The kitchen of a place where a single man with a leg injury lives surely wouldn’t have anything in it.
Sumr Sutton rummaged through the kitchen for a while, found nothing, and then left with the car keys. "I’m going to check if there’s a supermarket nearby to buy so groceries."
The sound of the automatic gate closing slowly ca from the garden, followed by the engine of a car starting.
Sumr Sutton left afterward and reappeared at the villa more than half an hour later.
She entered the kitchen with bags of groceries and busily started preparing dinner.
Since this villa was bought, the kitchen had almost never been used.
Sumr Sutton’s arrival brought a sense of life here for the first ti.
While bustling around, the sounds were jingling and clanging, but they didn’t seem noisy. Instead, they gave off a long-lost sense of warmth.
Sumr Sutton prepared a very hearty dinner, purchasing ingredients mostly aid at promoting wound healing, along with a few vegetables.
She made soup, braised dishes, and stead and stir-fried ones. By the ti everything was served, there were six dishes in total, enough for two people.
"Dinner’s ready!" After serving the soup, she called to the man still in the living room.
Since she got here, she felt right at ho, as if she were the lady of the villa.
The man turned his head to gaze at her for a while, then slowly wheeled himself over.
Sumr Sutton helped him sit down and sat beside him. She served him so food, "Takeout may be convenient, but it’s never as good as homade. How about I co by every day to prepare three als for you?"
For many, her offer would be an enormous temptation.
Her cooking skills weren’t bad; they could even be considered good. Free als—who wouldn’t want that?
However, the man pursed his thin lips and curtly said, "No need."
Sumr Sutton slightly pouted and said nothing more, continuing to serve him food.
Watching him raise the bowl and eat all the food she served, she suddenly quipped, "How’s the taste? Pretty good, right? Doesn’t it taste familiar and nostalgic?"
Her words were quite shaless...
The man seed slightly choked by her words, his expression turning slightly unnatural.
After taking a sip of water to calm himself, he casually replied, "I don’t understand what Miss Sutton ans."
"It’s okay, as long as you understand in your heart." Sumr Sutton smiled lightly and started eating her al casually with chopsticks.
As they ate, she couldn’t help but serve him more food again. "You need to recover quickly. Once you’re healed, everything will be more convenient."
At this mont, she sounded like a little wife.
The man glanced at her out of the corner of his eye but said nothing this ti.
The two quietly finished their al. Sumr Sutton washed the dishes in the kitchen, then returned to his side in the living room.
Looking at the spiral staircase, she raised a question she was concerned about, "By the way, with your leg injury, how do you manage the stairs?"
The man, with his back to her, said nothing.
This villa didn’t even have a servant.
Since he wasn’t answering, Sumr Sutton could only imagine.
Like earlier when he opened the door, did he stand up and struggle upstairs?
Just imagining that scene made Sumr Sutton feel an intense pain.
Shaking the thought from her mind, she squatted in front of him, her hand gently resting on his leg, "How about I move in and live with you?"
As she looked at him, her eyes sparkled brightly.
