Chapter 124. The Old Orc Takes Action, and William Wants to Start a War

When the four people on the cliffs realized that the old orc was Domain-level, the urge to retreat imdiately rose in their hearts, and they turned to flee deeper into the Canyon.

But it was already too late.

Golden light blazed in the old orc’s eyes as Domain Force spread out in an instant, like an invisible giant net covering the entire Canyon.

The four had just leapt into the air when it was as if invisible chains bound them in place. They froze midair, unable to move, their faces filled with terror.

“Since you are here, then stay.”

The old orc let out a cold laugh and slowly raised his hand, his five fingers curling inward.

The four Legendary Combatants suspended in midair instantly let out shrill screams. It was as though so invisible, overwhelming force was crushing their bodies, and the sound of bones shattering could be heard with perfect clarity.

In no more than a mont, all four fell silent, their bodies hanging limp.

The old orc flicked a finger, and the four corpses turned into streaks of light before being stored inside his Spatial Ring.

Imdiately after, he spread both arms wide, and Domain Force erupted with a sudden burst, sweeping through the Canyon like a violent gale.

Those enemy soldiers hidden behind rocks and in the grass did not even have ti to scream before that horrifying power crushed them into bloody mist, splattering across the cliff walls and the ground.

A thick stench of blood spread through the air, staining the gravel and dust of the Canyon red.

Standing amid that grueso scene, the old orc threw back his head and burst into hearty laughter, his eyes gleaming with excitent, as though he particularly relished such a slaughter-filled environnt.

“Who else is there?”

His voice was thunderous, making the Canyon hum with echoes.

“If anyone wants to block my path, co out.”

The mbers of the delegation had all turned pale. They were awed by the old orc’s strength, yet deeply shaken by the brutal scene before them.

They knew that after this battle, no one would dare target them so lightly again.

The old orc’s laughter gradually subsided. He swept a glance around and said to the delegation leader, “Move. We are going to the Royal Capital of Kroll. I would like to see whether they still dare pull these little tricks behind the scenes.”

The group set out once more. The road beneath their feet had already been dyed red with blood, and the sll of slaughter lingered in the air for a long ti.

Only after the delegation’s figures had completely vanished at the end of the Canyon did the Kroll scout squad hidden in the distant forest dare to move.

They had noticed the delegation the mont it stepped into Kroll’s border, but they had suppressed all action.

Their orders from above had been very clear: do not interfere, do not make contact. Whether the delegation could reach the Royal Capital would depend entirely on their own ability.

Several scouts crept toward the Canyon, bent low at the waist. The mont they reached the mouth of the gorge, a thick, almost suffocating sll of blood hit them head-on, mixed with the scent of shattered bone and scorched flesh, so sharp it made their noses ache.

The youngest scout in the group could not help covering his mouth. His stomach churned violently, and he crouched on the ground, dry heaving.

“Hold it in,” the captain snapped in a low voice, though his own brows were tightly furrowed.

He had been in the army for many years and had seen plenty of bloody scenes, yet never before had he felt his chest grow so stiflingly heavy beneath an aura of nearly solidified savagery.

Deep within the Canyon, the gravel and dirt had been dyed a dark red. Here and there, fragnts of shattered armor or bloodstained cloth could be seen, yet not a single intact corpse remained.

A faint trace of Domain pressure still lingered in the air. Though it had already weakened, it was still enough to chill the hearts of ordinary soldiers.

“There is no need to go deeper.”

The captain swept his gaze across the area and said in a deep voice, “Record the scene and report back imdiately. The delegation was attacked. A Domain-level combatant is suspected to have intervened. All attackers were wiped out.”

The scouts quickly recorded the situation at the scene, and not one of them said another word.

This Canyon seed to have turned into a giant maw that devoured life itself. Even the wind carried a mournful wail, urging them to leave as quickly as possible.

When the news reached the Royal Capital of Kroll, Kroll II was reviewing morials.

After hearing the Shadow Guard’s report, he rely waved a hand calmly. “Understood. Have the border legions continue watching them. There is no need to intervene.”

Only after his subordinate withdrew did he turn his gaze out the window, his eyes deep and unreadable.

He had not expected the old orc’s strength to exceed his expectations so greatly. He was actually Domain-level.

And as for those four Legendary combatants who had acted... who stood behind them was already self-evident.

Kroll II lightly tapped his fingers against the table, his brows locked together.

The old orc’s displayed Domain-level combat power had far exceeded expectations. If the other side relied on that strength to pressure them during the negotiations, the Kroll Kingdom would likely fall into a disadvantageous position.

“It seems I will have to invite Ancestor Fenlilan to the Royal Capital.”

He murmured to himself, then took out a crystal-clear Communication Crystal from his robes and poured a trace of Mana into it.

A faint glow spread across the surface of the crystal. Very quickly, an aged yet vigorous figure appeared within it. It was Ancestor Fenlilan.

“Ancestor.”

Kroll II rose and bowed, then explained everything in full detail: the delegation’s attack at the border, the old orc killing four Legends, and the negotiations that were soon to co.

“The other side has a Domain-Level Powerhouse overseeing things. If we have no one to check him, I am afraid we will struggle to gain the upper hand in the negotiations.”

Ancestor Fenlilan listened quietly from within the crystal. A sharp light flashed through his clouded eyes, and after a long mont, he slowly nodded.

“Mm. I understand.”

The instant the words fell, the light of the Communication Crystal dimd, and the figure vanished without a trace.

Holding the cold crystal in his hand, Kroll II felt sowhat reassured.

Ancestor Fenlilan was the royal family’s final source of confidence. With him in the Royal Capital, they would at least be able to suppress the other side in terms of montum.

He looked again at the resource list on the desk, his fingertips pausing for a mont over the entry for “Black Iron Ore Vein.”

This negotiation was not rely a struggle over resources, but a contest between two major powers. There was no room for the slightest mistake.

At the sa ti, William’s life had beco extrely regular.

Now, every day, he either cultivated his Mana or went to the Slave Market or auction house in the Royal Capital to select slaves with Golden Aptitude or higher and send them to the Northern Frontier Secret Realm.

Kroll II’s support for him was plain to see: the Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Battalions of the First Monster Legion had been placed under his command.

At the sa ti, the actual authority to deploy the Gold Legion had also fallen into his hands.

However, large numbers of slaves with exceptional aptitudes were being thrown into the Secret Realm. Although this brought batch after batch of hastily trained warriors, it also made the already strained royal treasury even worse.

The figures on the resource list were becoming more and more glaring by the day. The morials sent over by the Ministry of Revenue had piled up like mountains, and between the lines were words such as “shortage” and “urgent.”

“Only war can fill the gap.”

William wiped down his sword, and its blade reflected the cold, hard line of his face. Pillaging had always been the fastest way to accumulate wealth.

But he knew this move could not be made.

The Agents of every kingdom had long since spread throughout the Royal Capital of Kroll, and the border garrisons were already thirty percent larger than before.

The mont Kroll was the first to take up arms, those kingdoms lying in wait like tigers would imdiately join forces. In the opening stage of the war, they would strangle Kroll’s desire to wage it and turn that war into the rope used to hang Kroll itself.
