"How accurate are your predictions?"
Fang Cheng held the drawings in his hands, asking out of curiosity.
"It’s hard to generalize such predictions."
Lin Chuqiao replied with a tone that lacked confidence.
Then she went on to explain:
"There is no everlasting and unchanging law of developnt for anything in the world because there will always be variables that happen, no matter how insignificant they may seem, these variables can ultimately lead to vastly different outcos."
"In statistics, this is known as the butterfly effect. Even with my foreknowledge, I am unable to see through all the darkness and chaos of the future."
"Generally speaking, the longer the prediction’s tifra and the more targets involved, the greater the likelihood of distortion."
Fang Cheng smiled and pointed out her problem:
"This ti you’re predicting about two organizations with imnse power; the accuracy is negligible."
Lin Chuqiao’s lips tightened slightly as she spoke in a soft voice:
"My prediction was actually about you..."
Fang Cheng was taken aback upon hearing this.
He then lifted the drawing, examining it even more closely.
His gaze swept over all the figures in the painting, including the bodies lying on the ground and the people subrged in the sea.
However, due to the small size and simple sketching, he couldn’t find anyone who looked particularly like himself.
After inspecting the image, Fang Cheng couldn’t help shaking his head and sighing:
"Isn’t your drawing technique a bit too rough?"
Lin Chuqiao’s eyebrows raised slightly as she couldn’t help but retort:
"Not at all, I even took a sester of advanced studies in the art departnt at East Capital University."
"It’s just that every ti I predict sothing about you, it seems to be interfered with. I can never see the true scene clearly."
After speaking, a faint blush spread across her face, and she added in a lower voice:
"Except for the first ti, but that was mainly about ..."
Fang Cheng did not continue to discuss her level of artistic skill, instead, he pointed out a more crucial issue:
"You said your ability ca from the True Thought Society. Wouldn’t that an they also possess foreknowledge?"
"That’s why I can’t make heads or tails of the current situation."
Lin Chuqiao nodded, her expression turning solemn again:
"Moreover, they possess a Saint Relic that has unpredictable power. The best choice might be to stay out of it and just watch."
"Saint Relic?"
Hearing this term, Fang Cheng couldn’t help showing an even greater curiosity in his eyes.
..................
In a dimly lit cave, rows of torches were lit, illuminating the intricate passageways.
This place seed to have been dug out and expanded, with many rooms resembling a subterranean palace still under developnt.
At the end of the connecting corridors, there was a huge cavern, half-natural, half-manmade.
There was a pyramidal altar made of volcanic rock in the center of the cave.
Dozens of steps led straight to the summit, which bore no images or statues for worship, but instead, a large white stele.
A group of people sat cross-legged in front of the altar, muttering words as if praying softly.
They were the high-ranking mbers of the Truth and ditation Joint Practice, including the acting president Zheng Hongxin, the ntor Chen Jiandong, and others.
The stele’s design was particularly bizarre.
It seed to be made by combining and fusing the fossils of various monstrous bones.
The edges were uneven, while the middle was polished smooth, yet there were no inscriptions.
As the voices of the congregation’s prayers echoed through the cave, several barely discernible characters faintly appeared on the bone stele.
"It’s appeared!"
Sitting in front of the sacrificial altar, the high council of the True Thought Society suddenly let out a hushed exclamation.
Everyone imdiately looked up in unison.
They saw the Truth Stele in front, emitting a dreamlike sapphire glow, as characters, one after another, startlingly appeared upon it:
"Beasts trapped in the River of Blood, you are all sinners stained with bloodshed, but do not despair even when engulfed by darkness, for a light shall eventually shine forth..."
After the words "a light shall eventually shine forth" the inscription abruptly stopped.
Seconds later, all the characters on the stele gradually faded, until they vanished like smoke.
The light dimd, and a silence befell the assemblage.
Chen Jiandong gazed at the stele for a long while before he was the first to ask:
"Teacher, what does this an?"
Zheng Hongxin furrowed his brows, pondering:
"Taken literally, it seems a bloody massacre might occur here, yet there also seems to be so variable..."
Upon hearing this, the hearts of the high council of the True Thought Society skipped a beat, visibly shaken.
A senior mber imdiately asked with uncertainty:
"The answers given by the Truth Stele before were very clear, why does it seem to speak in riddles this ti?"
Zheng Hongxin’s face also carried an air of confusion, speculating:
"It has been 200 years, and the artifact weakens with each use; perhaps it’s nearing the end of its lifespan."
At this, he recalled the extraordinarily talented girl from two years ago and couldn’t help but feel a painful sting, his heart as if bleeding.
All present looked solemnly at the stele, which seed to be made of white bones, and agreed wholeheartedly.
This artifact, known as the "Truth Stele," was crafted by the founder of the society with all his heart and soul, and it is where the spirit of all mbers of the True Thought Society converges.
Initially, it was not of this ashen white appearance but radiated dream-like dazzling blue light from top to bottom.
Now, the light emitted by the stele had beco so faint that it was hardly noticeable unless looked at closely.
"We’ve already arranged the fishing team, the 200-year cyclical tide is upon us, and we shouldn’t expect a small harvest this ti."
A relatively young senior mber spoke with full confidence:
"As long as we integrate more Ancient Relics, the Truth Stele can continue for another 200 years without any problems."
This statent imdiately restored the confidence of the other senior mbers, who nodded in agreent.
As discussions ensued, soone suddenly asked:
"How should we deal with that Noah Organization ntioned in the last prophecy?"
Upon hearing this, Zheng Hongxin’s brow twitched, and he let out a cold huff:
"Just focus on your tasks, rest assured; with here, whoever dares offend the True Thought Society will surely have a one-way journey!"
As he spoke, he exuded a formidable aura which commanded respect without anger.
So of the older senior mbers couldn’t help but recall the awe-inspiring record of combat of this seemingly frail vice president.
Within the True Thought Society, only the whereabouts of the president, whose whereabouts were unknown, surpassed his combat prowess.
For many years, he has deliberately suppressed his strength, wishing to maintain a human body, hence appearing very low-key.
But the elders all knew that should the vice president fully unleash his powers, the aftermath would be truly terrifying.
After speaking, Zheng Hongxin stepped forward and with a light brush of his hand over the Truth Stele, a series of images flickered across its smooth surface.
They were images of people practicing ditation, including formal mbers of the True Thought Society as well as many tourists who had shown exceptional performance after attending ditation classes.
Zheng Hongxin observed intently for a mont, then instructed Chen Jiandong:
"Bring the newcors here tomorrow for consecration, afterwards they can be arranged to attend the ritual ceremony."
"What about the others?"
Chen Jiandong stood at attention, inquiring.
Zheng Hongxin ordered in a stern voice:
"Since they are of no use, drive them all away to prevent the enemy from infiltrating and disturbing our normal order."
"Starting from tomorrow, cleanse the building, full lockdown!"
