Starting with a Military Arms System I Rise to Dominate Another World Chapter 61 : Chapter 61
Chapter 61: The Port City of Lisbon, Starfall Magic Academy
“Master, I did not find any other enemies.”
Nika walked up and reported.
“Is this Luth really that confident?”
Ryan felt that Luth was far too confident in his own strength.
A B-rank Mage was still nowhere near invincible.
“Luth has always been that kind of arrogant, conceited person.”
Isabella spoke slowly.
She had known Luth for a long ti.
Back when her magic talent had only been D-rank, Luth had been the one who mocked her the most.
“Miss, are you all right? You are not hurt, are you?”
Nila hurried over.
“I’m fine. I’m just not used to it yet.”
Isabella shook her head.
This had been her first ti engaging in such an intense battle, so she was still sowhat unaccustod to it.
“All right. Before any more enemies catch up to us, let’s get out of here.”
Ryan spoke.
As for Isabella’s first real battle, Ryan was very satisfied.
Throughout the entire fight, Isabella’s performance had been impressive.
Only at the very end had she softened and let Luth go.
That was only natural.
After all, Luth was still a mber of the Jurgen Family.
Ryan, however, was used to eliminating every last enemy.
Otherwise, he would not even be able to sleep peacefully.
After getting his bearings, Ryan led the three won away at once.
The darkness of night gradually faded from the sky inch by inch, slowly giving way to the pale white of dawn, which then spread into a faint blush of red.
Not long after, the morning sun quietly peeked over the horizon.
They had fled for the entire night.
At last, by daybreak, they reached the neighboring town.
But even now, they were not truly safe.
The Jurgen Family’s pursuers would find this place soon enough.
They had to use the teleportation magic circle and leave before the Jurgen Family’s n caught up with them.
After fleeing all night, the four of them were already starving.
Ryan casually bought so portable food for breakfast.
After filling their stomachs, the four of them headed straight for the teleportation magic circle.
The teleportation magic circle here was very similar to the ones in the Kingdom of Mia. It would only activate after a certain number of people had gathered.
When they arrived, only a little over twenty people were waiting.
Even counting the four of them, there were still fewer than thirty people.
No one knew how long it would take to reach the minimum of one hundred people needed to activate it once.
Since it was only a matter of money, it was very easy to solve.
Whether on Blue Star in his previous life or in this world, money could solve ninety-nine percent of problems.
And now was no exception.
Ryan did not want any complications, so he directly paid the fares for the remaining seventy-odd people as well.
He demanded that the teleportation magic circle be activated imdiately.
The staff were stunned by Ryan’s extravagance.
With a re wave of his hand, he had paid the teleportation fees for more than seventy people.
For ordinary commoners, such an expense was simply impossible to bear.
Ryan, however, did not care about spending that little money.
The next mont, the staff activated the teleportation magic circle.
Ryan and the others were teleported away.
Only after they were enveloped by the light of the teleportation magic circle did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The Jurgen Family’s sphere of influence lay within the Kingdom of Candel.
Their influence in other countries was far less significant.
Ryan had set their destination as the Kingdom of Notheria, where the Mage Academy Fina attended was located.
...
Kingdom of Notheria, the port city of Lisbon.
Lisbon was situated along a gentle bay.
The city as a whole was laid out in a fan shape and divided into three layers from the center outward.
The innermost area was the noble district, built around the lord’s castle.
The middle layer was the comrcial district, where the streets were arranged in a grid.
All kinds of shops lined both sides of the streets, most of them two-story buildings, with stores on the ground floor and living space above.
The outermost area consisted of the commoner district and the port district.
The port district was the busiest area in Lisbon.
Ten towering wooden derricks stood on the docks for loading and unloading cargo. Thick hemp ropes were wound around them, with iron hooks hanging from the ends.
All kinds of ships were moored in the harbor. There were small fishing boats painted blue, with eye patterns painted on their prows. There were dium-sized cargo ships with broad hulls, their decks piled high with wooden barrels and crates stamped with the crests of different families. There were also three large warships fitted with bronze armor plating, with cannon ports on their decks and the flag of the Kingdom of Notheria flying from their masts. The flag had a blue background with a golden lion emblazoned upon it.
They had already been in Lisbon for three days.
During those three days, they had finally managed to recover.
The reason they had chosen to co here was because the Mage Academy Fina attended was located in this city.
The Mage Academy stood between the noble district and the comrcial district.
On the very first day Ryan arrived, he found the school.
This Mage Academy was called the Starfall Magic Academy.
The academy was enclosed by an ornate iron fence three ters high, ivy twining around the bars, its leaves a deep green beneath the sunlight.
The main gate was ford by a pair of arched bronze doors engraved with astrological diagrams.
The main school building was a four-story stone structure.
Each floor had a row of arched windows with brass fras. The glass was colored red, blue, purple, and more when viewed from outside, corresponding to classrooms for different magical elents.
