After a round of inquiries, Lan Xue revealed the na of the traitor to Lan Xing. In such matters, there's no need for everyone to get involved; soone will handle it. Luo Zheng was more concerned about the start-up device and asked, "You got the start-up device from Sam Country to save your comrades. Am I right? Putting aside national interests and military duty, you're a man of loyalty, but that doesn't justify your actions. Where is it now?"
"I really don't know because I was deceived. When I got here, I found out my comrades had already joined Bloodsucker. After they got the device, they tried to persuade to join them too. I pretended to agree and took the opportunity to escape, but I was still discovered and that's when I ran into you." Cheng He hurriedly explained.
"What you're saying is only one side of the story, and I can't believe you. How can we find the start-up device?" Luo Zheng said coldly, his expression as stern as iron, letting the rain batter his face, soaking him completely.
"I really don't know, but I left a trace of thought; I installed a tracker inside the start-up device, which no one is aware of. The tracker can be remotely activated. The activation password is the four words 'Never Forget National Sha' spelled out, and the tracker's serial number is hx0001352800." Cheng He quickly said.
Upon hearing this, Luo Zheng was overjoyed and imdiately relayed the password and serial number to Lan Xing to track down quickly. Then he said to Cheng He, "If you're telling the truth, you can make up for your mistake, but it won't be enough to expunge your cri. However, as a soldier, I might consider giving you a chance to atone for your sins."
"Thank you." Cheng He stiffened, formally saluting Luo Zheng to express his gratitude. He solemnly said, "Thank you for giving the chance to rectify my mistakes. I would be content to die on the battlefield."
"You can only rest easy once the start-up device is retrieved, so don't die easily." Luo Zheng said coldly.
"Yes, sir." Cheng He saluted again, as if he had rediscovered the feeling of fighting for his country and people. His eyes reddened, and he seed to make so internal decision, filling him with fighting spirit.
"The tracker has been located; the coordinates will be sent to you imdiately." Lan Xing promptly said.
Luo Zheng picked up his phone and opened the map. A holographic map soon appeared, with a red dot flashing about thirty kiloters away. Seeing the holographic map, Luo Zheng's face relaxed, and he looked at Cheng He and said, "Let's go."
Everyone began to move into action. As for the bodies of the pursuers who were killed, they were casually tossed into the mountain forest, as a contribution to the wild beasts, and the team rushed towards the designated coordinates. Mountain Eagle and Zhou Gang went ahead to scout the way, while Luo Zheng, Lan Xue, and Ghost Hand kept an eye on Cheng He. Until Cheng He's true intentions were confird, no one dared to be careless.
Cheng He could utilize Sam Country to attack the base, so who knew if he might use them to attack other targets? As the torrential rain gradually ceased, the path beca increasingly difficult to traverse, and everyone was exhausted, forcing them to slow down. By nightfall, they reached a forested area where they stopped to rest, wary of the surrounding enemies, avoiding lighting a fire.
Luo Zheng sat on a large tree root exposed above the ground, with his gun cradled in his arms, calmly watching Cheng He sitting in front of him. He handed over a piece of dried at and said, "You've been to Bloodsucker's headquarters, right? How many people are there, and what's the defense situation? Are your forr comrades still there?"
"There are about three hundred people, grouped into teams of thirty. The headquarters is in a large cave, with wind power generation, the interior is all granite, very dry, and the cave connects to an underground river. The entrance is on a mountainside, covered with shrubs, so it's hard to detect from the outside." Cheng He quickly said.
"A place like that, how does Bloodsucker use it as a headquarters?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise.
"I'm not sure, but I noticed more injured soldiers recuperating and new recruits being trained there." Cheng He replied.
"I see." Luo Zheng pondered for a mont before asking, "Are the three hundred people you ntioned inclusive of the injured and new recruits? What about their weapons and equipnt?"
"They are included. There are about twenty injured, mostly veterans, who also act as the managent. There are about fifty new recruits, with no fixed number. As for weapons and equipnt, it's mostly light arms. I've seen RPGs, but the exact number is unclear. No fighter jets, a few heavy machine guns guard the cave entrance." Cheng He quickly responded.
"Interesting." Luo Zheng let out a cold laugh and said, "It seems this is only one stronghold. The old veterans, unwilling to leave the battlefield, stay here to manage and train newcors. Bloodsucker claims to be the fourth-ranking rcenary group in the world. They must have more than one stronghold, yet the outside world mistakenly believes this is the headquarters."
"It wouldn't be wrong to call it headquarters. There are many old soldiers who might be the core managent of Bloodsucker. The decisions discussed by these people, the entire Bloodsucker rcenary Group cannot disregard them. So, it's like a headquarters. I haven't seen any won, elderly, or children. In this sense, it may not be the headquarters, but it doesn't matter if it is. The important thing is the start-up device is inside." Cheng He casually said, with a slight frown, pondering sothing, his expression complex.
"We once found two bodies, look at these photos." Luo Zheng said, giving Ghost Hand a glance.
Ghost Hand nodded, quickly pulling out his phone and showing the photos to Cheng He. After looking at them, Cheng He's expression grew darker, showing sympathy, anger, and helplessness. Luo Zheng asked, "We confird they were your forr comrades. It's unexpected they didn't die for their country but t a tragic end in a foreign land instead."
"Yes, it's unexpected how quickly they changed, doing anything for profit." Cheng He said angrily, "Brothers who once lived and died together have now beco enemies exploiting and betraying . Isn't that one of life's greatest tragedies? I don't bla them because my life was saved by them. I could give my life back to them, but I didn't expect them to deceive . Maybe it's fate."
"The only thing you did right was installing the tracker." Lan Xue said coldly from the side.
"I initially installed the tracker to leave a backdoor. I understand the value of the start-up device. It may sound unbelievable, but I went there with bombs strapped all over , planning to detonate them if I couldn't save them. I didn't expect it to be a trap; I realized too late, but thankfully, there was a tracker, or it would have been troubleso." Cheng He said with a helpless smile.
"Is there a way to attack?" Luo Zheng inquired.
"The area near the entrance is full of hidden sentries, making a surprise attack impossible. A direct assault by day is unlikely; they'll hide in the woods or run to the cave. Night infiltration is slightly easier, but it requires ticulous planning. We could consider bypassing the periter's hidden sentries, then seizing the heavy machine guns at the cave entrance, which could be used offensively or defensively, and act accordingly." Cheng He suggested.
"Heavy machine guns at the cave entrance?" Luo Zheng pondered, his eyes gleaming in the night.
