Under the deep and dark night sky, countless soldiers appeared on a cliff in the desolate snowfield, each ard to the teeth, their expressions cold and silent as they waited. At the edge of the cliff, so officer-looking individuals were whispering among themselves, continuously scanning the area below with strong flashlights, trying to understand the situation below, dislodging many snowflakes which fell with rustling sounds.

Very soon, an officer resembling a Major made a particular decision, waving his arm. A Special Team imdiately retrieved ropes and tied them to a nearby large tree, letting the ropes down. So grabbed onto the ropes and began rappelling down, occasionally shining strong flashlights around, cautiously searching.

In a cave midway along the cliff, Luo Zheng cautiously approached the cave entrance, hearing voices from above and seeing snowflakes sliding down, instantly realizing he was exposed. His expression tightened as he quickly surveyed the surroundings, facing two options: either descend the cliff imdiately and retreat or counterattack and kill as many as possible.

Retreating ant exposure with a high likelihood of being shot. Though holding his ground inside the cave against the enemy might ultimately lead to death, he could take many down with him. Either way, the latter option seed more worthwhile. Luo Zheng had long since co to terms with life and death, having killed many along the way, it was worth it.

With this thought, Luo Zheng swiftly checked his weapon, chambering a bullet. His eyes exploded with intense battle intent as he looked upwards, but unfortunately, protruding stones blocked his view of the enemy. Luo Zheng leaned against the cave wall, forcing himself to calm down. Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly noticed a gigantic stone nearby.

The stone was irregular, with a small part embedded in the cave wall. Luo Zheng's eyes suddenly brightened with an idea. He quickly set down his weapon and began to move the stone with effort. The stone was imnse and heavy, but under full exertion, Luo Zheng managed to barely move it. In this life-and-death mont, he burst forth with great potential.

A few minutes later, the part of the stone embedded in the cave wall was moved out by Luo Zheng, who continued pushing it forward, veins bulging in his arms, almost exhausting all his strength, finally moving the stone to the cave entrance. Unsatisfied, he kept pushing the stone forward until it stuck in position at the cave entrance.

In this way, the protruding part of the stone blended well with the strange rocks protruding everywhere on the cliff, making it hard for anyone to notice this stone was artificially positioned. After finishing this, Luo Zheng silently let out a breath, checked the tightly fitting junction, saw so gaps, and reassured about airflow, imdiately picking up his weapon.

Having done everything possible, it was now a matter of luck. If the cave was discovered, no deception would work, leaving only a desperate battle, resulting in no regrets either way. Soon, Luo Zheng heard more noises and saw flashing lights through the gaps in the junction, knowing the pursuers had co down.

"Bring it on." Luo Zheng steeled himself and swiftly raised his gun, eyes filled with killing intent, facial expression growing colder, his body taut like a leopard ready to strike anyti. Intense combat spirit burned in his heart.

Soon, Luo Zheng felt soone stepping on the protruding giant stone, with strong flashlights illuminating the surroundings. His heart tightened, with his index finger involuntarily over the trigger, ready to fire anyti. Thoughts of the First and Third Teams flooded his mind, two teams of over sixty comrades, each a Soldier King, their fates unknown. Endless hatred made Luo Zheng even angrier.

Given a chance to escape detection successfully, it would an more chances for revenge later. If caught, then battle it is, with no fear of death. Luo Zheng's gaze grew more determined as he aid at the cave entrance, took a deep breath, while listening keenly for external movents.

Luo Zheng could sense soone standing on the protruding stone, surveying with a flashlight for a mont before leaving. He couldn't help but be surprised, then delighted. A battle might be grand, but living was better. Only by living could he kill more enemies and avenge the fallen comrades. Luo Zheng feared not death, but preferred living to revenge. Seeing the enemy depart, he let out a long sigh, only then noticing he was covered in a cold sweat.

Inside the pitch-black cave, Luo Zheng's tense body relaxed, leaning against the cave wall, gulping for air. The earlier heightened tension almost left his brain oxygen-deprived, as fresh air flooded his system, his tensed body gradually relaxing, emotions stabilizing. The near brush with Death God felt terrifying. Despite Luo Zheng's strong will, it was still hard to cope.

Places searched by the enemy would likely be less guarded. Luo Zheng knew his cave was now a temporary safe zone, yet dared not be careless. Approaching the cave entrance, he listened attentively, sensing the people slowly leaving, patiently waiting, his icy eyes flickering like stars in the darkness.

Ti ticked away, Luo Zheng forced himself to wait calmly, able almost to hear his own heartbeat and breathing. The cave was pitch black, frighteningly silent, like the gateway to hell, perated with a suffocating aura, seemingly devouring all life.

After a while, outside returned to silence as if devoid of people. Luo Zheng still dared not venture out, feeling his way back inside the cave. From his backpack, he pulled out a sleeping bag. Concerned that light might seep through the gaps, he didn't dare use a flashlight, feeling his way into the sleeping bag, removing his outer clothing, and crawling inside.

The sleeping bag was moisture-proof, windproof, and warr; curling up inside felt much more comfortable. Since the enemy hadn't discovered the cave, and he couldn't recklessly go out, sleeping for a bit might be best, to recharge and fight tomorrow. On the battlefield, maintaining a good state at all tis is essential for survival.

Luo Zheng suffered much exhaustion over his journey, badly depleting his strength, and unknowingly drifted into a slumber. In his dreams, he seemingly saw Lan Xue, Ghost Hand, and other comrade-in-arms, imdiately witnessing Shadow ambushed by the army, Snow Fox surrounded, countless brothers fighting fiercely to the death, heroically martyred. Their dying furious roars and hatred seed like sharp swords piercing the sky.

Luo Zheng jolted awake, gasping heavily, realizing he was drenched in cold sweat. Seeing light flickering in through the gaps, feeling more awake, he glanced at his watch; it was around eight in the morning. The restless sleep left his body sore and achy. Luo Zheng suspected he might have caught a cold, feeling quite alard.

A cold might not be a serious issue, but in this ice-bound snowfield, it could be deadly. Frantically, he opened his backpack, retrieved the first aid kit, took so cold dicine, washing it down with cold water, grabbing dry rations to eat. All the while, he listened intently to ascertain whether the enemy was still around outside.