The roof was built in a pointed style and covered with dark blue tiles etched with silver star patterns.
At the center of the roof stood a bronze weather vane shaped like an owl holding a scroll in its beak, turning with the wind to indicate its direction.
At each of the four corners stood a cylindrical tower. Each tower was topped with a golden do, and set into each do was a massive crystal that reflected dazzling light beneath the sun.
The school’s front entrance was a pair of double oak doors engraved with magic runes. The handles were brass serpents, with red gemstones set into their eyes.
A stone statue stood on each side of the doorway: on the left, an elderly mage holding a staff; on the right, an elental spirit with its wings spread wide.
The entire academy exuded an air of luxury.
Ryan wanted to ask the guards to report that he had co to find soone.
But the guards looked down on him.
After noticing that there was no fluctuation of magic power around Ryan, they imdiately knew that he was not a Mage.
The guards directly rejected his request.
Ryan did not want to cause trouble here, so he had no choice but to leave.
He found an inn near the academy.
He often gathered information on the first floor of the inn.
But after all this ti, there had been no progress at all.
“Master, did you choose to co here because you have an acquaintance here?”
The three won were all very curious why Ryan had chosen Lisbon.
“Yes, I do know soone here. She studies at the Starfall Magic Academy.”
Ryan nodded.
“The Starfall Magic Academy? Then does that an your friend is a Mage, Master?”
Nika’s eyes lit up.
She had only just learned that Ryan knew a Mage who studied at the Starfall Magic Academy.
The Starfall Magic Academy was very famous.
Any Mage who successfully graduated from it would usually go on to achieve great things in the future.
Although this world had more than just this one magic academy, the Starfall Magic Academy ranked extrely high among them.
The only one that surpassed it was the Royal Magic Academy in the royal capital.
But the Royal Magic Academy did not accept outsiders.
Only mbers of the royal family and related persons were allowed to study there.
In comparison, the Starfall Magic Academy was far more accessible.
As long as soone had magic talent, they could enroll there.
However, graduating required a certain level of strength.
D-rank Mages and C-rank Mages could not even graduate.
Normally, a B-rank Mage could complete all of the coursework and graduate within four years.
An A-rank Mage, on the other hand, could finish everything and graduate in less than four years.
As for an even higher S-rank Mage, the required ti was even shorter, usually no more than two years.
“A friend? To be precise, she’s my fiancée.”
Ryan continued.
“Your fiancée!!?”
Nika cried out in shock.
Nila and Isabella also turned to look at Ryan.
Ryan then told the three won about his background and about Fina.
Only then did the three of them gain a completely new understanding of him.
Nika, anwhile, beca sowhat uneasy.
As Ryan’s slave, this was the first ti she had learned that he had a fiancée.
Ryan’s fiancée would be her mistress.
Her na was Fina.
She wondered what kind of personality Fina had.
Please do not let her be the jealous type.
When Ryan saw Nika’s expression, he knew what she was worried about.
He then took Nika’s hand and said softly, “Don’t worry. Fina is very easy to get along with. Her personality is a lot like yours, so the two of you will definitely get along.”
“Mmm... I will definitely get along well with Mistress Fina.”
Nika nodded.
“A fiancée...”
Isabella looked at Ryan’s back and murmured in a low voice.
She had feelings for Ryan as well.
But because of her personality, she had never taken the initiative to say it aloud.
And besides, she was now a fugitive.
There was no telling when the Jurgen Family would track her down.
She did not want to bring Ryan any more trouble.
As though she knew what Isabella was thinking, Nila quickly pulled her aside.
“Miss, do you like Mister Ryan?”
Nila asked bluntly.
“Ah!! No... I don’t... I...”
When Isabella heard that, she stamred.
As she spoke, her cheeks instantly turned bright red.
She had never imagined Nila would be so direct.
Nila said nothing. She rely looked at Isabella with an unreadable gaze.
Under Nila’s gaze, Isabella lost more and more confidence.
At last, she muttered softly, “B-But he already has a fiancée.”
When Nila heard Isabella’s muttering, joy imdiately appeared on her face.
It seed her instincts had been right.
Isabella really had fallen for Ryan.
That was not surprising at all.
The Desert Eagle magic tool Ryan had made had allowed Isabella to cast off the label of trash in one fell swoop.
Moreover, Ryan had rescued Isabella and escorted her all the way here.
When a hero saved a beauty, it was always easy for the beauty to lose her heart.
Isabella was no exception.
After Isabella was safe, Nila began making plans for herself and her older sister.
By safely escorting Isabella out of the Jurgen Family’s castle, she had already repaid the favor she owed.
From now on, she wanted to live for herself.
At that mont, she recalled her older sister’s advice after they had reunited.
Traveling and adventuring together with Mister Ryan was a very good idea.
