Otto instinctively activated his chanical arms to stop 2099. However, without the AI in control, he was rely a brilliant scientist with zero combat experience—a total weakling in a fight.
And 2099? He was the strongest of the Spider-Society. Even heavily injured, he wasn't soone a person like Dr. Otto could lay a finger on.
"Get lost!"
Miguel forced his dislocated arm back into its socket with a sickening crack. Imdiately after, the mandibles on his gauntlets extended like mantis blades, precisely severing Dr. Otto's chanical tentacles one by one.
With a swift kick, he sent Otto's slightly pudgy fra flying backward.
"Doctor!"
"Damn it! You lunatic, do you want to destroy all of New York?!"
Gwen and Felicia cried out in alarm. They were now entirely certain—this Miguel guy had lost his mind! He was prepared to let everyone present, including himself, be buried alongside that bullshit "Canon Event."
He had to be stopped!
Gwen and Felicia exchanged a glance, letting their symbiote suits fully envelop them without hesitation. One white and one blue silhouette lunged toward 2099.
But 2099 was prepared. Before they could even pick up speed, he roared at the surrounding Spider-n: "Stop them! This is the only way to save this universe!"
At the keyword "Save the Universe," the group of Spider-n reacted like Pavlov's dogs. While a small minority hesitated, the majority instinctively surged forward, blocking Gwen and Felicia's path.
"Get out of the way!"
Felicia was frantic, her aqua-blue form darting and weaving as her claws shredded through layers of webbing. But she wasn't Peter; she couldn't knock out these Spiders in a single blow.
One second's delay led to more. In the blink of an eye, the two won were swamped by a sea of Spider-n, losing sight of where 2099 had gone.
"Sorry, ladies, but this is for the greater good," one Spider-Man said solemnly.
"Greater good, my ass!" Gwen snapped, her temper flaring. "Has a donkey kicked you all in the head? He's about to detonate a nuke! All of New York is finished!"
Unfortunately, these Spiders had been thoroughly brainwashed by Miguel and believed his word implicitly.
"Mr. Miguel wouldn't do that. He knows what he's doing."
"Exactly! He's helped us handle anomalies in dozens of universes. He has the experience to manage the situation."
"What you're imagining simply won't happen."
As the Spiders obstructed Gwen and Felicia, they continued to self-hypnotize. The sight made Gwen's blood boil, yet she was helpless.
If they were in an open environnt, they could use their speed to intercept from the air. But here, the dense crowd of Spider-n completely walled off the path to 2099.
There was no way through except to take them down one by one.
This led to a second problem. These Spider-n were heroes in their own worlds. Even if they were being deceived by 2099, they weren't villains who deserved to die. The girls couldn't bring themselves to use lethal force.
Conversely, these people believed they were saving the world, and their willpower was terrifyingly stubborn.
Even those beaten to the point of barely being able to stand continued to drag Gwen and Felicia down with reckless disregard for their own lives.
As 2099 drew closer and closer to the "Artificial Sun," Felicia's brow furrowed into a deep scowl. Neighbors #1 and #2, pinned down by several Spiders, shouted desperately for Peter to stop the madman.

In sharp contrast to the enraged 2099 were Neighbors #1 and #2. Hearing that familiar designation, they looked at each other, shock written all over their faces.
They broke free from the Spiders pinning them down and jumped up to see who exactly had stopped Miguel.
Then, they saw him. Leading the group was none other than their familiar Neighbor #3!
The sa cynical, depressed Parker who had called them fools and left with a "suit yourselves" just two days ago! And behind him stood Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Punk, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker!
"Do you have any idea what you're doing?" Miguel, now pinned to the floor, stared in disbelief at the "traitors" standing before him.
"What am I doing?" Neighbor #3 glanced at Peter, who had finished his cleanup and reverted to his normal form with a satisfied smile. Taking a deep breath, #3 looked Miguel in the eye.
"I finally realized who was actually right, and who was wrong!"
"I just... don't want to be an executioner anymore!"
As his voice fell, a shockwave went through the hearts of every Spider-Man present. They looked at Peter—standing calm and composed—and then at 2099, who looked red-eyed and hysterical.
Suddenly, it beca clear. Compared to Peter, it was Miguel—the man ready to detonate a nuclear device for a "necessary sacrifice"—who looked like the error that desperately needed to be "corrected."
