Now reading: Chapter 1021: A Real Immortal? from Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time, a Eastern novel by Grandvoiddaoist.

Han Yu and the others stood frozen beside the softly illuminated river as the reality of Lin Mu’s words fully settled into their minds.

An Immortal.

Not a legend.

Not so ancient story passed down through jade slips and faded records.

A real living Immortal had just stood before them casually while holding a red cat nad Shrubby on his shoulder.

The realization alone made their scalps turn numb.

For cultivators of the Violet Eve World, immortals were beings beyond imagination. Entire sects were built upon the dreams of reaching immortality. Countless geniuses had died pursuing ascension. The Blood Sect itself had ruled for hundreds of thousands of years largely because of the legacy left behind by those who had ascended.

And now...

One of those beings had appeared in front of them so casually that it almost felt unreal.

Han Yu’s heart pounded heavily.

Even after all the sches he had orchestrated and all the terrifying existences he had encountered, nothing compared to this.

He forced himself to calm down.

Fear would accomplish nothing now.

If this man truly wished to harm them, they would already be dead.

Han Yu understood that clearly.

Still, there were questions he needed answers to.

He swallowed once before speaking carefully.

"Are you from the Immortal Realm?" Han Yu asked slowly. "Did you co for the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect?"

The mont those words were spoken, the atmosphere grew even more tense.

Qing Luan and Xuan Qing unconsciously moved closer toward Han Yu while Madam Cold Fang’s gaze remained locked firmly onto Lin Mu.

Depending on this man’s answer everything could change.

Their plans.

Their future.

Their lives.

Even the fate of the entire Blood Continent.

Lin Mu looked mildly amused.

"You’re half right," he said with a gentle smile. "I am indeed from the Immortal Realm."

The four of them instantly felt their hearts sink.

Even though they had already guessed it... Hearing direct confirmation still struck them like a hamr.

An immortal.

A real one.

Qing Luan subconsciously stepped backward. Xuan Qing’s breathing beca uneven. Even Madam Cold Fang’s cold expression wavered for a brief mont. They finally understood why the man felt so strange.

Why he could see through their cultivation.

Why Madam Cold Fang’s spiritual sense had rebounded uselessly.

Why Han Yu’s soul felt insignificant compared to his presence.

Because they were not standing before a normal cultivator.

They were standing before a being who had surpassed mortality itself.

"Immortal..." Han Yu muttered softly.

His voice carried disbelief despite everything.

"A real Immortal."

Lin Mu chuckled slightly.

"You’re the first person to guess it correctly," he said.

Then his expression beca calr again.

"As for your second question, I’m not here for that sect. At least not directly."

The four imdiately looked confused.

Relief appeared first.

Then confusion followed afterward.

If he was not here for the Blood Sect, then why had he appeared here?

The Blood Sect had only recently contacted the Immortal Realm. Surely this could not rely be coincidence. Madam Cold Fang finally gathered enough courage to continue.

"Why are you here?" she asked carefully.

Han Yu also stared intently at Lin Mu.

The immortal looked toward the river quietly for a mont. The lantern lights reflected across the flowing water while the night breeze gently stirred his robes.

"You can say I’m exploring," Lin Mu replied.

"Exploring?" Qing Luan repeated with raised brows.

Lin Mu nodded faintly.

"This world is unique," he said. "Beautiful too."

Then his eyes slowly narrowed slightly.

"And yet..."

His voice beca quieter.

"Evil seems to rule it."

The mont he spoke those words...A faint aura escaped him.

Just a trace.

A tiny trace.

Yet all four of them instantly felt as though an entire mountain had descended upon their shoulders.

Han Yu’s knees almost buckled, Madam Cold Fang’s ice Qi destabilized violently, while Qing Luan and Xuan Qing both turned pale imdiately. The pressure vanished almost as quickly as it appeared.

Yet the brief mont alone fully confird one thing.

