Chapter 110. Standoff, and the Grand Elder's Dragon Scale

Just as William was about to speak, an aged yet powerful voice suddenly rang out from the horizon, carrying unquestionable authority.

“What? Do you take Kroll Kingdom for a nation without Domain-Level Powerhouses? We went to all this trouble for the sake of a few scraps of land?”

As the voice fell, a figure strode through the air toward them, his white robes billowing. It was Ancestor Fenlilan.

Though he did not deliberately release any pressure, the auras of Silver Oakleaf's two Domain-Level Powerhouses still faltered at his arrival.

The Domain-Level Powerhouse on Silver Oakleaf's left lifted his eyes toward Fenlilan, his tone full of disdain.

“Fenlilan, what is it? Want to fight?”

The one on the right picked up the thread, his tone even more arrogant.

“Your Kroll Kingdom has existed for barely two hundred years. In terms of foundation, in terms of the number of Domain-Level Powerhouses, can you even compare to Silver Oakleaf?”

“If not for the rules imposed from above, the surrounding nations would have joined hands long ago and wiped Kroll out. Giving you a few territories now is already doing you a favor, so do not mistake courtesy for weakness.”

Ancestor Fenlilan smiled faintly, but there was an edge hidden in that smile.

“A short history of nationhood does not an weak bones. If Silver Oakleaf truly had the ability, you would not have waited until now to send two old things out to prop up the situation.”

His gaze swept over the two of them.

“As for the rules from above—if we truly tear off all pretense, none of us will co out well. Do you really think the two of you can stop ?”

The mont the words fell, a faint golden radiance spread from Fenlilan's body. A domain force that was gentle yet unyielding quietly unfurled, faintly contending against the domains of the two Silver Oakleaf powerhouses.

The air above the battlefield seed to turn solid, and the collision of invisible forces caused space itself to twist slightly.

William's heart tightened. Those above?

The expressions of Silver Oakleaf's two Domain-Level Powerhouses changed.

“Fenlilan, do you really intend to tear away all decorum?” the one on the left said in a low voice.

“It is not I who wants to tear away decorum. It is simply that the ‘courtesy' you offered is far too light.”

Just as the two sides were locked in stalemate, several more figures appeared in the sky. They were the Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Reinhardt Kingdom, the Dragon Kingdom, and the Kadiya Kingdom.

Their eyes imdiately fell upon the Gold Legion, and undisguised envy flickered within them. Such an elite force was enough to make any kingdom covet it.

The Domain-Level Powerhouse of the Reinhardt Kingdom went directly to Silver Oakleaf's side and said in a heavy voice, “That is enough. Do not push things too far.”

Fenlilan looked at the four Domain-Level Powerhouses opposite him. His face darkened, but he said nothing.

William sharply noticed that the Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Dragon Kingdom and the Kadiya Kingdom had not stepped forward. Clearly, they intended to stay out of it.

Seeing this, Silver Oakleaf's Domain-Level Powerhouse grew even more forceful.

“Fenlilan, we will go with what was said before. We cede three count territories, pay three million gold coins in compensation, and you withdraw your troops.”

Fenlilan closed his eyes briefly, suppressing his anger by force.

William, however, stepped forward and said in a clear voice, “That is too little.”

“Where did this junior co from? Do you have any standing to speak here?” one of Silver Oakleaf's Domain-Level Powerhouses snapped sharply, killing intent flashing through his eyes.

“This is William Kroll, that child who can see through aptitude.”

The Domain-Level Powerhouse of Kadiya suddenly spoke, his tone tinged with curiosity.

“Oh? So it is him.”

A strange light flashed through Silver Oakleaf's Domain-Level Powerhouse's eyes. He imdiately extended a hand, clearly intending to seize William on the spot.

“In that case, co back to Silver Oakleaf with for a little ‘visit.'”

“How presumptuous.”

Fenlilan's figure blurred, and he appeared in front of William, forcibly taking the blow head-on. The two domain forces collided, making the surrounding air hum.

Seeing this, the Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Dragon Kingdom and the Kadiya Kingdom instinctively edged a little closer to William, clearly unwilling to see anything happen to him.

William let out a light laugh at the sight, then slowly opened his palm. Resting there was a dragon scale the size of a hand. Faint golden patterns flowed across it, and an imposing draconic pressure quietly spread outward.

“Seniors.”

