"I’m here with a friend," Sumr Sutton explained simply.
"Even when you’re accompanying friends, try to co less!" Ryan Walyon was almost interfering with her actions, but his attitude toward today’s matter was very firm.
His tone was even sowhat overbearing.
Sumr Sutton was taken aback, staring at him in surprise, a bit shocked by the way he spoke.
Not far away, a young man was walking toward them.
Upon seeing Ryan Walyon, he started greeting him before getting close, "Young Master Evans, you’re here!"
Arriving next to the two, he looked Sumr Sutton up and down, examining her for a while, and then chuckled, "Yo, which family’s girl is this? She’s really pretty."
The man’s tone was roguish, and he reached out, intending to touch Sumr Sutton’s face.
Ryan Walyon shot him a cold glance and casually said, "Lucius Boxley, do you still want that land in the West District?"
He spoke coldly, and though his tone didn’t seem overly angry, it made a chill run down one’s spine.
Lucius Boxley was a discerning person; as nonchalant as he was, he wouldn’t provoke people he shouldn’t.
"Of course I want it! Why wouldn’t I?" He chuckled, quickly retracting his hand, "I better go ride my horse!"
With that, he quickly vanished from sight.
Ryan Walyon turned his head and walked towards the changing area.
After a few steps, he glanced sideways at Sumr Sutton, then returned and said, "Since you’re here, co help !"
"Oh, sure." Sumr Sutton was a bit afraid of running into unruly people again, so Ryan Walyon’s request was a tily rescue.
Without hesitating much, she quickly followed him.
Ryan Walyon first went to the dressing room to change into riding gear. After coming out, he casually grabbed a bottle of water from a server and tossed it to her, while he bent down to choose a horse in the stable.
"How have you been lately?" His actions were unhurried as he picked and inquired about Sumr Sutton’s recent situation.
"I’ve been good." Sumr Sutton answered him.
Ryan Walyon turned his head to look at her, remained silent for a while after she spoke, and then suddenly asked, "In need of money lately?"
Sumr Sutton was stunned, initially not understanding what he ant.
She remained dumbfounded for a while before she realized.
He thought she was appearing in such a place filled with the idle rich to play with these people and earn tips?
"Ryan, you misunderstood! It’s not what you think." Sumr Sutton felt belittled and quickly explained, "I’m here to protect Ariella Sawyer! You know Ariella, right? She’s an artist from our studio. It’s not safe for her to co alone."
"You? Protect her?" Ryan Walyon raised an eyebrow at her, his gaze scanning her delicate, almost breakably thin fra as if he’d heard a joke.
"..." Sumr Sutton felt a bit awkward and sheepishly added, "Using my brain."
In such a place, if sothing happens, isn’t an extra person just another brain to think of ways?
"You think too simply of n," Ryan Walyon tossed her a remark and continued choosing his horse.
Picking a slightly smaller one, he looked at her and asked, "Ever ridden a horse?"
Sumr Sutton shook her head.
"Want to try?" Ryan Walyon led out a slightly smaller horse, gently smoothing its back.
Sumr Sutton looked at the white horse, saying nothing.
"Co on, I’ll teach you!" Ryan Walyon said, leading the horse as he walked toward the green field.
