Chapter 150: Janna’s thods

Although he was extrely anxious, Maro Heigel’s emotional state deteriorated further due to the Blackbone Grove apprentices trailing closely behind him, showing signs of imminent breakdown.

“If you don’t want to die, hand over your naplate! Otherwise, you won’t be leaving this secret realm alive!”

As Maro Heigel slowed down, a swarm of bees, each the size of a fist, quickly rushed toward him.

Realizing he could no longer escape, he stopped abruptly and swung his wand to cast a spell.

“Splash—”

Water surged forth. A translucent water serpent, about the thickness of a bucket, ford at the tip of Maro Heigel’s wand and lunged at the incoming bee swarm to block their assault.

“Whoosh whoosh—”

Almost simultaneously, dozens of bone spikes glimring with cold white light and accompanied by a chilling wind launched toward Maro Heigel’s legs without warning.

Catching a glimpse from the corner of his eye, Maro Heigel barely dodged, evading most of the bone spikes.

Still, several tiny, almost imperceptible bone fragnts pierced his calves, drawing blood.

“Hiss—”

Feeling sharp pain from his calf, Maro Heigel gasped involuntarily.

With one knee hitting the ground and his body further deteriorated by the curse, he dropped into a half-kneeling position.

“You won’t escape now.”

A hoarse, gloomy voice accompanied the appearance of three Blackbone Grove apprentices clad in black cloaks, erging from the bushes in a flanking formation.

Leading them was a short and stout male apprentice with a scar near his right eye and wielding a bone wand.

The other two, one male and one female, wore large wizard hoods, obscuring their facial features.

“As long as we get your naplate, the academy’s extra rewards will be ours!”

Seeing the smirk on the stout apprentice’s face, Maro Heigel instantly understood the relentless pursuit and felt a surge of hatred on his otherwise frosty expression.

“Let’s see if you’re worthy!”

Splash—water surged into blades.

As Maro Heigel chanted again, a multitude of razor-sharp water blades howled toward the three apprentices.

“Courting death!”

Seeing Maro Heigel’s desperate retaliation, the stout apprentice impatiently swung his bone wand, summoning two cold blue-white ghost fires.

One wave dissipated the water blades, while the other directly engulfed Maro Heigel.

“Sizzle—”

Water and fire clashed, steam rising in clouds.

Watching the figure dissolve into a puddle under the ghost fire, the stout apprentice’s expression darkened.

“An illusion! Don’t let him escape!”

“He can’t get away.”

A sharp whistle sounded from the female apprentice.

Crimson puppet snakes, each as thick as a baby’s arm, slithered from her sleeves.

In just monts, they found Maro Heigel hidden beneath the marsh, forcing him to reappear.

“That’s enough. I don’t have ti to play with you.”

Seeing the two “teammates” still failing to finish him off, the tall and skinny male apprentice on the far left removed his wizard hood, revealing a gaunt face of skin and bone.

“Spit—”

He opened his mouth, and a barbed, crimson tongue shot out like an arrow, piercing Maro Heigel’s skull in an instant.

“Splash—”

As the Maro Heigel he had “killed” once again dissolved into a puddle, the stout apprentice laughed and imdiately summoned more than ten ghost fires, attacking the area surrounded by the puppet snakes.

“Andre Green, if you dare burn my puppets, don’t bla for chopping you up!”

Seeing the ghost fire nearly scorch her crimson puppet snakes, the female apprentice shouted furiously.

“Then drive him out yourself! This guy’s like a loach, too slippery—” Cough cough— Due to the “Secret Realm Curse,” the Blackbone Grove apprentices also struggled to maintain spells over ti.

The scorching pain in his lungs forced the stout apprentice to cough.

“My puppets say his scent is still here. He hasn’t left—”

The crimson puppet snakes crawled back into the female apprentice’s sleeves.

Receiving the information, she frowned uncertainly.

“Hiss hiss—There he is!”

Having recaptured Maro Heigel’s scent, the female apprentice sent her bee swarm toward a nearby bush.

Frustrated with the cat-and-mouse ga, the other two Blackbone Grove apprentices also rushed into the bushes, ready to finish it—

“Damn it! Is your puppet reliable or not? He’s not even here!”

“Impossible! My puppets don’t make mistakes!”

Seeing the stout apprentice return alone, the female apprentice once again sent her crimson puppet snakes slithering into the depths of the marsh.

“Did you check beneath the marsh?”

“Of course—Not.”

Whoosh—

A strange wind blew off the female apprentice’s wizard hood, revealing an ordinary yet extrely pale, sickly face.

As the surroundings blurred, the stout apprentice in front of her vanished, replaced by a breathtakingly beautiful face radiating unmatched charm, reflected in her dilated pupils.

As that face drew closer, a strong sense of danger forced the dazed apprentice to awaken.

Sensing the deadly intent so near, she instinctively cried out “Surrender!” and instantly exited the secret realm.

“Just two left now.”

Using [ntal Charm] along with Mirror Illusion to swiftly eliminate the female Blackbone Grove apprentice, Janna controlled her erald green [Wizard’s Hand] to pick up the naplate she had dropped.

Then, shifting her gaze toward the other two Blackbone Grove male apprentices still conversing with the Mirror Illusion “female apprentice” created by the Hundred-Eyed Specter, Janna’s expression beca unreadable.

“How are your injuries? Can you still fight?”

Now rescued, Maro Heigel had already treated his wounds with water-type witchcraft.

Looking at Janna, his eyes showed heartfelt gratitude and a new respect for her unfathomable skills.

“I’m fine now. Thank you for saving .”

“It’s nothing. But their naplates—”

“Naturally, they’re all yours, Miss Janna. I’ll help you take the rest of their naplates too.”

“All right.”

Seeing how tactful Maro Heigel was, Janna gave a standard social smile.

Then she turned to look at the two remaining Blackbone Grove apprentices still searching like headless flies for “Maro Heigel” and a dangerous glint flashed in her eyes.

“Black witch apprentices rarely move in groups. Who’d have thought we’d run into three at once…”
