Hum!
Accompanied by a spatial fluctuation and a shift in consciousness, Ree Shil appeared in the Pure White Space.
"The initial funds for the Zero Checkpoint are 0 points; no need to consider the Shop.
Save ti, and just go straight in."
Without any further delay, he selected [Breaking Power], then walked into the Teleportation Portal.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Upon entering the level, a torrential downpour drenched everything.
Ree Shil found himself standing on a sandy beach.
"Reminds of so not-so-pleasant mories."
He quickly looked around, thankfully not seeing any countdown.
[Gaa...]
Not far away, a Tide Fishman slowly crawled ashore, its red light warning circle moving back and forth with its steps.
He stepped in directly to initiate the first attack.
"Normally, the level zero isn’t difficult, but with a full Breakthrough Card Set... "
Looking at the Card table in front of him, Ree Shil was a bit worried.
His own Breakthrough Cards can’t really be considered abundant.
If it were according to the standards of the previous City Competition, the cards powerful enough to qualify for play wouldn’t even make a complete 6 1 set, let alone a 9 1 set.
But there was no choice; he had to grit his teeth and do it.
"First off, I don’t have any Breaking Montum Healing Cards, so I must bring a bit of sustainability."
For the Scene Card, Ree Shil chose [Martial Woods].
[Martial Woods] with its [Ergency Aid] and [Swift Revenge] could provide a certain level of healing.
"But [Martial Woods] is only effective with Kung Fu Cards, so my first row Injury Cards must be Kung Fu Cards."
Looking at the cards he had filtered out, he felt sowhat helpless.
Under this condition, the only cards that could undertake the task of frontline cards, aning Breakthrough Kung Fu Cards, were just three.
So he didn’t hesitate and laid them out directly.
The order from left to right was:
[Beginning Stick] [Kung Fu Sheep God] [Tricky Hand Snake], totaling 40 points.
With the universal label, [Beginning Stick] could benefit from the effects of [Martial Woods].
[Kung Fu Sheep God] had [Invincible], [Tricky Hand Snake]’s two-stage attack could trigger [Swift Revenge].
If you had to pick the best among the worst, they were up to the task.
Next up were the Next Line Cards.
Cards like [Naless Sword Spirit] and [Breaking Balance Sword], which were strong enough to be main cards, were not appropriate in this situation.
The forr had low points and low Attack Power, while the latter was only useful for Balanced Cards.
As such, he placed three ordinary, useless 30-point D and C level Breakthrough Cards in this row.
In the Last Row, there was one useless card, plus [Dragonman Bandit] and [Long-tongued Trickster].
The final King Card he played was [Steal Loss].
[Steal Loss]
Breakthrough, 30 points, B
Attack 30, 70/70, 0/3
[Unrighteous Thief - Passive]: Steal Loss Health Points -30
[Imdiate Theft - Passive]: When Steal Loss Reveals a Card, it [Steals] 10 points from the max Health Points of a Reveal Card target
[Delayed Theft - 3 points of energy]: When Steal Loss attacks a target, it [Steals] 5 points of its Attack Power
([Steal]: Decreases the respective value of the target and increases one’s own respective value)
This card was a growth-type card, capable of stealthily stealing health and attack power or the like.
If the Card Ga lasted long enough, it could grow into a decent DPS Card.
"It feels like the hardest part is not this Alien-shaped ga, but being required to play all Breakthrough System Cards."
Having assembled this deck, Ree Shil revealed a wry smile.
[GAA!!!]
As he finished laying down his cards, three Card Grids also lit up in front of him, turning into several Tide Fishn.
[Tidal Smuggler]
Breakthrough, Attack 20, 300/300, 0/1
[Born Hunter - Passive]: Tidal Smuggler deals 10 Damage to Human-shaped Cards
These minor, single-tag Monster Cards are now scarcely a concern in Ree Shil’s eyes.
Neither a concern nor worthy of attention.
Through a few combinations of moves, he managed to get rid of them all.
It must be said that with the pair of double S partnerships, [Kung Fu Sheep God] [Beginning Stick], fighting the card battle was indeed exhilarating.
Even with a highly incomplete full Breakthrough Card Set, Ree Shil forged ahead through level zero like Breaking Bamboos.
The Montum Breaker of the ninth minor level was rather unique; the ssengers from previous levels would all morph into the sa type of form as the monsters of their major level.
But this guy was different.
It took the form of a large saber and didn’t speak.
Not being able to talk, it was a bit boring; it seed there was no opportunity for extra benefits.
And in the following major levels, Ree Shil found that it maintained this state throughout.
This trip was fairly lucky; levels zero, one, and two—the three major levels—didn’t waste too many of his opportunities.
The second major level was a bit more difficult, but the gains were also quite good.
Although his current Breakthrough Card Set still couldn’t form a relatively complete system, it was already much stronger than at the beginning.
After resting in the Pure White Space, Ree Shil stepped into the portal leading to the third major level.
As his consciousness seed to spin, the next thing he knew, he found himself standing in a valley.
Based on past experience, starting from the third major level, the difficulty of the Instance would suddenly increase significantly.
"This place... seems a little unusual."
He looked around and saw that not a single blade of Grass was growing.
Both sides of the valley were smooth and vertical, and the ground was the sa.
This didn’t look like a naturally-ford valley; it was more like a race track carved out by so specially designed, large-scale equipnt.
Most importantly, starting from the Air Wall behind him, a series of Card Grids extended forward.
And ahead was a Fog, with nothing visible beyond.
Each grid was an estimated 2x2 ters in size, separated by blue light lines.
As a card player, he was all too familiar with these; they were Card Grids.
