"You finally ca! I’ve waited for you for so long, I thought after all this ti, you wouldn’t search for anymore..." She held the person beside her tightly, throwing herself into his arms, burying her head deep in his chest, and clutching the sleeve of his arm, seemingly a bit emotional.
As she spoke, her voice suddenly choked up.
"Adrian, so many things have happened lately, but fortunately, you’re here! Fortunately!"
Adrian stiffly raised his arms, his strong and powerful arms hugging her tightly, almost embedding Sumr Sutton completely into his bones.
His chin rested on the top of her head, gently rubbing it again and again, and his voice was incredibly gentle, "How could I give up searching? You haven’t waited for yet, how could I not co?"
Adrian wouldn’t tell her how he had managed over the past month.
For virtually this entire month, he hadn’t slept well.
Every ti his eyes closed, he would always dream of her in the cold seawater.
Or perhaps curled up alone in so corner, waiting for him to co fetch her.
Just the thought of these monts made Adrian lose all sleepiness, instantly waking up again.
Unable to sleep after waking, he didn’t care what ti it was, imdiately getting up to organize people to search for her.
Sumr stood on her tiptoes, slender arms tightly holding his neck, burying her face in the crook of his neck, just hugging him, feeling his body warmth for a while, confirming that the person she was holding was real, she suddenly released him again.
Manuel Ink was still by the seaside, Sumr was worried.
"I have a friend who’s very dangerous right now, Adrian, you must help !" Grabbing Adrian’s hand, Sumr pulled him towards the comrcial district’s exit.
She walked hurriedly, as if there was sothing extrely urgent.
Adrian and she had been separated for so long, they were just eting again, yet, Sumr hadn’t asked him why he appeared there, about the recent situation, or anything about ho.
She didn’t ask anything, and her first reaction after coming back to her senses was to pull Adrian and lead him towards the seaside.
Adrian squinted his eyes, quietly watching her.
As they walked, he suddenly asked, "Who is the person you need to save?"
Sumr was suddenly dumbstruck by his question.
She didn’t know Manuel Ink’s identity.
"A man?" Adrian asked imdiately.
This was what he was concerned about.
"..." Sumr remained silent without responding.
Adrian knew he guessed correctly, his face suddenly turned cold.
A wife he hadn’t seen in a month was now eagerly pulling him to save another man?
Adrian didn’t say anything, but pulled her by the hand in the opposite direction.
"I can’t leave!" Sumr dragged him back, insisting, "Adrian, I must go back to save him! I owe him!"
To Sumr, Manuel Ink was more than just a friend.
In just this one month, he had saved her four tis.
She owed him four lives!
He saved her once at sea, and the first ti she was chased by a French man, he blocked three bullets for her, today, she managed to escape alive, thanks again to Manuel Ink!
If it wasn’t for Manuel Ink, she wouldn’t be able to stand here now, wouldn’t be able to wait for Adrian!
Adrian stood stiffly in place, just looking at her coldly, without making any movent.
To save a man, a man who made his wife anxious, Adrian couldn’t do it!
