Diana Wood specifically invited Lorraine Hughes over to the house, actually wanting to see if Adrian Walyon might develop any fondness for her after more contact.
But unexpectedly, as soon as she walked through the door, she was imdiately mocked by Adrian Walyon’s brothers.
"Sophie Walyon, I told you to shut up!" Diana was so angry she couldn’t hold back anymore. She grabbed Sophie Walyon, intending to give her a good scolding, but was stopped by Lorraine Hughes.
Diana was taken aback, surprised to see Lorraine Hughes.
Lorraine Hughes smiled softly, and there wasn’t a trace of the embarrassnt or awkwardness Diana imagined on her face.
Squatting down, she looked at Sophie Walyon with an extrely friendly gaze, not at all angry with Sophie for her recent rudeness.
Her hand fell on Sophie’s shoulder, and Lorraine didn’t even refute her words, "Little handso guy, you’re absolutely right. But you know, getting married isn’t that simple; at least you have to find soone you like, right?"
Her attitude was always kind and amiable, and she spoke gently. This was what a lady of a noble family should be like.
Diana watched from the side with particular satisfaction.
This girl was truly magnanimous!
She just couldn’t understand why Adrian didn’t see the good in such a person.
Sophie Walyon thought carefully about her words. Lorraine Hughes initially thought she had persuaded him, but unexpectedly, he shook his head.
"Not necessarily. Feelings are sothing that can be cultivated over ti, can’t they? Falling in love at first sight is just liking a face; it’s too shallow! True affection should develop after getting to know soone!"
He spoke with a well-reasoned logic, having very distinct insights of his own.
Indirectly, he even encouraged Lorraine Hughes to go on a blind date first and then slowly get to know the person later.
In Sophie’s view, it didn’t matter who Lorraine Hughes ended up with, as long as she didn’t like Adrian.
It was Lorraine’s first encounter with Sophie, and she clearly hadn’t expected the kid to be so difficult to deal with.
Diana had reached her limit with Sophie. She grabbed him, dragged him upstairs to his room, tossed him in, and slamd the door shut.
"Stay in your room! Don’t co out until you’ve reflected on your actions tonight!"
Dropping that line in a fit of anger, Diana returned downstairs.
She had intended to have a nice chat with Lorraine but hadn’t expected Sophie to pop up in front of her again within five minutes.
Adrian had let him out.
"Oh my, what shocking things have I said to make you so mad, mom? Did I hit a nerve?" Sophie Walyon snarked, hands behind his back, circling around Diana and Lorraine.
Diana took a deep breath, pointing upstairs and shouting at him, "Sophie Walyon, disappear from my sight in three seconds!"
"Didn’t you give birth to ? Why did you have if you want to disappear?" Sophie huffed and didn’t take her words seriously, leaving Diana with a scowl as he leisurely went to find sothing to eat.
He carried a small plate of food over to the table where Sumr Sutton and Adrian Walyon sat. Erasing the previous coldness while speaking to Lorraine, he smiled brightly at Sumr Sutton.
"Wasn’t I aweso just now?"
"Aweso, aweso, my Sophie is always aweso!" Sumr Sutton praised him with a thumbs-up.
"Exactly!" Sophie paused for a mont and then added, "So, in the future, if my brother’s kid is a boy, he’ll be just as aweso as I was today, protecting Mom along with Dad, and whenever a woman cos to the house, he’ll surely make her forget who she is!"
