More than a dozen mbers of the Managent Law Enforcent Team were knocked to the ground, and the surrounding crowd erupted in cheers. Clearly, the unfair enforcent of these officers had sparked public outrage, but people didn't dare to resist due to certain reasons. The little sister looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, unable to comprehend how her usually calm and low-key brother could be so impulsive. However, it was quite satisfying. Holding Guoguo protectively in her arms, she looked at Luo Zheng with curiosity and asked, "Brother, is there going to be a problem?"
"The problem isn't big, at worst I'll get so punishnt. These scumbags actually tried to kill an elderly man. What would happen if that kick landed? Don't worry, there might be so trouble here. You protect the little girl; I'll handle this myself." Luo Zheng said as he dialed Lan Xue's number, briefly explaining the situation, and she agreed to take care of the aftermath imdiately.
After Luo Zheng finished the call, the little sister said worriedly, "Brother, these people are linked with thugs. You've beaten them, and they may not be able to do anything to you openly, but they'll definitely retaliate in secret. We aren't afraid, but I'm afraid that the mother and daughter might suffer. We have to clean this up properly. Earlier, didn't Guoguo seem upset? Do you know her?"
"Yes, her father was my old squad leader, a brother in life and death. I didn't expect the family to fall to this level. It's all my fault." Luo Zheng explained guiltily, squatting down and looking at the little girl, continuing, "Guoguo, don't be afraid. With Uncle here, we don't fear bad people. I'm Uncle Zhengzi, did you know? The Wolf Teeth bullet around your neck has my na on it."
"I know, my dad told about you when I was little. You also talked to on the phone, right? My mom recorded all those calls and plays them for every day. Why hasn't my dad co back yet? My mom takes care of and has to earn money; it's so hard. Do you know where my dad is?" the little girl said in a voice as clear as a bell.
As Luo Zheng listened, he couldn't hold back his tears. Since the tragedy at the outpost, he had sworn never to cry again in this lifeti. But at this mont, the softest part of his heart was touched once more, and feelings of regret, remorse, sha, and self-bla filled his mind.
"Uncle Zhengzi, why are you crying? My mom says a real man shouldn't cry." The little girl asked curiously, reaching out her small, tender hand to gently wipe away Luo Zheng's tears.
"Uncle isn't crying. Uncle is happy to see you. Once Uncle finishes handling things here, I'll take you to eat the yummiest food. You can have anything you want." Luo Zheng quickly said.
"Hmm, I've been wanting ice cream. But mom wouldn't let , saying it's too cold and would give a stomach ache. Actually, I know it's because mom doesn't have enough money. I still won't eat it." Guoguo said in her clear voice, but each word felt like a knife stabbing into Luo Zheng's heart, leaving him speechless with regret.
"Alright, we will eat; Auntie has money." The little sister, although not in the military, couldn't feel what Luo Zheng felt, but seeing his pained expression pricked her heart. She squatted down to comfort him, her face full of concern as she looked at Luo Zheng.
Luo Zheng lacked the courage to talk to the little girl any further, not even daring to glance at her. In his mind's eye, he could almost see the spirit of his old squad leader blaming him. Getting up slowly, the sound of police sirens and ambulance sirens rang in his ears.
The onlookers heard the police sirens and sympathetically glanced at Luo Zheng. So even urged him to run, but Luo Zheng didn't move. It wasn't in his nature to be a deserter. He stood coldly, motionless, watching the officers rush over. The police cars soon arrived, stopped, and two officers jumped out, looking around sternly, with surprise in their hearts. Over a dozen officers knocked to the ground, seemingly injured badly enough not to recover for one to two months without lying down. Quickly they asked, "What happened here? Who called the police?"
Luo Zheng coldly stepped forward and said, "I was the one who hit them."
The officers looked at Luo Zheng warily, feeling a sense of familiarity. After a mont, they rembered. Although they didn't know Luo Zheng's exact identity, they knew he had considerable influence; even the deputy director of the municipal bureau was willing to take his orders. Not soone they could easily offend, they approached with solemn expressions and asked in a low voice, "Hello, what exactly happened here?"
"You know ?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise, looking at the officer.
"I know of you but we haven't t." The officer quickly explained quietly, "I work for Director Shi Feng."
"Shi Feng, the head of the Major Cris Unit?" Luo Zheng looked at him in surprise, seeing him nod, his deanor relaxed a bit and said softly, "These bastards' actions could be ignored, that's understandable, but they shouldn't have beaten people. If beating people wasn't enough, they kicked the head. See that elderly man over there? He was nearly killed. I couldn't stand it anymore and kicked back. The others were not convinced and attacked in groups, but I took them all down. That's basically it. There are two surveillance caras at the intersection that should capture the details. Quickly secure the footage and report it to your deputy director."
"Yes." The officer saw that things were roughly what he had guessed; too many incidents of aggressive behavior by law enforcent had been reported, and it was well-known among the police. He took a look at the intersection's surveillance, installed by the school, and quickly instructed another officer, who glanced at Luo Zheng doubtfully, then rushed into the campus security office for the footage. This officer, deeply concerned, spoke quietly, "The Managent Law Enforcent Team is not part of our system. Would you like to leave to prevent them from doing sothing behind your back?"
"No need." Luo Zheng said nonchalantly.
"The biggest gangster here is called Master Dao. Two of the people on the ground are Master Dao's n." The officer advised kindly.
"It's alright, handle it by the book." Luo Zheng heard it was Little Dao's n, his expression darkened imdiately. Although Little Dao helped solve many cases, he must never cross the line of the law. Luo Zheng waved his hand, signaling the officer to handle the situation, as he stepped aside and dialed Ghost Hand's number.
Ghost Hand was lying at ho, listening to his mother's nagging about getting married. Hearing about the situation, he got excited, mumbled sothing about a mission, and rushed out of the house towards the scene.
The ambulance arrived, loading the injured onto it and quickly leaving the scene. The police obtained the surveillance footage, sealing off the area for evidence collection. Luo Zheng waited nearby. Before long, he saw a familiar SUV co racing up, knowing it was Shi Feng arriving, he went up to greet.
Shi Feng parked the car, got out in casual clothes, and upon seeing Luo Zheng, warmly extended his hand and smiled, "Everywhere you go, sothing big happens. I checked on the people who were beaten on my way over. They're all temporary workers. One of them is the team leader's brother-in-law in the Managent Law Enforcent Team, just so bullies. Don't worry, I'll take care of it for you. It's rare to see you; lunch is on , the brothers have been thinking about you for a long ti. If you don't show up soon, I won't have the face to save."
