The Elven King wasted no ti in gathering the high elf nobles.
That just went to show how interested he was in the offer that I made him and at the sa ti, it went to show how interested the high elves were.
In the first place, this was most likely their goal in getting closer to our Kite Kingdom.
After all, there was no reason for the elves to be friendly with humans unless there was sothing that they wanted.
After learning about how they were corrupted by greed, it made even more sense that they would want to get closer to the object that they desired.
As such, they had no qualms about inviting the Kite Kingdom's group to the Elven Kingdom.
During this ti, I made contact with the High Priestess with the secret thod that she handed to . This was a thod that could go past the surveillance that they set up because it was a thod that relied on the power of a god.
This was a power that relied on the plants themselves to pass on a ssage.
It wasn't as effective since the elves had built these stone buildings, but it wasn't as if it was enough to stop this thod that used the power of the gods.
The power of the gods wasn't sothing to be looked down on.
Once that was done, all that was left was to wait for the feast to start.
…
"Your majesty, please follow us." The maids said after coming into my room.
I had been waiting here because the Elven King had told that today was the day of the feast.
Since I was a guest, it wasn't as if I was involved with the preparations of the feast. The only thing that I had to do was wait until the feast began and they ca to get , which was what happened now.
Once the maids ca, I followed them out to find a luxurious carriage waiting for .
I couldn't help slightly knitting my brows seeing this as it was still disturbing to see what the elves had beco, but I put those feelings aside as I entered the carriage with Klein.
Since I had made that offer to the Elven King, the treatnt that we received was much different compared to before.
Unlike before where we were monitored all the ti, it seed that they relaxed this a bit and allowed us to move with limited space.
Which ant that even the royal guards were invited as guests to the feast.
They weren't afraid that they would do anything since they thought that we were about to beco much closer.
While sitting in the carriage with Klein, I gave him a look that only he understood and he gave a nod in response.
Other than the High Priestess and her followers, Klein was the other thing that I was relying on. When the ti ca, I would need the support of him and the other royal guards on their wyverns to finish this.
Though I really hoped that it didn't co to this.
As we moved through the streets of the capital, it was strangely and eerily quiet.
It was the fact that most of the elves that I had seen previously were completely gone from the streets.
In the past, when I moved through the streets of the capital, it would always be filled with different elves going about their business. Whether it was during the day or during the night, the streets would be filled with elves exchanging goods and services with each other.
It was just like a human city with how lively it was.
But now, there wasn't a single person…elf that was walking around.
It was as if they had all been evacuated.
In the end, the only thing that moved across these roads were carriages.
I didn't see these carriages at first, but eventually I saw them once I reached a certain point in the city. Once we got closer to the castle at the foot of the Tree of Life, there were more and more of these carriages that appeared in the streets.
These were carriages that were as luxurious as the one that I was currently riding in.
At the sa ti, I could see that there were elves that were sitting in them. Only the mana fluctuations that they released was different from the normal elves that I had t before.
These were clearly high elves.
And not just that, these high elves in these carriages had to be the ones that supported the Elven King since we were all heading in the sa direction.
The fact that they had driven away all of the normal elves just so they could have the roads all to themselves like this…At the sa ti, the fact that they were all in luxurious carriages like this…
It seed that they were indeed deeply corrupted by the Elven King just like the High Priestess and Vivrum had said.
Though I couldn't help slightly knitting my brows when I saw the number of carriages that were there.
Even if they had been corrupted by greed, the fact remained that they were high elves.
As high elves, they had a high sensitivity to mana and were very skilled at casting magic just like Aisha.
So with the number of carriages and the number of elves that I could see…it really seed like it might be a problem. At the very least, it seed like there were far more high elves than I had expected.
I took a deep breath to calm myself before looking forward to the castle that was in front of .
Even if there were all of these high elves, it was already too late for to go back on this decision. Things had already been set into motion, so there was only one way that this would end.
We would either have a new ruler or we would all die.
