Sumr Sutton lay with her eyes closed, still asleep, unaware if she heard what he said.
Adrian Walyon held her tightly, continuously rubbing her arms to keep her warm.
As ti passed by slowly, Adrian’s heart remained in suspense as he waited for Sumr’s condition to improve.
Outside the door, Lorraine Hughes suddenly spoke up.
"Young Master Walyon, is Miss Sutton alright?"
"There’s no need for concern," Adrian responded coldly.
Lorraine didn’t leave.
She seed a bit embarrassed, remained silent for a mont, then cautiously asked, "Does Miss Sutton have a baby?"
Adrian’s gaze turned rigid toward the door, suddenly growing cold.
There was a quiet mont outside, then Lorraine’s voice echoed again, "My mom used to be a doctor. She resigned after marriage, but she still has experience. She was a top student at a famous dical university, studied herbal dicine."
Adrian was montarily stunned, his cold deanor still unchanged.
He was waiting for what Lorraine would say next.
"I’ve seen my mom treat people sotis, I think I can help Miss Sutton," Lorraine tried again.
Adrian continued to hold Sumr without replying.
"Herbal dicine would suffice, dications that won’t harm the baby. It’s convenient being on the mountain, maybe I can find so. If needed, I can go and look," Lorraine suggested, still outside.
Adrian was highly alert; not ntioning Lorraine as Diana Wood’s potential daughter-in-law, he wasn’t familiar enough with her to entrust Sumr and the baby’s safety to Lorraine.
"No need," he tossed her a light remark, continuing to ignore it.
"Is it that Young Master Walyon doesn’t trust ?" Lorraine guessed his thoughts accurately.
"I can gather the herbs, and Young Master Walyon can have the hotel staff brew them. Before Miss Sutton drinks it, you can even test if it’s safe," Lorraine proposed again.
Inside, Adrian remained silent.
Lorraine took Adrian’s silence as consent, took an umbrella, and went out with the hotel staff.
The mountain is an excellent place for gathering herbs, she didn’t take long, and upon returning, she handed the herbs to the hotel staff, letting them handle all the procedures.
Once brewed, the hotel staff delivered the dicine to Adrian.
Adrian stared at it but didn’t give it to Sumr.
Considering Lorraine had no relation to Sumr, why would she go out at night in the rain to gather herbs to brew for her?
Such attentiveness only heightened Adrian’s vigilance.
If sothing went wrong with the dicine, causing harm to Sumr or the baby, Adrian couldn’t bear the consequences.
Lorraine didn’t linger outside the room and returned to rest after gathering the herbs.
Adrian ignored the bowl of dicine, continued to hold Sumr, comforting her by her ear throughout the night.
As dawn approached, Sumr woke up on her own.
The abdominal pain seed to have eased; having slept while leaning on Adrian all night, she didn’t feel entirely comfortable. Her neck was painfully stiff, but her complexion looked much better.
This condition finally allowed Adrian to breathe a sigh of relief.
The rain outside had stopped, and as soon as the mountain road cleared, they could return to the city.
Adrian called the doctor to examine Sumr again.
Though not an obstetrician, the doctor wasn’t very professional with the checkup; however, since Sumr wasn’t feeling blocked and hadn’t experienced any bleeding, it seed there was nothing to worry about.
"Continue taking dicine," the doctor advised Adrian, intending to leave but was stopped by him.
