Old Master Winslow was still chatting with Sumr Sutton, even setting a ti for her to co over for dinner again.
Lily Winslow, listening nearby, almost jumped up in protest.
Watt Bennet was obviously distracted tonight. At first, he could still exchange a few words with the guests surrounding him.
Later on, he just couldn’t be bothered to deal with anyone trying to make small talk, and he strode straight towards Sumr Sutton’s direction.
When he reached them, Old Master Winslow was just asking Sumr Sutton about her thoughts on Alexander Winslow.
"Maid Sutton, what do you think of our Alexander?" he asked with a gentle smile.
Watt’s gaze swept coldly in Sumr Sutton’s direction, his hand gripping the wheelchair’s armrest tightly.
He looked at Sumr Sutton with a gaze as chilling as ice, as if, should she dare nod and praise Alexander, he would rush over and strangle her.
Sumr Sutton knew he was not far from her, but she didn’t look at him.
"I think..." Her red lips moved slightly, her tone gentle, "Alexander is quite good."
Watt watched this scene coldly, his sharp eyes emitting a trace of malice.
Sumr Sutton paused for a mont, then added, "Only a very good girl would be worthy of him."
"I think you’re quite good," Old Master Winslow replied even more directly.
"?" Sumr Sutton smiled at his words, her voice calm and unhurried.
Watt’s heart rose with her words, and the cold aura around him intensified, prepared to drag her away directly. But then, Sumr Sutton casually said, "I’m already married."
"Oh, really?" Old Master was sowhat shocked, adjusting his glasses, his eyes wide open.
Lily Winslow was also taken aback, looking at her in disbelief.
Watt quietly listened to her words, his anger slightly subsiding.
He was initially sowhat relieved, but then Sumr Sutton followed up with, "My ex-husband is deceased."
The softened lines of Watt’s face imdiately frosted over again.
He didn’t mind the word "deceased" regarding Sumr Sutton’s ex-husband, as that’s what everyone was led to believe about Adrian Walyon.
What he minded were the words "ex-husband"!
Old Master seed frozen in disbelief, unable to process the shock Sumr Sutton kept presenting.
Alexander Winslow seed quite calm, as if he already understood everything.
Watt stood nearby, but Sumr Sutton didn’t look his way. Rising, she slowly headed towards the champagne tower.
Pouring herself a glass, Sumr Sutton took a sip and then turned, intending to find a quiet place to sit for a while. But she was blocked by a figure in front of her.
Sumr Sutton paused for a mont, looking ahead in surprise.
Watt stood in front of her, his eyes fixed on hers without blinking.
He examined her gaze ticulously, as if intending to see through all of her emotions.
"Mr. Bennet, is sothing wrong?" Sumr Sutton t his gaze impassively, her tone indifferent.
Watt said nothing, pulling her hand roughly and dragging her towards the Winslow Family garden.
His strength was considerable, and despite his injury, he was so dominant that Sumr Sutton could not resist.
"If you have sothing to say, say it here!" Sumr Sutton struggled to free her hand from his grip, annoyed when she couldn’t.
Raising her arm to hit him, Watt conveniently caught her wrist, giving it a slight tug, and Sumr Sutton lost her balance, falling right into his embrace...
