Seeing Han Yu look at the token with childlike curiosity, the man behind the desk cleared his throat.

"That token proves your status as a recruit. If you lose it, you'll have to pay a hefty fine for a replacent," the man warned. "And trust , you don't want that."

Han Yu gulped. He had already lost a copper coin just this afternoon when Xu Qing had unceremoniously dropped him from the sky. Losing an official sect token? That sounded like a nightmare.

Xu Qing gave him a knowing look. "Try not to lose it in a latrine or sothing."

Han Yu nearly choked on air. "Wha—who do you think I am?!"

Xu Qing smirked but said nothing.

"Rember, you have to keep it until you finish your disciple assessnt. Once you pass, you will be given an official token of an Outer Court Disciple," the man explained further.

"Disciple assessnt? You an I'm not done yet?" Han Yu asked in surprise.

"Of course not," Xu Qing replied. "They still need to do a formal assessnt of your talent and skills. You think getting into our sect is that easy?" She raised a brow.

"Ah... I understand," Han Yu replied, not understanding at all but deciding it was best not to argue.

With that done, the man behind the desk rely cleared his throat and gestured toward the exit. "That concludes the registration. Welco to the Twin Leaf Peak Sect, Recruit Han Yu."

Han Yu exhaled deeply. He was officially in. Now, all he had to do was survive.

"Speaking of assessnt, when's the next batch starting?" Xu Qing inquired.

"Let check, Senior Sister," the man said as he held the jade slip. "Ah! You're in luck."

"Is there one soon?" Xu Qing asked.

"Indeed, there's one today itself," the man replied. "Of course, if the recruit is not in the best state and is tired, he can skip this one and take the next one." He added the last part after noting that Han Yu looked like soone who had been dragged through a wheat field backward.

"What do you say?" Xu Qing decided to let Han Yu decide for himself.

"I can do it!" Han Yu said, pounding his chest with full confidence.

To him, there was no use in waiting around. It wasn't like he could get stronger in whatever extra ti he would get anyway.

"Enroll him in the batch," Xu Qing instructed.

"As you wish, Senior Sister." The man quickly did it. "The assessnt will start in two hours, so it would be best that you rush. He will be joining the assessnt with the recruits brought in from the southern regions," the man explained.

"Alright." Xu Qing nodded and took off with Han Yu.

Along the way, though, Han Yu was curious about sothing.

"Didn't you return before others? How are there more people here?" Han Yu asked.

"The recruitnt happens in batches, divided into four regions. The Southern Region was sent a month ago, and the Northern Region was now. You're part of that," Xu Qing answered.

"Ah, that ans the Eastern and Western regions are still left?" Han Yu asked.

"Yes. They should all have joined three months from now," Xu Qing replied.

"Oh! Looks like there's going to be a lot of people." Han Yu wondered what kind of people would be there. "They should all be around my age, right?" he thought to himself.

Fifteen minutes later, Xu Qing and Han Yu arrived at the assessnt area, which was built in the middle of all peaks. It was a large square, three kiloters wide and equally as long.

It was paved with stone tiles that made it look like so military training ground. Three pavilions were erected around the ground, with two small ones of equal height on the east and west and one tall pavilion towards the north.

On this ground, Han Yu could see hundreds of children waiting with several disciples on the southern side.

Finally, in the middle of the ground, a dais was set up on which a five-ter-tall stone tablet was erected. In front of this tablet, a small uneven crystal was placed. A rather fierce-looking elder sat on a chair beside the tablet, looking at everyone with a stern gaze, as if daring them to disappoint him.

"Oh! Is that Senior Sister Xu Qing?" one of the disciples spotted her approaching.

"How's she back already?"

"Yeah, didn't she leave just three days ago or sothing?"

"You don't think she gave up and ca back early?"

The disciples quickly began to gossip. Xu Qing ignored them, though, and walked straight ahead.

"Senior Sister, please." One of the Outer Court disciples quickly brought over a chair for her to sit.

She sat there silently, exuding an air of cold beauty.

"Ah~ Senior Sister is as beautiful as always," the other disciples couldn't help but whisper amongst themselves.

Han Yu, though, found it all strange.

"Why's she acting like this? Where's her angry deanor?" Han Yu couldn't help but wonder.

He had no idea about the facade Xu Qing put up in front of the other disciples.

There was still so ti before the assessnt began, and more people were still arriving. Han Yu continued to look around, checking out his 'competition.'

"Hmm... they don't look particularly strong," Han Yu thought to himself.

Most of the children were the sa age as him, but there were also so that looked quite young. Many were dressed in the clothes of commoners, but there were a few well-dressed children as well.

"Whoa, that kid is so small. Is he six or seven years old?" Han Yu was surprised soone like that was also brought in.

But then he noticed a child who was not only well-dressed but was also carrying a sword on his back.

"Damn, he must be from a rich family. He's already got a sword," Han Yu muttered.

Ti passed quickly as Han Yu continued to look around, trying to analyze everyone as well as he could.

"I need to know who can be a challenge for ," Han Yu thought to himself and reckoned that there weren't more than twenty individuals who looked any strong.
