Now reading: Chapter 456 - 158: The Disappeared Bug from Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station, a Sci-fi novel by I am a Zhonglu Ren..

While Chen Ming was transforming the gadget he left in the Director’s office into a micro-robot,

he simultaneously hacked into their surveillance signals through the internal network of the Administration Bureau.

Although the Administration Bureau had enhanced internal security after recent events, naturally increasing the security of the internal network,

for Chen Ming, these security asures were not an issue.

Although Chen Ming majored in engineering, he was still competent in programming, as piloting and building spacecraft inevitably involve such skills.

During his ti in Dusk’s territory, he had continuously been learning and had just picked up so very useful techniques from a mber of the Fourteenth Legion’s special operations squad.

Of course, Chen Ming didn’t learn directly from him.

After that electronic technology teammate hacked into Dusk’s factory,

Chen Ming utilized the Dusk entity they installed to reconstruct the teammate’s hacking techniques, essentially learning the skills by stealth.

Although learned stealthily, he might not have grasped everything.

But now, within the Administration Bureau, and with the help of the ’insider’ Director in terms of permissions, the Pirate Space Station’s security system was almost indistinguishable from defenseless in front of him.

So, Chen Ming effortlessly injected a small program into the Administration Bureau’s system.

However, Chen Ming’s target was just a Director, and given the relationship with the Director, he didn’t overdo it.

He even proactively packaged several vulnerabilities and recorded them, sending them to the network security departnt.

The package would automatically unpack after he left.

Of course, these weren’t the vulnerabilities Chen Ming used to hack into the Administration Bureau, but rather other vulnerabilities he found, serving rely as an excuse.

He still left a backdoor in the Administration Bureau, just in case it might be useful in the future.

After Chen Ming injected the program into the Administration Bureau’s network and ran it,

he successfully gained control over the entire floor where the Director’s office was located, including the surveillance access of the office.

The surveillance equipnt in the office began to loop, with only ti passing normally.

Doing this allowed his little robot to boldly climb onto the desk and connect to the Director’s computer.

At this mont, Chen Ming said to the Director, "Earlier you ntioned that the new Director has been doing all sorts of disgusting things, surely he must have left sothing on his computer?"

"Very likely, but I think it’s more likely in his portable terminal."

"No worries, we’ll look first, and if nothing is found, then we’ll adjust."

Chen Ming searched right in front of the Director.

As a result, he indeed found a hidden encrypted file on the computer.

There was nothing more to be said.

Plant cronies to draw illegal salaries.

Choose lousy suppliers for kickbacks.

Privately forming cliques and suppressing dissidents.

Various acts of corruption and bribery.

He even managed, through various ans, to acquire a high-value guard-level yacht.

This is a civilian ship specifically for wealthy people, often equipped with a wide range of leisure and entertainnt facilities that combat or work spacecraft lack.

Generally, it’s used only in the Prosperous Star Realm or places near the Prosperous Star Realm, for rich people to experience the space environnt.

In the Edge Star Realm, however, such a ship clearly represents the word ’profit.’

But at least the Director has so brains; according to the records in his computer, he never took it out freely.

It seems he only occasionally stayed on it for a day or two to enjoy the entertainnt facilities onboard.

After all, it’s a luxury item explicitly sold to wealthy people, better than anything in the Pirate Space Station city.

In conclusion, all these things combined are definitely not sothing a Director could legitimately acquire, not to ntion a yacht alone is hard to explain.

Even though this is on a Pirate Space Station, the Pirate Space Station is rely a facade for the company to profit from gray areas.

If true corruption occurs, there would be soone from the company to handle it proactively.

And with the new Director’s corruption and bribery being a fact, removing him through legal ans would surely be more straightforward than assassination under normal circumstances.

Although Chen Ming saw evidence sufficient to dethrone him, he still confird with the Director, "What are your thoughts on this person?"

The Director thought for a mont and said, "Killing him would be better."

"He was assigned here due to internal company interests exchanges, and with this evidence, it might still not be enough to ruin him."

"Moreover, considering prior connections, even if the current Director is replaced, a successor might pose more trouble."

"Killing him outright would be best and serve as a warning to those who co after."

"Also, I really dislike him."

"Okay."

Chen Ming nodded and decisively sentenced the current Director to death in his mind.

Since he had previously agreed with the Director, he decided to carry out all actions thoroughly.

At this ti, Chen Ming noticed through the surveillance outside the office that the Director, who had just left, was returning, approaching the office.

He quickly restored the Director’s computer and then had the micro-robot hide in a concealed corner.

The Director, looking sowhat sweaty, entered the office with soone half a minute later.

This person was the Guard Captain.

Chen Ming had seen him during previous Star Zone Military infiltration missions on the Space Station, always following the forr Director around, so he had so impression of him.

Although the Guard Captain maintained a normal expression toward the Director, the disgust in his eyes was unmistakable, or perhaps he didn’t attempt to hide it at all.
