly staring at the ring for a mont, she tiptoed inside, quietly took the ring, and left the room silently.
Downstairs, acting as if nothing had happened, she continued chatting with Diana Wood in the living room.
"Gina, where did you just go?" Diana asked casually.
"I just casually toured the house," Gina smiled and said.
Unaware of what had transpired, Diana continued chatting with her.
...
Sumr stayed in the bathroom for a while, coming out just as it was ti for lunch.
A servant ca upstairs to convey the ssage that everyone was already at the dining table, waiting for her.
Afraid that her family would wait too long, Sumr went downstairs directly after coming out.
Dinners at the Walyons were always lively.
The Suttons had lunch with the Walyons, and during the al, Gina acted as if nothing had happened, chatting and laughing with Diana.
Sumr and Gina never really got along, and her cold deanor towards Gina was quite obvious.
Ignoring her, Sumr ate her al quietly.
After lunch, Sophie Walyon pulled her away to play so gas, and Sumr still hadn’t thought about the ring.
It wasn’t until the evening, when she was getting ready to take a shower before bed, that she habitually went to remove the ring and discovered her left ring finger was bare.
Upon looking at the dressing table where she previously placed the ring, there was nothing there.
Sumr was dumbfounded on the spot.
Adrian didn’t seem to notice the issue yet; once he returned to the room, he began to hold her inappropriately, burying his face in her neck and kissing her lightly and deeply.
Sumr was in no mood for such things, her mind entirely occupied with the missing wedding ring.
She rembered placing the ring on the dressing table at noon.
How could it be gone?
Was she mistaken?
Adrian seed displeased with her lack of focus, suddenly biting her forcefully.
