Evelyn was startled by Caden Lockwood’s shout, staring at him blankly, forgetting even to breathe.
Caden crinkled his brows in irritation, a blush climbing his cheeks at an inopportune mont.
He glared at her, fiercely, yet his eyes were brimming with tenderness.
"You yearn for simplicity, I live a complex life; you are without guile, I’m often calculating; from every angle, we seem mismatched, and yet I..." At this point, a deep emotion flashed in Caden’s eyes.
He sighed before continuing, "And yet, when others say we’re not right for each other, I get angry, unconsciously seeking our commonalities. We both love at, we both enjoy the sunshine, we both habitually rinse our mouths before brushing our teeth. With each shared interest, I find more joy."

He looked into her eyes, softly parting his lips, "Tell , is this... love?"
Caden’s voice was so soft, it seed only he could hear it.
Evelyn finally blinked, her long eyelashes tracing an ethereal arc.
The world suddenly turned so very quiet, quiet enough for her to clearly hear her own heartbeat.

It beat so fast, as if it were about to leap out.
The words that ca from his mouth left her unsure of how to respond.
Why does he ask her whether he loves her?
Doesn’t he have a clear answer for himself?
The heat in her body was accumulating more and more, she felt so hot, her mind buzzing with confusion, she was about to lose herself.
Grasping the sheets tightly, she didn’t dare to speak.
The two of them held each other’s gaze, his heavy body weighing on her, leaving her completely numb.
"Erin Morgan." Caden was the first to break the silence between them, "Our country needs us to nurture more outstanding future generations, your mission is daunting."
As he spoke, he moved closer, indulging his desire for her.
Evelyn’s eyes widened, her lips curled up awkwardly.
She found it funny, yet maddening.
Clearly, he couldn’t control himself, yet he ca up with such a perfect reason for the sake of the country’s future generations?
No way!
Now wasn’t the ti for her to think about these things!
She wasn’t ready to give herself to him again!
Her fists were clenched against their chests, and before Evelyn had ti to push Caden away, she suddenly saw his expression change, clutching his head, he fell beside her.
"Uncle!" Evelyn exclaid in shock.
He must have suddenly been struck by a headache!
She imdiately took dicine from the drawer, prepared warm water, and fed him the dication, then helped him lie down at the head of the bed.
The arrogant and overbearing Caden from monts ago had that arrogance greatly diminished by the pain.
But even so, he didn’t appear defeated or weak, maintaining an aura of sharp indifference that forbade others from underestimating him just because he was ill.
"You should rest now!" Evelyn’s voice was thick with worry, "Get so sleep, and you’ll feel better when you wake up!"
She was about to get out of bed as she spoke.
Caden held Evelyn’s hand, opened his eyes to look at her, and whispered, "Don’t go."
"I won’t go." Evelyn said softly, "I just wanted to get so hot water to place on your forehead, it might make you feel a bit better."
"No need." He spoke with difficulty, "Lie down."
Hesitating for a mont, Evelyn could only do as he said.
Caden stayed in her embrace, she gently massaged his temples, and in this intimate position, there was nothing awkward about it.
"Uncle." Evelyn said softly, "Why do you get headaches? Isn’t it curable?"
