BANG!
The huge base hit the stalactite behind it, breaking it into pieces.
Kyle saw the chaleon jumping to the side.
Naturally, it had managed to avoid the attack.
However, it didn't launch the second attack with its tongue, opting to pull it back instead.
'It's scared of direct attacks,' Kyle thought as he used Ti Slow to plan. 'The stone should have barely done anything if it had hit, and it would have had a chance of killing if it just continued.'
'It values safety over killing .'
In the short mont of safety, Kyle pulled out a handful of ore from one of his satchels and shoved it into his mouth.
Usually, it only took a couple of seconds for Kyle to refill his Ether storage, and it wasn't different right now.
Yet, a couple of seconds during such a fast battle was quite a lot of ti.
During that short pause, the chaleon managed to land on a new stalactite.
That was when it released a lot of Water Ether into the surroundings.
As Kyle touched another stalactite to shoot forward, he slipped.
Viscous water had suddenly co out of the stalactite.
The chaleon saw its chance and shot its tongue at Kyle again.
Suddenly, fire appeared around the falling Kyle.
The chaleon's tongue burst through the middle of the fire.
But there was nothing there.
The chaleon beca confused and pulled its tongue back.
At that mont, a hand ca out of the scattered flas above the tongue and grabbed it.
This was one of Kyle's new techniques, Fire Cloak.
Fire Cloak created a big fla, masking his position.
He didn't need to be in the center of the fla to use it.
This technique was primarily used to hide the user's location from the enemy.
While he had used Fire Cloak, Kyle had slowed his fall with his Soul.
Without Fire Cloak, the chaleon would have seen Kyle slowing his fall and would have adjusted its tongue's trajectory accordingly.
Kyle was pulled towards the chaleon as he held the tongue.
Yet, just an instant later, Kyle held his hamr to the tongue in front of him and positioned himself above it.
BANG!
As expected, the tallic spears ca out of the tongue again.
The spears only hit the hamr's head, shooting it away.
Kyle was shot diagonally upward with his hamr, and he landed on the ceiling with his feet, stones bursting out from around him.
BANG!
Then, Kyle shot forward with all of his speed, right towards the chaleon. BOOOM!
Kyle's hamr destroyed the stalactite the chaleon had been on.
Had been.
Naturally, the chaleon had already jumped to a new one.
BANG!
Kyle jumped off the destroyed stalactite and flew to another one.
Before the chaleon could launch another attack, Kyle destroyed the next stalactite again.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Kyle kept chasing the chaleon from stalactite to stalactite.
Every ti Kyle launched an attack, he had to use quite a bit of Ether due to the weight of his hamr.
With just his physical body, he couldn't launch the hamr with a lot of speed.
He needed to use the Ether of his Center as well.
anwhile, the chaleon was barely using any Ether since it was only using its physical power.
The chaleon hadn't used that water ability again after the first ti since it cost a lot of Ether.
As Kyle kept charging after the chaleon, he kept destroying stalactites.
Eventually, the chaleon landed on a stalactite that didn't have any other stalactites close to it.
Kyle approached, and the chaleon tried to find another stalactite to cling to.
Yet, the only thing it saw was raining rubble.
Big parts of the ceiling were collapsing, and there was no free path to another stalactite.
It could probably just jump through the rubble and grab another stalactite, but that didn't feel safe enough.
Instead, it remained on the stalactite and launched an attack at Kyle with its tongue.
As the tongue approached, the tal spears appeared again.
There was no way to grab onto it.
Kyle gritted his teeth and used three Boosts to get to the side.
Each Boost cost a lot of Ether, which was why he wanted to avoid using them.
The spears barely missed Kyle.
Then, the spears retreated back into the tongue as it turned around to attack Kyle again.
Beside the tongue, Kyle turned around and held his hamr forward.
BOOOOM!
The tip of the tongue hit Kyle's hamr, catapulting him towards the chaleon at insane speeds.
The chaleon jumped away.
BOOOM!
Kyle shot through the stalactite, hamr first.
While this was happening, he watched the chaleon jump onto the ceiling.
Its clawed feet dug into the ceiling, and even its sharp tail dug into it.
When the chaleon was clinging to stalactites, it was not clawing at them with its appendages.
In a way, it just held onto it like a man would hold onto a coconut tree while climbing it.
It could also use its appendages to stab into surfaces, but it avoided doing so.
The reason was stability.
The chaleon was quite heavy, and stone wasn't as hard for beings of their level as it was for normal people.
If it just used a bit too much power, it would break the stone and lose its hold.
BANG!
Kyle used a Boost and landed on the ceiling, in front of the chaleon.
He used his Soul to attach to the ceiling and looked at the chaleon in front of him.
It was only around two ters high and five ters long without its tail, but it was probably the most terrifying thing Kyle had ever fought.
Both of them stood opposite each other, evaluating the other party.
By now, the chaleon's eyes had stopped darting around.
Both of them were fully focused on Kyle.
Kyle narrowed his eyes.
'I can kill it!'
For the first ti during the fight, Kyle activated his Montum.
Then, he burst forward.
