Signing-In: The Lazy Moon Goddess Chapter 442: Sect Disciples

The second beast wave coming from the fantasy forest had arrived abruptly catching everyone off guard. Because of this, most of them had gotten injured and the humans were once again pushed inside the gates of the Heavenly City. However, with cultivators at the gates, the defensive formation or barrier had been activated. This ti was instant cast and all the beast chasing them had all been blocked by the barrier and protected the ones who had gone inside the city.

Contradictory to the celebration before the wounded and the death count had also inflated a lot. The reason for this is because most of them weren’t on guard when the second wave of the beast riot had fallen. Due to the sudden change of the situation at the gates, most inner disciples, or rogue cultivators of at least peak Peak Foundation Realm were all summoned and even those at Innateness realm had co over at the gates.

Among them the disciples this ti includes Mo Jue and Fu Lili from the Heavenly Sword Sect. Since both of them had broken through a realm in the fantasy forest, they had beco the second strongest among the disciples of the Three Sword Sect, especially Mo Jue. Now that even Innateness Realm beasts had co out, they were finally asked to co out of the sect to fight. Because of diligence to training, Mo Jue had once again made a breakthrough to Late Innateness Realm before the Beast Riot had arrived.

Normally, Disciples like Mo Jue’s current realm will only co out of the sect together with the head disciples. But since Fu Lili had to co out at this mont, he asked his master to let him out of the sect ahead. It can be said that because of this. Peak Master Guan Yueyi had agreed for Mo Jue to co out ahead of ti. But because of this his responsibility is heavier compared to coming out later. It can be said that except for so elders from the other sects, Mo Jue was the one that represented the Heavenly Sword Sect.

When the disciples from the Heavenly Sword Sect led by Mo Jue had arrived at the gates, Fu Lili who was holding his hands was stunned by the group of injured people by the gates. The camps designated for curing the injured ones are full of those patients with fatal injuries. Thus, so of them who didn’t suffer much were asked to rest outside the camp.

Mo Jue and Fu Lili are leading so disciples from the Heavenly Sword Sect. Most of them are at Foundation Realm with only Mo Jue and another elder in Innateness realm. When they saw the broken gates they are so familiar with and the scent of blood strongly lingers at the gates, their faces churn at the scene. They heard the successful defense for the first wave of the beast. However, before they could celebrate, they were caught off guard by the second beast wave ending up in such a state.

The elder who ca out with Mo Jue and the disciples of the Heavenly Sword Sect murmured, "They shouldn’t have lowered their guards. Do they think the beast wave is done with just one wave?!"

When they heard of the abrupt appearance of the second beast waves, most of these people didn’t even hold any weapons with them at that ti and were attacked before they could react. A lot of things had gone beyond control once things were out of order.

The elder added, " Disciple Mo Jue, I am going to et the other elders now. You can lead your juniors while I am not around. Go arrange a tent for us to stay. One to build a camp and the other to look out for." Then he looked at the barrier above their heads, the elders shook his head in disappointnt.

"The barrier was deployed ahead of ti and whether it would last until the beast riot is unknown now," said the elder before taking his leave to begin his duties.

After the elder left, Mo Jue led the groups of disciples to the area where they are designated to stay. He took over the group now that the elders will be busy eting.

Mo Jue said to his junior brothers and sisters, "Shidis and Shiis, for now erect three tents in this area. One for the male disciples to stay into, another for female disciples and the last one is for the elder. No one knows how long we will be staying in this place. Make sure that tent will be sturdy and comfortable. Fu Shii and I will be guarding duties with the other group tonight."

"Yes, Mo Shixiong!" the other disciples said as they started moving in accordance to their mission.

After a while, Mo Jue left with Fu Lili to check the broken gates. They et up with the disciples from the other sects which accept the guarding mission for tonight. Because only the two of them possessed spirit beasts as partners, Mo Jue and Fu Lili caught the attention of everyone by the gates.

"Oh my god! What is that?!"

"Has a beast successfully broken through the defensive formation!?"

"Look closely! Those are tad spirit beasts!"’

"Indeed, there is a link with them and their spirit beasts."

"Both the hawk and this steel eating bear are Innateness realm!"

"I see the ones from before."

"Isn’t that’s Daoist Mo Jue? I heard he had already reached Peak Innateness Realm. Why is he out of the sect this early!?"

"Is it because of the girl beside him?"

"Shss! Stop talking!"

However, their conversation was already heard by Fu Lili, making her uncomfortable and lowering her head. Being ntioned like this is very embarrassing, but even so, Fu Lili is grateful that Mo Jue had co out with her. This is her first experience with a situation like this. Upon seeing the injured people upon their arrival, that feeling had gotten stronger making her uneasy. But when she looked beside her and noticed Mo Jue who was by her side, she finally cald down.

The two of them lounge at the gates with fewer people and look beyond the barrier. Nurous beasts were eyeing them outside the gates and were all showing fierce expression while looking at them. The banging sound of a beast hitting the barrier cannot be ignored. However, right now there is nothing to do by ignoring it. This sound is a taunting move coming from the other side.

Growls~ THUD! THUD!

The sounds of hitting hard walls and growling at each mont of ti makes things tense for the ones inside the barrier. It makes it hard for people to sleep, especially for the injured ones. As if knowing this, the beast beyond the gates were intentionally hitting the barrier created by a defensive formation.

Fu Lili was also stunned by this scene. "What are they doing? Why are they hitting the barrier?"

"That is intentional. Their goal in this action is not to destroy the formation but to stress out the human resting inside of this barrier. Prevent them from healing fast," Mo Jue answered.

Fu Lili’s expression turned grim and said, "I heard during wars with the beasts, killing the head of this wave will stop the progression of that place. Is that the one who is going to hunt with the elders?"

"Yes. We will have to sneak out and find the Innateness realm beasts among the crowd and kill them. During this mission, Fu Shii shouldn’t venture too deep in the battle. Do not leave the side of your spirit beast," said Mo Jue.

The two of them stopped their conversation and both looked at the dark forest not far from them. No one knows how many more beasts are hiding in the darkness. They were truly afraid that the mastermind of this beast riot hadn’t even shown itself. But everyone already had their own guess in their hearts who is the leader of these humans.

Fu Lili suddenly asked, "Shixiong..."

"What is it?" replied Mo Jue.

Fu Lili said, "We can survive this right?"

Mo Jue hesitated but still answered honestly. He said, "I don’t know. There are too many unknown from that forest and the leader of these beasts is most likely at the Huashen realm. It will be hard to deduce what kind of ending we will have. However, as long as one doesn’t give up fighting there is hope. But the question I wanted the most to know was... Whether Miss Yue will lend us a hand."

"She only helped our sect because of Senior Sister Tan. She is only staying because she is waiting for Tan Shijie to co pick her up. Moreover, we had let down Sister Tan. Because the sect didn’t help her and her clan during the greatest crises of their lives," said Fu Lili while looking at the sky full of stars above their heads.

Mo Jue said, "I don’t think she would completely ignore us. Just watch for yourself. If I am not around you and you are in danger go to the heavenly manor for help."

"I will keep that in mind, Shixiong!" said Fu Lili.
