He paused for a mont, then suddenly changed his tone, "The Hughes Family’s background is not too shabby, yet Miss Hughes is willing to be soone’s backup, plus a tool for childbirth?"
Lorraine Hughes stared blankly at him, seemingly not expecting him to speak so blatantly in front of so many people.
Backup, tool for childbirth — what woman would be happy to hear that?
Her face turned sowhat pale, even with carefully applied makeup, it was still clearly visible.
Adrian Walyon glanced sideways at her, thought for a mont, and corrected his wording, "Oh, no, marrying a man who doesn’t love you, is not even worthy of being a tool for childbirth! In the end, you’re nothing but the object of everyone’s pity, can Miss Hughes bear such gazes from others?"
"Adrian, that’s enough!" Diana Wood felt his words were incredibly harsh, and she sternly rebuked him.
Lorraine Hughes was dumbstruck for quite a while after Adrian’s words, her facial expression changed multiple tis within seconds, and then she calmly forced a smile.
She didn’t seem upset by Adrian’s words at all, as if she didn’t care about them, "Young Master Walyon is joking, you and your wife are doing fine now, how could I possibly interfere? Auntie’s words, you shouldn’t take them seriously, she was just speaking out of imbalance in her heart. Everyone can see how well she treats her daughter-in-law, even on snowy days, she personally delivers food to her. How could she be soone who only wants a grandchild without caring for the daughter-in-law?"
Even after Adrian spoke so harshly, her face showed no anger at all, as if she didn’t mind his words at all.
Her speech made Diana Wood particularly relieved and helped her out of a tight spot.
With so many people on site, leaving an overly ruthless impression in front of outsiders is never good.
"Better be so." Adrian Walyon sneered coldly, walked past her without expression, and went straight to Sumr Sutton not far away.
Sumr Sutton obviously heard everything just now.
Adrian was sowhat worried that Diana’s words might affect her mood, but to his surprise, she showed no reaction at all.
As Adrian approached, she casually threw him a sentence, "Honey, there are too many people at ho; I still prefer quieter environnts. After the baby is born, let’s move back to Morning Garden!"
Her volu was just right, allowing Diana Wood to hear it clearly.
Diana Wood looked at her incredulously, her face instantly changed.
Move out as soon as the baby is born?
What does that an?
Does she not know how much she expects and loves her grandchild?
Isn’t this deliberately not wanting herself to have more ti with the child?
If the child is truly born, Diana feels that if she doesn’t see her grandchild for a few days, she’d probably go mad!
Her shocked gaze shifted to Adrian Walyon as Diana watched his reaction.
She hoped Adrian would reject Sumr Sutton’s proposal, but clearly felt disappointed.
Since marrying Sumr Sutton, Adrian has never turned down any of her requests and naturally wasn’t going to refuse this one.
Without any hesitation, Adrian nodded, "Okay!"
Diana glared at the two, her eyes reddened with anger.
Not letting her see her grandson every day is like digging into her heart!
"You two are ruthless!" She threw a sentence at the couple, feeling chest tightness from anger, leaving the banquet and heading straight upstairs.
