With the gnos leading the way, it went much more smoothly.
Though as we continued forward, I could tell that the strange creatures and the corruption energy was getting stronger.
That should be a sign that we were heading in the right direction.
After all, for the strange creatures and the corruption energy to be gathered in this place, it ant that there was sothing that was worth gathering for. That ant that there was sothing that was happening here that was causing them to gather.
It didn’t take long for us to find the reason why.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
There was this loud smashing sound that was coming from in front of us.
The mont that I heard it, I looked at the others, but I found that they were already focused on what was in front of us. It seed that all of them were prepared to charge in even without saying anything.
In that case, there was nothing else to say.
"Follow !"
As soon as I said this, I moved to the front while riding on Joan’s back and took the lead.
Following behind were the other wyverns that had the different holy knights and priests from the Holy Empire on their backs. The holy knights and the priests were all charging up their holy magic as if they were prepared to use them at any mont.
Once we ca close, we could see what was creating that sound.
It was just that this certainly wasn’t sothing that we had been expecting to see.
It was the strange creatures and the corruption energy that was causing this, but it was different from before. That was because the strange creatures that were attacking the barrier that was put up were of a completely different size.
Instead of the normal small sized strange creatures, these were hulking versions of the strange creatures that stood several ters tall.
They weren’t as big as the giants, but they were as big as the golems that I had raised before.
With how big they were, it was clear that they were made from a large concentration of the corruption energy.
It was even hard to believe that they were able to reach this kind of size.
At the sa ti, it wasn’t just a single one of them that were here. There were several of them that were all in the sa area, slamming down at a barrier in front of them.
This barrier was similar to the one that we had seen earlier, but it was also much stronger than the one that was put up previously. Those that could see it would be able to see that this barrier was actually thicker than the one from before.
There was a mont of hesitation from the wyverns and those from the Holy Empire as they were caught off guard by the large strange creatures.
However, they didn’t hesitate once they ca back to their senses.
They didn’t waste any ti in releasing the fla breaths filled with holy energy.
As soon as the fla breaths appeared, there was a patch of land that was imdiately purified. The corruption energy just couldn’t resist the fla breaths filled with holy energy, so it was completely wiped out.
When it was over, there was a silence that ca over this area.
Even the large strange creatures stopped slamming on the barrier as they turned around to look at the wyverns that were attacking them.
But in the end, it didn’t seem like they treated the wyverns as the bigger threat.
Rather, they were focused on taking down the barrier in front of them.
They recognized that if they took down the barrier first, then they would win.
So the corruption energy and the strange creatures split up.
The big strange creatures continued to wail on the barrier that was in front of them while the smaller ones turned around and surged forward with the corruption energy.
With them coming together like this, it really was as if they were a wave of black sothing coming at us.
But since they were gathered like this...
I just patted Joan on the forehead and she released her flas breath.
Fla breath with holy energy and fla breath with divine energy was completely different. Especially when this was a shot that Joan had been gathering for a while now.
She had used the other wyverns to buy ti while she gathered her divine energy inside of this one breath, so it completely wiped out the wave of corruption energy and strange creatures that were coming at us.
Seeing this, the big strange creatures had no choice but to stop pounding on the barrier.
They were all looking at Joan as if they recognized that she was a danger to them, so it seed like they wanted to surround her. It seed like they wanted to combine their power so they could take her down.
Only it wasn’t as if the others would allow the big strange creatures to do that.
There were all kinds of attacks that were shot in the direction of the big strange creatures.
"Roar!"
With a powerful roar, they actually pushed back all of these attacks and were able to avoid them in ti.
Well, most of the attacks that were aid in their direction missed.
There were a few that hit them, but it didn’t seem like they had much of an effect.
There was only a bit of smoke before all traces of the hit disappeared.
It really seed like it had any effect on the big strange creatures.
But that montary distraction was all that was needed.
After all, there were others with stronger attacks. They just didn’t have ti to gather it with the speed that the big strange creatures moved.
There was a spear of ice and a spear of branches that suddenly appeared in the air before flying out at the two of the closest large strange creatures.
This ti, there were wary looks in their eyes.
They recognized the danger of these spears.
