Chapter 988: Saving His Mother-In-Law [1]
Zhuo Yue slowly turned her head and looked in their direction, her eyes still dazed. But when they met Max’s, her bloodshot eyes quickly regained focus and clarity.
She suddenly moved her lips slightly and a weak, hoarse and cold voice sounded, “You… Help me…”
Nie Haolong was stunned, then he turned to look at Max, who quickly regained his posure, not wanting to be caught by him staring at his mother with so… weirdly.
“Chen…” Nie Haolong opened his mouth but then hesitated. After a moment, though, he asked, “You can help her?”
This was the first time his mother had looked someone in the eyes and asked for help. Moreover, her gaze was filled with hope and pleading as if she firmly believed he could help her.
“I believe so.” Max nodded, his expression solemn. Then he suddenly turned around and walked out of the room.
“Where are you going?” Nie Haolong hurriedly asked, and almost reached out to stop him.
“I need to talk to Xiaolu for a moment. You stay here. I’ll be back soon.” Leaving these words to tell him he wasn’t leaving, Max headed out of the room and came to the kitchen where Nie Xiaolu was washing dirty dishes.
She looked at him in question.
“I need to talk to you.” said Max, unable to hide the urgency in his voice.
Nie Xiaolu wiped her hands and turned around, “Is it about mother?” she asked, concerned.
“Yes.” nodded Max and told her, his voice solemn, “She is overflowing with Yin Energy and I’m afraid…. She might not be able to survive the next time it flares.”
“What? Why?” For the first time, Nie Xiaolu lost her calm, “I saw her just a while ago. Her condition didn’t seem worse, in fact she looked a bit… better…”
While speaking, her heart constricted as realization struck her. It wasn’t that she had gotten better but that she had reached her final moments and her body was using up everything to keep her alive, and it naturally improved her plexion a bit.
Shua!
Her face paled and she staggered. Max hurriedly supported her and told her, “It’s not too late. I can still save her.”
“Please help her.” Nie Xiaolu pleaded, tears in her eyes.
“I will.” Max nodded seriously.
…
Nie Haolong was surprised when Max returned with Nie Xiaolu and she asked him to leave the room to Max. And seeing their expression, an uneasy feeling took root in his heart.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
“Mother’s condition is serious. Brother Chen will try to help her.” Nie Xiaolu briefly explained as she grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the room.
Giving Max one last look, she closed the doors shut. Then she pulled Nie Haolong out of the house and arrived in the courtyard despite his protests—she didn’t want him or herself to hear anything happening in the room.
“Xiaolu!” Nie Haolong finally couldn’t take it and flung her hand away, shouting at her, “Tell me what’s going on?”
Nie Xiaolu didn’t mind him shouting. After taking a deep breath, she slowly told him what Max had said. In case he would doubt Max’s claims, she also told him how he had recognised her constitution and knew of methods to help her.
Nie Haolong’s anger from not knowing anything calmed down but he became concerned about his mother’s life.
Could Gu Chen really save their mother? And what if he was wrong, after all he hadn’t diagnosed her? What if instead of helping her, he ended up worsening her situation?
Countless uneasy thoughts flashed in his mind as he paced back and forth while staring inside the house. He wanted to rush in and see what was happening but afraid that it would make things worse, he held back.
‘Please… save her Chen.’ He finally muttered in his heart.
Just like him, Nie Xiaolu was also extremely anxious but the confident look in Max’s eyes she saw helped her remain calm enough and not let her thoughts wander too much.
…
In Zhou Yue’s room, Max walked towards the bed after the siblings left, his gaze slowly heating up.
Zhou Yue stared at him with the same hopeful and pleading look in her eyes, her lips still moving softly, uttering the same words again, “Help me…”
Max stood by the bedside and said, “Aunt Yue, I’m Gu Chen, you remember me, right?”
A hint of recognition flashed in Zhou Yue’s eyes.
“…Yes… I do. Chen’er… please… help me… I don’t want to… die.” She spoke, the hopeful look in her eyes being stronger.
Max took a breath, feeling admiration in his heart. Not only was she aware of her current condition, something very difficult to achieve for ordinary people, but also even after the years of suffering, her will to live hadn’t been destroyed.
Max sat beside her and looked down at her, “Aunt Yue, your instincts are right. I can indeed take away your pain and let you recover, allowing you to live like a normal person. In fact, I can even let you bee a cultivator.”
Zhou Yue’s eyes brightened, and her lips began trembling, “…Please…”
Max didn’t hurry, it was important to let her know of some things in advance, though he doubted it would affect her decision.
“But, Aunt Yue, you might not be fortable with my method.” He said, “To help you, I need to extract the potent Yin Energy torturing you day and night without causing you any harm in the process and the only way I can do so is to… have sex with you.”
Zhou Yue’s eyes flickered for a moment, as though she was surprised. Then she murmured again, “Do it… Help me.”
“Okay.” Max nodded, “Please close your eyes and take slow and deep breaths.”
Zhou Yue did as told.
Max stood up, and shed his clothing instantly. After removing the thick blanket covering her, he untied the ropes binding her legs and got on the bed between them.
Hiss!
When he pulled up the skirt she was wearing and his thighs touched her legs, a chill seeped into his bones, making him inhale sharply.
When he pulled down her underwear and saw the place between her legs, his breath hitched and his bloodline began heating up with desire.
