The sudden appearance of Caden Lockwood startled Evelyn Morgan greatly. She looked at him, his face seed as if it was stained with ink, dark and unpleasant.
"It’s... senior..." she replied unconsciously, her voice caught in her throat, not daring to speak too loudly.
Clenching his jaw, Caden Lockwood took the phone from Evelyn Morgan’s hand and said coldly, "If you have anything, co directly to ."
"Are you... Evelyn’s husband?" Finn Lewis asked.
"Yes, I am." Caden Lockwood replied sternly, more like declaring his ownership over Evelyn.
"Ah! Actually, I have nothing to talk about with Evelyn, I just accidentally dialed the wrong number, bye." Saying this, Finn Lewis prepared to hang up.
"You really have nothing to say to ?" Caden Lockwood’s tone was slow, "Lying to my wife that you were fired from your company to make her sympathize with you, what’s your agenda?"
Saying this, Caden Lockwood pressed the speakerphone button.
"What are you talking about? I lied to Evelyn about being fired?" Finn Lewis feigned complete ignorance, "No way! I’m doing very well! The treatnt at the new company is great! The leaders all appreciate !"
"What!" Evelyn’s eyes widened, "Senior, you clearly told ..."
"Evelyn, what’s going on? Have our secrets been exposed?" Finn Lewis asked.
Evelyn felt even more confused.
What secret could there be between her and Finn Lewis?
It even sounded shaful!
"I’ve already told you, stop pestering ! But you keep saying you’re with your husband for the money, while the person you truly love is ." Finn Lewis sighed long, "Now it’s all been found out, hasn’t it?"
Finn Lewis chuckled on the other end of the line, Eleanor Keaton’s arrangent, in fact, the most dramatic part was right here.
First, he pretended to be pitiful in front of Evelyn Morgan, then when Caden Lockwood got involved, he would turn the tables, leaving Evelyn with no words to defend herself.
Evelyn was completely bewildered, "Senior, why are you saying things completely different from before?"
"Your husband is listening, right?" Finn Lewis seed earnest, "Mr. Lockwood, as a man, I first want to tell you it’s not worth it."
After delivering a summary sentence, he continued, "The woman you married, her heart isn’t with you, the person she loves is . But since she’s married to you, I won’t have any more thoughts about her, I just want to find another woman to live a life that belongs to ."
Even through the phone, Finn Lewis could feel the anger emanating from Caden Lockwood.
Summoning courage, he continued, "It’s your wife who’s been pestering , even saying she’ll use her money to support ! She said being with you doesn’t fulfill her psychological needs, and she even gave five thousand bucks this afternoon as a bit of pocket money. As long as I agree to secretly be with her, she’ll give fifty thousand, five hundred thousand, even more."
Listening to Finn Lewis’s words, Evelyn thought she was dreaming.
Was this still the senior she knew?
Caden Lockwood glanced at Evelyn, the look in his dark eyes was extrely complex.
"I didn’t do it!" Evelyn explained anxiously, "I really don’t have feelings for him, and I never thought of making him my secret boyfriend!"
"Evelyn, you can’t harm !" Finn Lewis exclaid, "I don’t want to get involved in the ss of your marriage, nor do I want to ruin my future because of you! Even if I’m begging you, don’t drag into this anymore, carry on with your life, okay? The five thousand you gave , I’ve already returned to your account, let’s not contact each other again."
