Because we did another round of interviews for the third sons onwards of nobles who were unable to participate in the won’s interviews, we ended up accepting around twenty n and several won that Sylph and the Great Spirits approved of.
And with that, the number of human n increased in the Sanctuary too. Until now, it’s only been a few cases such as with Vanga-san and so married couples who relocated to the Sanctuary.
And the first group of immigrants already arrived, but sure enough, or I suppose unsurprisingly, there were those who tried to sneak into the Sanctuary.
Apparently, the teachers and staff approved for immigration were unaware of it.
So had even tried to rig the carriage in order to sneak in, but they were thrown out of the Sanctuary the mont they tried to pass through the gate.
「So, how many spies were there in the end?」
「Hmmm~ I dunno. I didn’t count them one by one.」
「There were that many?」
When I heard about it, I tried asking Sylph how many tried to sneak into the Sanctuary, but didn’t care to count.
「That mole? Spy? Do you know what happened to them?」
「Most of them had withdrawn to Wedgefort. A few of them returned to the Royal Capital.」
「Well, I guess they have to report their failure to infiltrate.」
Still, how foolish they were. There have been others who tried to infiltrate the Sanctuary using such thods before, which was why there hadn’t been any attempts recently.
「The immigrants this ti are sons and daughters of nobles, so there are plenty of carriages to carry their luggage. Maybe they thought they could sneak in that way?」
「Exactly that. Why do won need that much luggage, I wonder. We ended up having to make their residence larger.」
We prepared spacious accommodation for them. It’s cheap, but they will be charged rent, of course.

Now that I think about it, if my daughters were to grow up and live in another city, I would also go with them.

I couldn’t tell what those people who tried sneaking into the Sanctuary using rigged carriages were trying to do here. The one who answered when I voiced that out was Sophia.
「So they’re after the materials of the Spirit Tree? Small amounts are being sold to Valkyra Kingdom and Lomaria Kingdom, aren’t they?」
「Man’s greed knows no bounds, Takumi.」
It was then that Undine and Selene appeared.
「What’s up, why are you guys together?」
「We were inspecting the cargo that entered the Annexed District by carriage.」
「The cargo?」
For Undine and Selene to inspect the cargo themselves, it must be a serious matter.
「I know the immigrating children aren’t the issue, but there are good-for-nothing people everywhere.」
「Did sothing happen, Selene?」
「There were several cursed items.」
「!? Cursed items!?」
「We’ve lifted the curse, you need not worry.」
My voice raised when I heard about the cursed items from Selene, but I was relieved to hear that she had dispelled the curse.
「But who brought such a thing……」
「Takumi-sama, there’s no point thinking about it. There are far too many like them.」
「That’s right. There are many different factions, such as the opposing factions between the immigrating children, so you don’t have to deal with each one.」
「……you have a point. If there’s no real harm in it then we can leave it as is?」
Neither people nor items that could harm us could be brought in, so I’ll just ignore it like they said.
It seems competition between nobles was common, and there were plenty of nobles who were jealous of the chosen individuals allowed entry to the Sanctuary because they themselves would never be able to.
In this way, I, too, must have been resented by the Noble Faction of Valkyra Kingdom. I suppose it wouldn’t be a mystery that they would take this chance to harass .
The carriages filled with immigrating people will arrive one after the other, I wonder if they would need to help transporting their luggage
