Capítulo 1351: Chapter 478: Faith (4)

“There won’t be any problem, I’ll support you.”

Augie reached out to support Su Ming, saying with a cheerful smile.

“Hmm.”

With Augie’s assistance, Su Ming walked toward the outer door.

Once they stepped out of the shabby house, the view instantly broadened.

Su Ming glanced around; they were situated in a ten-square-kiloter underground cavern, filled with houses made of scrap tal and rock. The cavern’s ceiling was embedded with a large lighting device and old life support chanical equipnt.

The turbid air was laced with a pungent odor.

Moreover, the cavern’s walls were riddled with various passages, leading to other caverns.

In fact, the entire underground city was composed of hundreds of such small caverns, structurally no different from a monster nest.

Yet even in such dire conditions, the place was densely packed with countless houses and residents.

“This way!”

Augie guided Su Ming along a path ahead.

As they walked, Su Ming noticed many won sitting at their house entrances, so holding young children, occasionally looking at passing pedestrians.

Occasionally, a robust man would step forward to exchange a few words with them, then walk into the house together.

Su Ming continued walking with Augie when he saw a raggedly dressed man kneeling silently in prayer, occasionally kissing the ground.

Besides this, the roadside had nurous erected crosses from which individuals and skeletons hung.

Su Ming frowned at this scene but didn’t question Augie.

After a long ti, Augie supported Su Ming to a very secluded abandoned warehouse.

In the middle of the warehouse stood a black mass of flesh, with an ejected cockpit lying on the ground in front, surrounded by overturned chas.

“Support over there!”

Su Ming said to Augie.

“I, I don’t dare….”

Augie replied fearfully.

“It’s okay, it won’t harm you.”

Su Ming assured Augie.

After hesitating at Su Ming’s words, Augie finally gathered the courage to support him toward the black mass of flesh.

Soon they stood before the black mass.

“Ilyas!”

Su Ming weakly called out.

The black fleshy mass gave no response.

Su Ming tried calling out a few more tis, but unfortunately got the sa result; Ilyas remained unresponsive.

Su Ming’s head throbbed; if he guessed correctly, Ilyas should be in a dormant state, and he had no idea when she would awaken.

Su Ming took a deep breath and said to Augie.

“Help to the cockpit.”

“Okay!”

Augie promptly assisted Su Ming to the cockpit.

Soon they reached the cockpit, where Su Ming slowly crawled inside, fumbled for the chanical switch, and pressed it.

Click!

A tal chanical column rose.

Su Ming retrieved Celeste and softly called out.

“Celeste!”

Celeste also didn’t respond, and her entire light computer was dim and dull.

Su Ming’s face grew even grimr at this sight; indeed, when it rains, it pours. Even at the crucial mont, Celeste had run out of power.

“Sir, what’s that?”

Augie asked curiously, looking at Su Ming.

“Nothing, I just want to sit for a while.”

Su Ming sat down slowly on the ground, quietly gazing at the sleeping Ilyas.

Augie stood obediently to the side.

Ti passed slowly, and after an unknown period, suddenly a muffled bell sounded.

Hearing the bell, Augie excitedly said to Su Ming.

“Sir, the bell has rung, we need to hurry.”

“Hurry? To where?”

Su Ming asked Augie in confusion.

“Of course, to the square to worship the God. It’s a rare opportunity. You must know the square is usually closed, only opening on prayer days; if you go late, there won’t be any space.”

As Augie assisted Su Ming out of the warehouse, he explained to him.

“Oh.”

Su Ming suddenly felt intrigued.

Shortly after, Su Ming and Augie arrived at the central square of the residential area.

In contrast to the impoverished and ssy residential area, the entire square was paved with neat white tiles, kept very clean and tidy.

In the center of the square stood a twenty-ter-tall statue, grasping a spear planted in the ground with its right hand, clad in formidable armor, wearing a silent crown, its features indistinguishable.

Soldiers clad in Exoskeleton Armor, holding beam guns, surrounded the statue.

A dense crowd of people gathered in the square, all kneeling simultaneously.

Su Ming stared at the erected statue, montarily puzzled; though the statue’s features were unclear, he recognized it at once—it was his own statue.

At that mont, Augie devoutly knelt, and seeing Su Ming still standing, urgently said.

“Sir, kneel quickly!”

Seeing Augie so anxious, Su Ming awkwardly knelt as well; kneeling to himself wasn’t too humiliating, though it felt sowhat odd.

Relieved upon seeing Su Ming kneel, Augie whispered.

“Sir, when praying later, you must be sincere. Only then will the God bless us and fulfill our wishes.”

“Huh? The God isn’t a wishing well; how can everything be fulfilled?”

Su Ming said with a wry smile.

“The God is omnipotent.”

Augie firmly replied.

“Alright, Augie, what’s your wish?”

“My wish is to eat bread.”

“That’s a nice wish.”

“Sir, you have to believe in the God; only then will the God bless you with restored health.”

“Alright, I believe. Augie, is your God called Hygge?”
