In midair, the cold wind howled past his ears, instilling fear. This unsettling feeling of not touching the sky nor the ground is sothing ordinary people cannot endure. At the crucial mont of life and death, Luo Zheng did not panic. He tried hard to keep his body still, waiting until he was near the slope. Then, he slightly bent his legs and let his feet touch the ground, rolling his body along the slope, tumbling about three tis until it was empty below, and his body dropped down again.

Everything was as Luo Zheng calculated. As he fell downward, Luo Zheng felt no panic or fear. He struggled to keep his eyes open to look below, controlling his body posture to ensure his head was above his feet. With a crash, he hit the dense tree canopy and landed on a branch. The impact bent the branches, but also absorbed much of the force. Luo Zheng continued to fall heavily, landing onto the thick snow on the ground, burying his entire body.

"Hiss?" Luo Zheng felt unbearable pain throughout his body. His brow furrowed tightly; his bones seed disassembled. He struggled to stand up, moving his agonizing limbs, when he suddenly noticed traces of soone else falling not far away, along with footprints leading away. He was overjoyed imdiately, finally realizing his judgnt was correct—he found a clue.

The life-threatening pursuit brought rewards, without any wasted effort, making Luo Zheng's mood considerably more relaxed. He took deep breaths, endured the pain, retrieved his backpack, and strapped it on. He picked up his weapon and examined it. Instead of imdiately pursuing, he picked up a three to four-ter-long, densely leafed branch, using it as a broom to erase traces around before continuing the pursuit. He leveled out signs along the way to prevent enemies from reacting and pursuing from here.

After chasing for about half an hour, Luo Zheng noticed the footprints had disappeared, surprising him. He carefully observed the surroundings; mountainsides flanked him richly wooded, and ahead was a canyon. Where could the adversary have gone? Luo Zheng cautiously hid behind a large tree to continue his observations, pondering in reverse.

If he were the one fleeing, it might be understandable to ignore footprints to escape pursuers quickly, as erasing traces takes ti. For those eager to retreat, ti is especially precious. The disappearance of footprints here might have two explanations: One being that the adversary continued forward, erasing traces along the way to avoid detection. Another is that the adversary might be hiding nearby, possibly having locked onto him.

"Which situation is it?" Luo Zheng pondered in suspicion, struggling to decide, his brows furrowed tightly as he scrutinized the surroundings, attempting to find any clues. But the surrounding snow was smooth, without any traces visible. Looking forward, he noticed faint traces of branches brushing the snow-layer on the ground. Could they have gone ahead?

Thinking this, Luo Zheng rushed forward, squatted to closely discern, noticing the snow marks subtle, seemingly human-made. Luo Zheng cautiously examined the surroundings. The canyon was untouched, the ground was pristine, only fallen leaves were visible with no other marks, these markings could only have one explanation.

Realizing this, Luo Zheng decided to continue the pursuit forward, stood up, and picked up the sniper scope to observe ahead. Trees densely covered the front, the treetops were piled with snow, occasionally dropping snowballs that hit the ground with dull thuds. Indistinct sounds of people could be heard from above the cliff, likely pursuers.

With the situation unclear, Luo Zheng dared not be careless, nor did he shout to disclose his identity, fearing drawing enemy attention. Cautiously, he picked up his AK-74M rifle and proceeded forward, loading bullets while his sharp gaze, like a blade edge, locked ahead, his body slightly sideways, swiftly pursuing onward.

After about ten minutes, Luo Zheng acutely noticed the faint trails ahead vanished, shocking him. He swiftly stopped and held his weapon, searching the surroundings when he suddenly felt his foot caught, as if grabbed by sothing. Imdiately, his body's center of gravity shifted, and he toppled.

"Not good." Luo Zheng realized he was under attack, his heart shivering. Unexpectedly, soone ambushed from beneath the snow, exhibiting terrifying camouflage skills. Luo Zheng couldn't think too much; he fixed his gaze, seeing soone camouflaged in a white cloak, pouncing like a hungry wolf. The cold military knife emitted a death-god-like gleam, swiftly slicing toward his throat, his life hanging by a thread.

In a split second, Luo Zheng fiercely lunged, his knee slamd into the opponent's back, displacing them off balance. His head leveraged backward, crashing into the snow-layer over a foot deep. Luo Zheng could feel the adversary's knife almost grazed his neck. If not for his head reeling backward into the snow-layer, narrowly avoiding the blade's edge, he would have been dood.

With the enemy unclear, a fighting spirit arose in Luo Zheng. His eyes glared wide, swiftly drawing his military dagger, while the opponent's subsequent attacks ca incredibly fast, leaving him no ti to counter. The gaze cold like Death God, the entire body exuded chilling killing intent, like a Demon erging from hell, a frightening sight.

At this mont, Luo Zheng suddenly found his opponent familiar, exclaiming in surprise, quickly shouting: "Don't move, it's ."

As soon as he spoke, Luo Zheng keenly noticed the opponent's body stiffened, action halting. The icy blade lingered near his neck, while the opponent tilted their head, their blood-red eyes cast a bizarre glow, eyeing Luo Zheng silently. Luo Zheng could feel the chill of the knife on his neck, his heart trembling. Without the tily shout, he might already be a corpse.

Luo Zheng looked at the opponent in confusion, who had a face full of beard, a haggard face, icy complexion, thick eyebrows, big eyes—at first glance resembling a savage, appearing familiar yet unable to recall who they were, deeply suspicious. The opponent seed equally curious, sizing him up, evidently not recognizing him either, the unexpected result leaving Luo Zheng utterly stunned.

"Who are you? Why do you look familiar?" Luo Zheng noticed the opponent's blood-red eyes gradually cooled, growing angry, quickly speaking to prevent surprise throat-slitting.

The opponent's red eyes suddenly lost their anger, replaced by surprise and scrutiny, tilting their head as if pondering, yet their arm gripping the knife remained steady as a rock, unmoving. Luo Zheng hurriedly said: "Can you understand ? Who on earth are you?"

"Who am I?" the opponent suddenly spoke, voice muffled with surprise questioning back, speaking standard Huaxia Country language.

"You don't even know who you are?" Luo Zheng sneered in anger, irritatedly questioning, bewildered by the opponent, noticing a pained expression on the opponent's face, ire compelling further speech: "First sheath your knife, let's find a place to chat. The enemy could catch up here anyti."

"Enemy?" The opponent's face drastically changed, a chilling murderous aura exploded like Siberian cold wind, suffocating, hand exerting force, intending lethal action.

Luo Zheng was greatly shocked, hastily shouting: "Wait, ally."

"Ally?" The opponent tilted their head, surprisedly eyeing Luo Zheng, eyes emitting strange red light, military dagger already cut skin, a trace of blood oozed, narrowly missing severing Luo Zheng's artery.
