Now reading: Chapter 27 — The Label Called “Approved” from Shadow Ascension system, a Action novel by Nazareth.

The Council Chamber doors opened again.

Not with ceremony.

But with dismissal.

Kael and Reyn were escorted out under quiet supervision, the suppression field fading behind them like a closing wound.

The mont they stepped into the corridor, the air felt lighter.

But not safer.

Reyn stretched his shoulders once.

“…That was boring.”

Kael didn’t respond imdiately.

He was still processing the chamber’s mana structure.

The system flickered faintly.

Kael’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“…It changed.”

Reyn glanced at him.

“What changed?”

Kael replied quietly.

“…Sothing noticed noticing it.”

Reyn frowned.

“…That doesn’t even make sense.”

Kael kept walking.

“…It doesn’t need to.”

Academy Corridor — After Council Verdict

Lyra was waiting outside.

Her arms were folded.

Her expression was not relief.

It was concern.

“…You both look like you survived sothing unnecessary.”

Reyn waved slightly.

“Because we did.”

Kael stopped beside her.

Lyra looked at him more closely.

“…They didn’t punish you.”

Kael shook his head.

“…They observed.”

Lyra sighed.

“That’s worse.”

Reyn leaned against the wall.

“They called us ‘approved subjects.’”

Lyra blinked.

“…Approved?”

Reyn smirked.

“…ans they don’t know what to do with us yet.”

Kael added calmly.

“…Or they’re waiting.”

Lyra frowned.

“For what?”

Kael looked forward.

“…For us to show what we beco.”

Silence followed that.

Far above the academy grounds, in a sealed observation vault, another group watched silently.

Not the Council.

Sothing older.

More cautious.

A masked figure spoke.

“…The anomaly is stabilizing.”

Another voice responded.

“And the wind heir?”

“…Contained for now.”

A pause.

Then—

“Both were allowed to continue?”

The masked figure nodded slightly.

“…The Council believes observation is safer than elimination.”

A long silence followed.

Then a final voice:

“…They are wrong.”

Academy Grounds — Night Transition

The sky above the academy darkened.

Training fields emptied.

Shadows stretched longer between buildings.

Kael stood alone near the edge of a quiet walkway.

Lyra had gone to report sothing.

Reyn had disappeared sowhere else entirely.

Kael exhaled slowly.

The system flickered again.

Environntal State: Stable

Host Cognitive Load: Elevated

Shadow Integration Phase: Increasing

New Directive Detected: Observe Academy Hierarchy

====================

Kael tilted his head slightly.

“…Hierarchy.”

Before he could think further—

A presence approached.

Not aggressive.

Not hidden.

But deliberate.

Footsteps.

Slow.

Confident.

Kael turned slightly.

A group of students stood at the end of the walkway.

Different uniforms.

Higher-tier insignias.

Upper-year students.

The one in front smiled faintly.

“…So you’re the new ‘approved anomaly.’”

Kael didn’t respond.

The student continued.

“We saw your evaluation.”

Another stepped forward.

“…Impressive tricks.”

A third added quietly.

“…But academy rules still apply.”

Kael watched them silently.

The system flickered.

Multiple Targets

====================

Kael exhaled.

“…I see.”

The lead student tilted his head.

“…You understand your place now?”

Kael replied calmly.

“…No.”

A pause.

Then—

“…But I understand yours.”

Silence.

The air shifted slightly.

The upper-year students frowned.

“…What did you say?”

Kael stepped forward once.

Just one step.

Shadow moved under his feet.

Not aggressive.

Just present.

“…You exist above others in a structure that hasn’t been challenged.”

A pause.

“…That makes you predictable.”

The lead student’s smile faded slightly.

“…Confident words for soone who just arrived.”

Kael replied softly.

“…I arrived broken.”

A pause.

“…That’s why I’m dangerous.”

The lead student’s expression darkened.

“…Teach him respect.”

BOOM.

One of them moved instantly.

Fast.

A mana-enhanced strike aid at Kael’s shoulder.

But Kael didn’t dodge.

Not imdiately.

He watched the motion.

System flickered.

Shadow Step.

WHOOSH.

The strike missed completely.

Kael reappeared behind the attacker.

A short silence.

Then—

A shadow flick.

BOOM.

The student was thrown back into the wall.

Gasps.

“What?!”

“He didn’t even cast anything!”

The lead student’s eyes widened slightly.

“…So it’s like that.”

Kael looked at them calmly.

“…Yes.”

The remaining students shifted.

Tension rising.

But Kael didn’t continue.

He simply stood there.

Because this wasn’t a fight he needed.

It was information.

The injured student groaned on the ground.

The others hesitated.

The lead student slowly raised his hand.

“…We’ll rember this.”

Kael replied quietly.

“…Good.”

A pause.

Then the group left.

Not defeated.

But recalculating.

Lyra arrived just as they disappeared.

“…What happened?”

Kael didn’t turn.

“…A misunderstanding.”

Lyra narrowed her eyes.

“That didn’t look like misunderstanding.”

Kael replied calmly.

“…It wasn’t.”

The system flickered again.

Kael looked at the fading footsteps of the upper-year students.

Then quietly said:

“…Now I know how the academy protects its structure.”

Lyra frowned.

“And?”

Kael turned slightly.

“…Structures always have weak points.”

Above them, the academy lights flickered faintly.

And sowhere deep within the system—

Sothing began recording Kael differently again.
