Lu Chunhua had never liked Su Qing. In the past, before the current Su Qing’s arrival, Lu Chunhua would either taunt the original girl or give her a few pinches whenever she saw her. After Su Qing arrived and dealt with the Old Su Family, Lu Chunhua hated her even more. However, given Su Qing’s growing ferocity, she didn’t dare co looking for trouble.

"Serves you right!" Cheng Beilin clapped from the side. "So shaless! Coming to soone’s ho to rob them in plain sight. We could report you for this. You’d be locked up for a few days, at least."
With that, Cheng Beilin grabbed a wooden stick and joined Su Qing in beating the woman. She’d been wanting to thrash the old hag for a while now.
Lu Chunhua was already hopping around from Su Qing’s beating. When she heard Cheng Beilin threaten to report her to the police, she panicked. She still rembered the police coming to the village a while back, and she definitely didn’t want to be taken away by those cops in their big hats.

Lu Chunhua frantically opened the courtyard gate and bolted out. Su Qing and Cheng Beilin chased her outside, where Su Qing smacked the stick against Lu Chunhua’s thigh. The blow sent Lu Chunhua sprawling to the ground, knocking the wind out of her so hard she almost passed out.
Cheng Beilin laughed and clapped. "You deserved it! That’s what you get for coming here to be a robber. A beating is letting you off easy."
"Ouch, ouch! You two just wait! Ouch!" Being chased and beaten by two young girls with no way to fight back, Lu Chunhua felt she had lost all face and dignity. Since she couldn’t win the fight, she could only make empty threats as she scrambled up and limped away.
"Co back here if you’ve got the guts! You... Ah, Brother!" Cheng Beilin yelled, clapping her hands as she taunted the fleeing Lu Chunhua. But then, she caught sight of a man approaching from the side and jumped in surprise. Turning to look, she saw—well, what do you know, it was her older brother.
Cheng Beize was also taken aback.
’What was he seeing? His own little sister was helping Su Qing beat soone up!’
Never in his wildest dreams did Cheng Beize imagine his little sister would appear before him like this. If their mother found out, she would probably go crazy.
Su Qing, however, was unfazed. She smiled and nodded at Cheng Beize. "Brother Cheng."
"Ah." Cheng Beize glanced in the direction Lu Chunhua had fled, blinking. "What was that all about?"
"Brother, let tell you, that woman was absolutely shaless!" Cheng Beilin imdiately launched into a tirade, rattling off everything Lu Chunhua had done.
"Brother, seriously, how can soone be so shaless?" Cheng Beilin found Lu Chunhua completely and utterly detestable.
Once he understood the situation, Cheng Beize was more understanding of his sister’s and Su Qing’s actions. The thought of Su Qing, a young woman living alone in the countryside and having to deal with neighbors like that, made him feel she should move. He asked, "Little Su, have you ever considered moving? If you have, I can help you."
Hearing Cheng Beize’s offer, Cheng Beilin’s eyes lit up. She quickly pulled him toward the courtyard. "Brother, co inside! I have to tell you sothing."
Cheng Beilin knew that Su Qing’s plan to buy a house wasn’t sothing to be discussed at the gate. A little bit of dicinal powder had already incited soone to attempt robbery. If the villagers found out Su Qing was planning to buy property in Beijing, they would be showing up every single day under all sorts of pretexts to "borrow" money from her.
"What is it?" Cheng Beize asked, looking at his sister in confusion as she quickly pulled him into the house.
"Su Qing is planning to buy so courtyard houses in Beijing. Do you know anyone who could give her a referral? Soone reliable, so Su Qing doesn’t get taken advantage of."
Su Qing closed the courtyard gate and entered the house just in ti to hear Cheng Beilin say this to her brother.
Originally, Su Qing had planned to go to Beijing and look around for houses herself; she hadn’t considered using the Cheng Family’s connections.
However, before Su Qing could say anything, Cheng Beize smiled at her. "So you want to buy a courtyard house in Beijing? Are you thinking of a siheyuan? As it happens, I have a friend in business who can help."
Hearing this, Su Qing didn’t refuse his kind offer. "Then I’ll have to trouble you."
If soone could help vet the options, it would save her a lot of trouble.
"It’s a small matter," Cheng Beize said with a smile. "In that case, you should co with Beilin and to Beijing. I’ll have my friend find a few places for you to compare."
"That’s right, Brother! Su Qing is coming with us to Beijing this ti," Cheng Beilin said with a grin. "Rember to buy three train tickets."

Everything went smoothly after that. Su Qing went to Zhao Youcai to get an introduction letter, while Cheng Beize went to the county post office to call his friend in Beijing, asking him to prepare information on so siheyuans for sale. Two days later, the three of them boarded a train to Beijing.
