The silent mountains, the dim woods were entirely still, the wind didn't move, birds didn't sing, insects were quiet, only the dim moonlight poured down, adding a touch of life to the deathly still woods. In a dark bush, the ninja calmly observed his surroundings, his cold eyes emitting a chilling light, watching the front with vigilance. Not finding anything suspicious, the sounds of pursuit behind could faintly be heard; the enemy had gone far, there was no ti to wait. Suddenly, stepping forcefully with his foot, he shot out like an arrow released from a bow, swiftly covering five or six ters.
"Pfft!" Just as the opponent covered five or six ters and stopped to catch his breath, Luo Zheng seized this rare pause to suddenly open fire. Being only seven or eight ters apart, even with extrely poor visibility, he accurately hit the opponent's eye with the help of a night vision device, killing him with one shot.
Having succeeded, Luo Zheng dashed forward in an arrow-like step to check. The bullet exited from the back of the head, piercing through the ninja clothes, indicating the opponent wasn't wearing bulletproof ninja clothes. He found only a knife on the ninja, with three triangular shurikens in his hand. These were clearly not simple hidden weapons. Unfamiliar with such shurikens, Luo Zheng confird the opponent had nothing else on him and quickly picked up the Japanese sword to retreat.
"Wait a minute," Lan Xue suddenly said.
Luo Zheng sidestepped under a bush and asked in a low voice, "What?"
"There must be more ninjas behind us. When they catch up and see this person dead, they'll definitely squat down to check the situation. It's a perfect sniping opportunity we can't miss," Lan Xue suggested.
"Okay, but not here; let's withdraw a bit further. Otherwise, we won't be able to get away either," Luo Zheng whispered. After quickly examining the terrain behind, he selected a spot and quickly retreated, with Lan Xue following tightly.
The two retreated about thirty ters, hiding behind a large tree. They raised their sniper rifles, taking aim in a kneeling position. Luo Zheng quickly ejected the bullet and replaced it with an incendiary bomb, signaling Lan Xue to also use incendiary bombs. In this dark night, the firelight could expose the enemy's position. Lan Xue imdiately understood and changed the magazine.
Soon enough, soone indeed approached. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng observed three ninjas forming a triangular formation. After noticing sothing amiss, two stopped to hide, while one at the front rushed forward to investigate. Luo Zheng held his fire, patiently waiting, and neither did Lan Xue. The two's minds were in sync, waiting for the perfect chance.
The front ninja inspected the scene, confird the body was one of their own and said sothing in a low voice. Seeing that the front ninja wasn't attacked, the two ninjas behind thought the target had fled far away, so they both dashed out of cover, squatting beside the deceased to check.
"Whoosh!" Almost simultaneously, Luo Zheng and Lan Xue both chose to fire. Two sniper incendiary bombs whistled out, cutting through the night in eerie lines of death. At a distance of just over thirty ters, the situation unfolded suddenly, leaving the ninjas with no ti to react, and two were instantly hit.
The incendiary bombs exploded, scattering countless flammable agents, clinging to their bodies. The intense heat ignited them instantly. The two ninjas let out shrill screams, collapsed to the ground, rolling in desperation to extinguish the flas on them, but how could the flammable agent be so easily extinguished? It ignited the surrounding dry grass.
The remaining ninja swiftly rolled on the ground, scrambled up, and sprinted wildly backwards. However, the forest's visibility was fairly open, and with the aid of the night vision device, Luo Zheng quickly locked onto him. This ti, he used a sniper bullet marked with a crosshair, focusing intently. Luo Zheng adjusted the sniping point with the enemy's running speed and route. Once he grasped the target's next position, he swiftly pulled the trigger.
"Whoosh!" The sniper bullet hissed, screeching with fury, carrying Luo Zheng's endless wrath and hatred, and instantly struck the target's back. The bullet head exploded, generating countless fragnts that flew and rolled at high speed, tearing apart the target's back muscle, and blood flowed out.
The bullet didn't penetrate the target's body but gravely wounded his back, with no intact flesh visible, and the target let out a piercing scream. The agony was worse than death; he wished he had simply been blown apart for a swift end. Seeing his successful snipe, Luo Zheng was overjoyed and gestured to Lan Xue to provide cover as he dashed forward quickly.
By then, the sound of the pursuing enemies drew near. Not far at all, Luo Zheng sped up, grabbing the Japanese swords from the two ninjas burned to death by the incendiary bombs. Rushing forward a few steps, he found the ninja with a mangled, heavily wounded back lying on the ground, barely alive, pitiful and desolate. Ignoring him, Luo Zheng quickly dodged the Japanese sword the enemy dropped and turned to run.
The pursuers were only about ten ters away; there was no ti to waste. Luo Zheng dared not underestimate them, sprinting past the two charred corpses. He left two button bombs and continued withdrawing quickly, soon regrouping with Lan Xue, glancing back to see a dozen enemies reaching the corpses. Luo Zheng quickly pressed the remote control.
"Boom!" Two button bombs exploded, producing a blazing bright light, illuminating the surroundings. Seizing the chance, Lan Xue swiftly fired, emptying the suppressed pistol's magazine. As the explosion's red light faded, more corpses littered the ground, yet no one knew where the enemy was.
Explosions and gunfire; all under the moonlit, silent woods seed so eerie and terrifying. The pursuing enemies were terrified; the usually formidable ninjas were reduced to four, one with a headshot, two burned alive by incendiary bombs, and another with his back shredded to bits, too ghastly and horrifying. Everyone looked around in shock and fear. If not for the officer's suppression, they would have retreated long ago.
Ordinary troops couldn't compare to the Special Forces, let alone a mysterious and formidable Soldier King unit like Luo Zheng's. Terrifying tactics, appalling lethality shattered the enemy's morale. Worse yet, the enemy didn't even know where the attackers were hidden, forcing them to lie down. Junior officers were communicating over radios, but Luo Zheng couldn't understand. Seeing the enemy had stopped pursuing, he gestured to Lan Xue, and the two quickly retreated.
Alternating cover, the enemy behind seed afraid and didn't pursue. The two quickly reached the canyon's entrance. Luo Zheng's eyes were as sharp as an eagle's as he coldly scanned the surroundings. The canyon was barely ten ters wide, with low trees and good visibility on the hillside. Quickly, he asked over the intercom, "Report the situation."
"In position," Mountain Eagle shouted.
"Wounded personnel have retreated three hundred ters for temporary rest, awaiting instructions," Ghost Hand reported.
"Need my people to go up and help? Brother Mountain Eagle's few might not be enough," Snow Leopard suggested.
"Alright, Mountain Eagle covers the hillsides. You cover the canyon entrance, construct your defensive positions. Ghost Hand, lead your n another two hundred ters back and prepare to camp, bandaging the wounded. Understand the composition of the wounded; we can't wander around with strangers we know nothing about. Lan Xing, assist with identity verification," Luo Zheng coldly commanded. Turning and looking back from where they ca, distant lights flickered; clearly, the enemy was coming again.
"A bunch of fools ignorant of their demise," Lan Xue said, looking at the approaching enemies with a hint of arrogance and confidence on her face.