His voice was calm, yet every person present heard it clearly.

“I wonder whether you know the Grand Elder of Dragon Island. This dragon scale is a token he personally gave .”

Dragon Island.

The mont those two words were spoken, the expressions of all the Domain-Level Powerhouses in the sky changed at once.

That was a Demigod existence, an old monster who had lived for thousands of years. No one was willing to offend Dragon Island over Silver Oakleaf's grievances.

The Silver Oakleaf Domain-Level Powerhouse who had reached out imdiately turned unsightly. He withdrew his hand awkwardly and no longer dared act rashly.

The Domain-Level Powerhouse of the Reinhardt Kingdom also frowned and silently stepped back half a pace, clearly unwilling to involve himself in anything connected to Dragon Island.

The Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Dragon Kingdom and the Kadiya Kingdom exchanged a glance, understanding flashing through their eyes. No wonder the boy had remained so calm all along. He actually had ties to Dragon Island.

Fenlilan himself gave William a sowhat surprised look, then quickly returned to calm as he turned toward Silver Oakleaf's side.

“Now, let us discuss the real terms.”

The situation reversed yet again.

The appearance of the dragon scale was like a massive stone dropped into water, completely shattering the balance. Silver Oakleaf's support vanished in an instant, and no one dared underestimate this young prince of Kroll any longer.

William put away the dragon scale and quietly let out a breath of relief.

The Domain-Level Powerhouses of Silver Oakleaf wore livid expressions. Gritting his teeth, one of them said, “In that case, all five count territories in the Eastern Frontier will be ceded to you.”

William shook his head, his tone calm yet firm beyond dispute.

“Senior, that is still not enough. I want the entire Eastern Frontier. And on top of that, my elder brother is to be returned to Kroll.”

“You have detained his body for so long. It is ti for him to co ho. In addition, I want to select fifty thousand n from your legions and bring them back to Kroll, along with compensation of five hundred million gold coins.”

“What? Dream on.”

Silver Oakleaf's Domain-Level Powerhouse abruptly raised his voice, his eyes blazing with fury.

“Do not think I do not know what you are plotting. Fifty thousand n? Those are Silver Oakleaf's future. There is no chance we will hand them over to you.”

“You may have the Eastern Frontier, but forget about the gold. If you refuse, then at worst we will fight to mutual destruction. Even if that person from Dragon Island cos, we can still seek justice from those above. We may not necessarily lose.”

William turned to look at Fenlilan. After a mont of contemplation, Ancestor Fenlilan nodded.

“Agreed. But the Silver Oakleaf soldiers we have captured will not be returned to you.”

Silver Oakleaf's Domain-Level Powerhouse clearly did not wish to continue the matter either. With an impatient wave of his hand, he said, “Do as you please.”

With that, before William could say anything more, he turned and left with his companion. Their figures vanished into the horizon in an instant, as though even one more glance would be too much.

Seeing this, the Domain-Level Powerhouse of the Reinhardt Kingdom also gave a cold snort and departed right behind them.

The Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Dragon Kingdom and the Kadiya Kingdom rely nodded to William in acknowledgnt before leaving as well. This storm had, in the end, concluded with Kroll's victory.

The sky beca clear once more, with only Kroll's forces remaining.

William let out a long breath, and the tension in his body finally eased. He looked toward Fenlilan and bowed.

“Thank you, Ancestor.”

Fenlilan waved a hand, his gaze resting on William with a hint of approval.

“You did very well. Bringing out the dragon scale at that mont was truly unexpected.”

He paused, and his tone grew heavier.

“But Silver Oakleaf will not accept this quietly. Sooner or later, they will look for a way to settle this debt.”

“Once you return, reorganize the army and prepare for war as quickly as possible. Several more Gold Legions still need to be added, and the defenses of the Eastern Frontier must also be arranged without delay.”

“Yes. Your grandson understands.”

On the battlefield, the soldiers could barely suppress their joy. They dared not cheer aloud because of military discipline, but the excitent in their eyes was unmistakable.

Seizing the Eastern Frontier and driving back a powerful enemy—there was no doubt this was a glorious victory.

William turned toward Bluestone Pass. Odyssey V was nowhere to be seen on the wall anymore. Presumably, he was too ashad to show his face.

He gave Kru an order.

“Send n to bring back my elder brother. His body must be kept safe at all costs.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”