This man truly stood on a level beyond their understanding.

He had not attacked them.

He had not used techniques.

He had not even released his power intentionally.

And yet a re accidental leak of his aura nearly overwheld them completely.

Han Yu’s heart trembled.

At this mont he fully understood why immortals were treated as legendary existences.

Compared to this man...

Even the Blood Sect Ancestors felt insignificant.

Han Yu forced himself to stabilize his thoughts.

Then he asked the most important question.

"Are you going to help the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect?" he asked firmly.

Lin Mu blinked once.

Then he looked genuinely puzzled.

"Oh, nothing like that," he replied casually. "Why would I do that?"

The four visibly relaxed.

Even Madam Cold Fang’s shoulders loosened slightly.

Han Yu however continued carefully.

"Then... are you going to oppose the Blood Sect?"

Lin Mu looked thoughtful this ti.

"I don’t know," he answered honestly. "At least not yet."

His gaze drifted toward the distant horizon.

"I need to see the whole picture first."

Han Yu felt slightly disappointed.

A part of him had secretly hoped this immortal would simply destroy the Blood Sect imdiately. But another part of him knew such thoughts were foolish.

Soone like Lin Mu probably viewed the conflicts of the Violet Eve World very differently than they did.

Still the fact that he did not support the Blood Sect already felt like enormous fortune.

Lin Mu finally turned around afterward.

"Perhaps I’ll see you all again later," he said calmly. "For now though, I should go."

"Wait!" Han Yu called instinctively.

There were still countless questions he wanted to ask.

About immortals.

About the outside worlds.

About the barrier surrounding the continent.

About ascension.

But before he could continue, Lin Mu vanished.

Completely vanished.

No movent.

No flight.

No illusion.

No talisman.

He simply disappeared from existence itself.

The four imdiately froze.

Qing Luan looked around frantically.

"Where did he go!?"

"Did he turn invisible?" Xuan Qing asked quickly. "So concealnt talisman?"

"No..." Madam Cold Fang muttered slowly.

Cold sweat covered her forehead now.

"He didn’t turn invisible."

Her voice carried genuine disbelief.

"He simply teleported away."

The others stared at her.

"Just like that?" Qing Luan asked in shock. "Without any formation? Without talismans?"

Madam Cold Fang nodded slowly.

"I sensed the spatial fluctuations."

Han Yu also imdiately spread his soul senses outward.

A mont later he inhaled sharply.

"He really did teleport."

The surrounding space still carried faint distortions. The traces were extrely subtle yet unmistakable.

Han Yu felt his mind spin slightly.

Spatial movent techniques existed in the Violet Eve World.

But all of them required enormous preparation.

Teleportation arrays.

Talismans.

Formation anchors.

Specific coordinates.

Even then the process was unstable and extrely difficult. Yet Lin Mu had casually disappeared into thin air like walking through a doorway. Han Yu suddenly rembered the Blood Sect’s ergency teleportation array.

That alone was treated like a supre secret treasure.

Compared to what Lin Mu just displayed... It felt primitive.

The group remained silent for a while afterward.

The bustling night market around them still continued normally.

People laughed nearby.

Vendors shouted.

Lanterns floated gently across the river.

Yet for the four of them...

Everything had changed.

Because tonight they had learned sothing terrifying.

Immortals were real.

And one of them was now wandering their world freely.

Qing Luan finally spoke softly.

"What do we do now?"

No one answered imdiately.

Han Yu stared toward the empty place where Lin Mu had disappeared.

His thoughts churned endlessly.

An immortal had appeared.

One who seed neither allied with the Blood Sect nor openly hostile toward them.

One who could see through his soul instantly.

One who carried a terrifying red cat stronger than the Blood Sect Ancestors.

And perhaps most importantly...

One who seed interested in the Violet Eve World itself.

Han Yu slowly exhaled.

He realized his plans might no longer be the greatest variable in the world anymore.
