"Yes," Evelyn’s voice squeezed through her clenched teeth, "Thank you for thinking about . If there’s nothing else, I’ll go pack my things."
Saying this, she got up, her head spinning, feeling like a wooden puppet, and walked towards the bedroom on the second floor.
"You and Logan Shaw make a pretty good pair. I hope you can be together. Don’t forget to invite to your wedding banquet!" Shannon Dunn’s voice echoed.
"You know that the person Logan Shaw likes is you," Evelyn suddenly beca angry.
Realizing her emotional upheaval, she lowered her voice, "Even if you don’t like him, don’t be so eager to set him up with soone else."
Upon hearing this, a deep gleam flickered in Shannon Dunn’s eyes.
Soon, the smile on her lips deepened, and she said softly, "Matters of the heart aren’t sothing you can control! After all, everyone desires; who wouldn’t want to find soone they love? That feeling is true happiness."
Evelyn felt a heaviness in her chest.
Why did Shannon Dunn’s words sound like she was talking about herself and Caden Lockwood?
In love?
Happy?
Then let them be happy!
"I’ll go pack." Evelyn ran upstairs as if fleeing, "Make yourself at ho."
Watching Evelyn’s back, Shannon Dunn’s pupils slightly narrowed, raising her chin high, and she left with the divorce agreent.
Back in the bedroom, Evelyn looked around at everything in the room, her expression mournful.
She was so familiar with everything; it felt like she wouldn’t stumble even with her eyes closed.
She rembered feeling unwilling and resigned at first when she moved in.
Unexpectedly, she had so seamlessly integrated herself into it.
How foolish!
Even knowing this day would co, she foolishly fell in love with this place!
But, it’s not her fault!
Who could resist a place so beautifully decorated, so comfortable, so cozy, that it felt like ho?
Sniffing, she took out her suitcase, ready to pack her things and leave this ho once Aunt May returned.
Opening the wardrobe, she looked at the few suits that belonged to Caden Lockwood hanging there, and before she knew it, her eyes beca wet.
She hadn’t seen him in a long ti, and the rare occasion she did, he was preparing a surprise for the woman he cherished.
Ha!
That proud man, even he could do sothing romantic?
It turns out there’s no such thing as a cold man in the world; he just isn’t warm to you.
Wiping away the moisture in her eyes, she wondered why she was reluctant.
She was leaving this ho, regaining her freedom; she should be happy!
Looking at Caden Lockwood’s suits, she carefully checked the dicine bags to see if they were intact, to ensure there were no dicines left inside.
In case he suddenly had a headache, he could just take the dicine from the suit pocket to save himself.
Seeing they were all full, she let out a light sigh of relief.
Evelyn didn’t have many things; everything was packed into one suitcase.
Sitting at the vanity, she looked at the ring on her finger, which wasn’t there for very long, yet had already left an indentation.
But now, she was divorced from Caden Lockwood.
The ring, she’d have to return it to him?
Everything he had given her, she must return to him.
Taking off the ring, she looked at herself in the mirror; her face was pale and haggard, her gaze reluctantly lingering on the ring, her heart tingling with pain.
Clenching her teeth, she rose determinedly, tidied up the house, took out two yuan, wrote "Goodbye" on it, then placed it in a drawer, closed it, out of sight, out of mind.
Just then, the sound of a car pulling up ca from outside.
Her eyes flickered montarily, but quickly extinguished.
No matter who was back, she had no mood to see them.
Taking steps forward, as she reached the bedroom door, she saw Caden Lockwood walking up.
