Han Yu did not have to wait long after sending the ssage through the jade slip.

Barely a few minutes had passed when he sensed sothing unusual in the sky.

At first it was only a faint disturbance in the spiritual energy above the Fifth Rib Peak. But within seconds the disturbance intensified, turning into a rushing torrent of Qi that parted the clouds like a blade slicing through silk.

Han Yu stepped out of his cave and looked up.

A bright blue streak tore across the sky.

It was not subtle.

The streak glowed with a cold brilliance, leaving behind a faint trail of frost-laced energy that slowly dissipated into the wind. Even from this distance, the chill within that aura was unmistakable.

Han Yu's eyes narrowed slightly.

"He ca personally…" he muttered.

And he was not the only one who noticed.

All across the Fifth Rib Peak, outer disciples erged from their caves and courtyards, looking up with puzzled expressions. So shaded their eyes as they tried to track the streak's movent. Others whispered among themselves in confusion.

Flying cultivators were not uncommon within the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect. Elders and powerful disciples often traveled through the air, sotis riding spirit artifacts, sotis using their own cultivation.

But they rarely ca here.

The Fifth Rib Peak was ho to outer court disciples. It was one of the lowest ranked peaks within the sect, a place where minor talents struggled to climb upward. Powerful figures had little reason to visit.

Which made the sight above them even more surprising.

"That's soone flying directly… without a spirit artifact," one disciple muttered. "They're definitely Nascnet Soul realm."

"And look at the energy trail," another said. "That isn't blood Qi."

Indeed, it wasn't.

The sect's most common cultivation thod, the Slaughtering Moon Blood Baptism Art, produced a crimson aura when used at high speeds. Blood Qi would ripple through the air like waves of scarlet mist.

But the streak above them was blue.

A deep, icy blue that radiated bone-chilling cold.

Only a handful of cultivation paths within the sect could produce such an effect.

"Kidney Peak," soone whispered.

The na spread like wildfire.

The Kidney Peaks were among the most prestigious peaks in the sect. Their disciples were known for cultivating powerful ice elental techniques that were both rare and deadly.

Yet even then, their mbers rarely left their domain.

Which raised the question.

"What would soone from Kidney Peak want here?"

The speculation began instantly.

"Maybe soone offended them."

"Or soone stole sothing."

"Or perhaps they're hunting soone."

A group of disciples near the stone path began whispering excitedly.

One of them snorted. "Maybe Hou Luli pissed soone off again."

That na caused several people to glance toward another part of the peak.

Hou Luli was well known among the outer disciples. Not because she was powerful, but because she was troubleso. Her sharp tongue and fearless attitude had earned her more than a few enemies.

"Wouldn't surprise if she borrowed spirit stones from soone important and never paid them back."

"Or maybe she gambled again."

"Or maybe she tried to fight soone she shouldn't have."

Laughter rippled through the group.

But that laughter died quickly.

Because the blue streak was descending.

It slowed abruptly, its speed dropping from a blur to sothing the eye could follow. Frost Qi spiraled outward as the figure within the streak revealed itself.

Then it landed.

Right on the Fifth Rib Peak.

And the mont everyone saw the robes of the arriving figure, the entire peak fell silent.

Those robes were unmistakable.

They were deep blue, embroidered with silver patterns that resembled frozen rivers. The fabric shimred faintly with frost Qi, and the layered structure marked them clearly as belonging to soone of extrely high status.

This was not an ordinary Kidney Peak disciple.

This was the Second Kidney Peak Head.

Even if his face was not widely known among the outer disciples, his robes were legendary. Stories of them circulated through the sect's lower ranks like myth.

For several seconds, no one spoke.

The disciples simply stared.

"Peak… head?" soone whispered hoarsely.

Shock rippled through the crowd.

Why would a Peak Head co here?

Even more confusing was where he had landed.

He stood near one of the cave entrances halfway up the slope. Several disciples glanced toward it instinctively, recognizing the area.

"That's… near Hou Luli's cave."

The confusion deepened.

But before anyone could speculate further, they noticed sothing else.

Soone was already standing there.

Ju Fan.

Han Yu stood calmly near the cave entrance, hands folded respectfully before him.

The mont the Second Kidney Peak Head landed, his gaze locked onto Han Yu. There was no greeting, no ceremony, no discussion.

Instead, the old man stepped forward.

He placed a single hand on Han Yu's shoulder.

Then they disappeared.

No, not vanished.

WHOOSH

They shot into the sky.

The Peak Head lifted off with such speed that a sonic ripple burst through the air, sending frost spiraling behind them like shattered glass.

Within seconds, the blue streak was once again racing across the heavens.

Leaving behind a stunned mountain of disciples.

For several long monts, no one moved.

Then the whispers began.

"What… what just happened?"

"Did the Peak Head just take Ju Fan away?"

"Why him?"

"Did Ju Fan offend him?"

"No way… if that were the case he'd already be dead."

"Maybe he's being punished?"

"But why personally?"

"Or maybe… maybe it's a reward?"

That last suggestion was t with laughter.

"Reward? Ju Fan?"

Yet doubt lingered in their eyes.

The rumors began multiplying instantly.

So claid Ju Fan had secretly stolen sothing from the Kidney Peaks.

Others said he had discovered a rare resource and reported it.

Soone even suggested Ju Fan had been selected for so experintal cultivation thod.

The wildest theory was that Ju Fan had sohow caught the attention of the Peak Head personally.

And the longer people discussed it, the more exaggerated the rumors beca.

None of them knew the truth.

And that only made the story more powerful.
