High Elder Hagun said nothing, but his spirit sense extended outward, probing the puppet’s internal workings.

At the sa ti, the hall’s embedded array activated fully. Invisible threads of energy scanned the construct, recording its movent speed, energy consumption, structural stress distribution, and responsiveness.

Han Yu continued.

He demonstrated directional movent, terrain adjustnt, and stability under uneven footing by placing a few irregular stones beneath the puppet’s path. The construct adapted imdiately, its joints adjusting angles in real ti to maintain balance.

Then ca the tools.

With a subtle command, one of the puppet’s arms shifted. Along the chain belt running its length, several tools slid into motion. A drill moved forward and locked into place with a soft click.

The drill spun.

Not intensely.

But with controlled, consistent torque.

Han Yu adjusted the output slightly, and the speed changed accordingly. The elders watched closely, their spirit senses tracing the flow of Qi through the tool chanism.

He disengaged the drill.

A small hamr replaced it.

Then a vibrating chisel.

Each transition was smooth, efficient, and required no physical interference from Han Yu. The system responded entirely to his input and the puppet’s internal coordination.

For several minutes, Han Yu continued demonstrating the basic capabilities of the puppet. Throughout this ti, the hall’s array continued recording every parater, while both elders examined the formation circuits and energy pathways with increasing focus.

Finally, Elder Jurhanzi spoke.

"That will be sufficient for basic operation."

His gaze shifted toward the far side of the hall.

"Bring in the materials."

Several attendants moved quickly, placing a series of rocks in front of the puppet. Each rock was labeled and categorized based on composition and hardness.

Han Yu recognized them imdiately.

Grey Spirit Tungsten Ore.

Dense.

Extrely hard.

Difficult to penetrate even with high force.

Next to it was a chunk of Alabaster Talc.

Soft.

Brittle.

Easily damaged.

Between these extres were several interdiate samples, each representing different mineral densities and structural characteristics.

Han Yu took control again.

The puppet approached the first sample.

Its analysis core activated.

A faint pulse of energy scanned the surface of the tungsten ore. The core processed the density, hardness, and internal structure before selecting the appropriate tool.

The drill.

It engaged with steady pressure.

The elders watched carefully as the drill penetrated the ore with controlled force, maintaining stability throughout.

Next ca a softer material.

The puppet switched tools automatically.

A smaller hamr.

Then a chisel.

The movents beca lighter.

More precise.

The rock split cleanly without crumbling.

As the tests continued, a pattern beca clear.

The puppet operated mostly independently.

Han Yu’s role was limited to adjusting paraters when the type of material changed significantly. For similar materials, the analysis core adapted on its own, choosing appropriate tools and regulating output without intervention.

The elders exchanged a brief glance.

There was a slight frown on both their faces.

But it was not disapproval.

Han Yu recognized it imdiately.

They were thinking.

Evaluating.

Identifying potential improvents.

After several rounds of testing, Elder Jurhanzi finally spoke again.

"This level of functionality is already sufficient for standard mining operations."

Han Yu felt a small sense of satisfaction.

But he remained silent.

Because he knew this was not the real test.

Jurhanzi continued.

"However, the current mining operation we are concerned with is... different."

His tone grew more serious.

"The ore there is far more fragile."

Han Yu inclined his head slightly.

"I would be willing to test the puppet there directly, if permitted."

Before Jurhanzi could respond, High Elder Hagun spoke.

"That will not be necessary."

The words were calm, but final.

Han Yu’s brief hope of imdiate access to the mine dimd slightly.

Instead, Hagun lifted his hand.

From his storage ring, a large mass appeared and landed on the testing platform with a heavy thud.

A boulder.

At first glance, it appeared unremarkable.

Dark grey and black in color.

But upon closer inspection, small white crystalline specks could be seen embedded within it. And within those white crystals, faint violet hues shimred subtly.

Han Yu’s eyes sharpened.

This was not ordinary rock.

"This is a raw sample from the Violet Spirit Quartz mine," Hagun said.

Han Yu stepped closer.

"May I examine it?"

The elders gave a slight nod.

Han Yu extended his spirit sense.

Imdiately, he felt resistance.

His perception penetrated only two or three inches into the surface before it was obstructed. In so areas, it went slightly deeper. In others, it barely entered at all.

He frowned.

"This is..."

He withdrew his sense slightly.

"What is the mineral composition?" he asked.

Elder Jurhanzi answered.

"Hematite. Black Blood Silica. And Violet Spirit Quartz."

Han Yu’s eyes narrowed in understanding.

"Black Blood Silica..."

He stepped closer again, this ti analyzing visually and with controlled probing.

The problem beca clear.

Black Blood Silica was not an ordinary mineral.

It ford in regions saturated with impure blood Qi. Over ti, this impurity altered the structure of the silica, making it highly unstable and resistant to spiritual interference.

It disrupted the flow of spirit Qi.

It interfered with spirit sense.

And when combined with hematite, the problem beca worse.

Hematite itself was dense and durable.

Together, the two created a layered structure with opposing properties.

Han Yu spoke slowly, organizing his thoughts.

"The hematite layer requires significant force to break. But the Black Blood Silica cannot withstand that sa force. And the quartz..."

His gaze shifted to the faint violet crystals.

"Is even more fragile."

Elder Jurhanzi nodded.

"That is correct."

Han Yu continued.

"If insufficient force is used, the hematite remains intact."

"If excessive force is applied, the quartz shatters."

"And if the force is not controlled precisely..."

He tapped lightly on the surface.

"The silica layer destabilizes."

"And causes structural collapse."

The elders watched him carefully.

Han Yu’s expression grew serious.

"This is not just a mining problem. It is a balance problem."

Every layer required a different level of force.

Every strike needed precision.

Too little.

Too much.

Or even slightly misplaced pressure...

And the entire structure could fail.

Which explained everything.

Why the mining was slow.

Why skilled cultivators were struggling.

Why even spirit sense could not fully guide the process.

Han Yu looked at the boulder again.

And for the first ti since entering the hall...

He felt the true challenge before him.
