Kyle exploded forward.
The chaleon imdiately reacted by shooting its tongue at him.

The only thing Kyle could do to defend himself against the tongue was to block it with his hamr.
From such a close distance, any kind of dodging would be too late.
Before the commands of Kyle's brain even entered his limbs, the tongue would have already crossed 75% of its way to him.
At most, he could move his arms a bit.
As soon as Kyle was hit by the tongue, he flew back.

However, Kyle's control over his Soul still allowed him to stick to the ceiling.

The next mont, Kyle unleashed a ton of techniques and hit the tongue again with his hamr.
The tongue flew to the side, and the chaleon tried to pull it back.
Yet, it wasn't that easy.
If it pulled its tongue back too quickly, the force moving it to the side would make the tongue slap the chaleon's body.
Kyle used this opportunity to charge forward.
As a reaction, the chaleon moved back, tearing the ceiling apart as its limbs rapidly created new holds.
Kyle quickly gained ground.
The chaleon was usually far faster, but on the ceiling, it couldn't move efficiently.
Since Kyle had a powerful Soul, he could stick to the ceiling and move at his usual speed.
The speed difference was gone.
Sadly…
The tongue entered back into the chaleon's mouth when Kyle was just five ters away.
From this distance, Kyle wouldn't even be able to react if it fired.
Whatever it aid at, it would hit.
This was the pivotal mont.
Everything depended on Kyle's action.
If he got hit, he would die.
If his hamr got hit, he would lose all the progress he had made until now.
He couldn't evade since he was too slow. Even if he jumped to the side, the chaleon would just follow him and adjust the trajectory of its tongue.
As Kyle took one last step, the chaleon was ready to fire.
When Kyle's right foot hit the ceiling, Fire Ether left it.

Four explosions of fire occurred beneath the chaleon's feet, destroying the stones it was grabbing onto.
At the sa ti, Kyle ducked.
The tongue fired.
The chaleon's body slowly started to fall.
The tongue missed.
It barely passed above Kyle's body, tearing the clothing on his back into pieces as well as filling his skin with abrasions.
BANG!
Kyle violently shoved his hamr upward, throwing the tongue into the distance.
The force made the chaleon's body spin.
tallic spears ca out of the tongue, but Kyle wasn't even close to it anymore.

Kyle exploded off the ceiling, shooting right towards the falling chaleon.
The chaleon couldn't control its fall anymore.
In a panic, it unleashed its water ability again, but there was no point to it since Kyle wasn't even touching anything right now.
He quickly caught up to the chaleon.
BANG!
Kyle used several Boosts on his hamr, further increasing its speed and power.
At the sa ti, tal Ether coated its pick.
The hamr hit the chaleon's back.
BOOOOOM!
Blood exploded out of the chaleon's back as its scaly hide broke.
Its body was definitely not as resilient as its tongue.
Yet, Kyle only managed to create a small fracture in the chaleon's back.
Its spine was not broken, and in total, this injury couldn't even be considered heavy.
However…
BANG!
The chaleon's body was launched towards the ground at incredible speeds.
At the sa ti, due to the counter force, Kyle stopped in midair.
BANG!
A gigantic explosion of water occurred as the chaleon was launched through the surface of the lake like a teorite.
The water coated Kyle's entire body as he looked downward with narrowed eyes.
In the air, he quickly used his Soul to change his positioning.
It was almost like Kyle was standing upside down in the air, ready to strike.
BANG!
Three quick Boosts ca out of Kyle's feet, shooting him towards the lake like a missile.
At that mont, the chaleon shot out of the lake again.
Its instincts scread at it.
The water was dangerous!
Yet, just when the chaleon ca out of the water, it ca face to face with Kyle.
All kinds of Ether covered Kyle's hamr, and he struck forward.
The flat side of Kyle's hamr hit the chaleon's head.
BOOOOOOOM!
The impact shoved the chaleon deep into the lake.
At the sa ti, its brain was shaken severely, confusing it.
It couldn't find out where up and down were, and it was just flailing around for a short mont.
But then, it regained its faculties.
BANG!
At that mont, an Arrowana buried itself into the chaleon's body.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three more Arrowanas shot into the chaleon's body. None of the injuries were severe enough to kill it, but they were already more significant than what Kyle had achieved.
In a panic, the chaleon rapidly kicked the water, its powerful legs creating explosions with every movent.
It shot out of the water again.
BOOOOOM!
Just to be hit by Kyle's hamr again.
Once more, the chaleon was pushed into the underwater domain of the Arrowanas.
The Arrowanas were not stupid.
They knew that this was the predator that had hunted them for the past years.
This was their shot at getting rid of it, once and for all!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three more Arrowanas buried themselves into the chaleon's body.
CRACK!
At that mont, tal spears appeared all over the chaleon's body, killing all the Arrowanas.
It looked up and saw Kyle standing on top of the surface, looking back.
The chaleon shot to the side.
More Arrowanas appeared, and they chased after it.
Kyle ran after the chaleon, but they were no longer on the ceiling.
With beings of their level, water's inertia didn't matter anymore.
The chaleon jumped out of the water at almost the sa speed as if it had jumped off a stone.
Kyle couldn't reach it in ti.
