At dusk, the setting sun was like blood, completely dyeing the sky red, with myriad rays of sunset scattering over the vast hills, as if adorning them with a gown of dusk. The scenery was splendid, and the hills were full of rolling slopes, lush with green grass, with no tall trees in sight. So birds flew in flocks, frolicking, adding a touch of vitality to the expansive hills.
A team trudged stubbornly through the hills, supporting each other, each one exhausted and stumbling, seemingly on the verge of collapse. They wore white coats, soaked through, many torn by so unknown object, looking quite bedraggled. The one leading, although adorned with a deep worry on his face and incredibly fatigued, his gaze was exceptionally resolute, like a sharp sword vigilant to his surroundings—it was Luo Zheng.
In the vast hills, the birds, startled by the sudden appearance of the people, flew into the sky, chirping gaily, soon flying away, leaving behind silence, except for the team still struggling to move forward, their crutches trembling as if unable to support their bodies.
The team walked a short distance ahead, and Luo Zheng suddenly raised his hand and shouted, "Everyone stop." Saying this, he gravely gazed at a slope not far away. The slope was covered with lush grass, a few stones exposed, with no signs of people, but Luo Zheng keenly sensed the aura of killing there, emanating danger.
"Bang!" Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, the bullet hitting the grass in front of Luo Zheng; it was evidently a warning shot. Luo Zheng remained still, hearing the panicked voices from the team behind him, and hurriedly shouted, "Everyone stay calm, this should be Basto's territory, there are hidden sentries, don't move recklessly, it's okay with ."
The dical team mbers, hearing Luo Zheng's words, inexplicably felt reassured, each using their crutches to support themselves without moving, looking ahead in panic. Zhang Hao worriedly said, "Young man, will they accept us? We're at our limit, and if they an harm, none of us will escape."
"Rest assured, I can't guarantee acceptance, but they have no reason to antagonize us. Don't forget we have a country standing behind us; angering us is not beneficial to them. And as long as we show enough sincerity and attitude, sacrificing a bit is still possible. Everyone, don't panic or speak indiscriminately, leave everything to ." Luo Zheng turned around and earnestly said to everyone.
Everyone found this reasonable, calming their panic, Zhang Hao emotionally said, "You're right, we've been detained for three years, almost forgetting that a strong nation stands behind us. With no grievances or enmity, these people have no reason to take risks. Just don't speak indiscriminately; angering them will be detrintal."
"Don't worry." Everyone feebly responded.
At this mont, a person erged from behind the slope, wearing a yellowing camouflage suit, holding an AK rifle in a sowhat old manner. Luo Zheng calmly looked at the approaching person, slightly raising his hand to signal no hostility while carefully observing him. Judging from his attire and weapon, this tribe seed poorer than the Harriri Tribe, whose weapons included new camouflage combat suits and M4 rifles, virtually brand new.
With this understanding, Luo Zheng felt slightly relieved; as long as they were poorer, it should be alright. After reminding everyone not to move recklessly again, he took a few steps forward, calmly watching the approaching person, his peripheral vision occasionally glancing at the slope, suspecting more people hidden there.
At this mont, the ard personnel approached, cautiously watching Luo Zheng, speaking a string of unintelligible words. Luo Zheng didn't understand a word, attempting to communicate in an international language, asking, "Who are you?"
The opponent perhaps found the language barrier difficult to overco, used a walkie-talkie to say a few words, then signaled Luo Zheng to stay put. Luo Zheng knew the man was calling for backup and patiently awaited. After a while, a person riding a cal ca swiftly, the cal running fast, and the rider easily maintained his position while holding a gun.
Quickly, this person arrived in front of Luo Zheng, signaling for the cal to stop, communicating briefly with the ard personnel, then looked at Luo Zheng with a curious expression, using the international language to ask, "Who are you, why co from the Harriri's territory? Why co to ours?"
"We are Huaxia Country Red Cross, United Nations Red Cross dical team, kidnapped by Harriri, managed to escape. Can we seek your help?" Luo Zheng earnestly said to the opposite party.
"Help? Why should we help you? Angering Harriri is no trivial matter." The opponent scoffed disdainfully, though his eyes grew serious, cautiously sizing up Luo Zheng.
Luo Zheng keenly detected the opponent's anomaly, knowing there was room for negotiation, secretly relaxed, smiled, and said, "It's true angering Harriri isn't desirable, but Harriri is not much. This escape, we eliminated over five hundred Harriri. Of course, this number is sowhat large, you surely don't believe, but you can verify. A severely damaged Harriri still makes you apprehensive?"
"Oh? Is what you say true?" The opponent beca intrigued, surprisedly looked at Luo Zheng, and asked.
"Whether true or not is quite simple, you just need to send soone to investigate. With your intelligence capability, surely you can verify?" Luo Zheng smiled.
"Hmm, you must know deceiving us won't end well." The opponent spoke nacingly.
"Of course, deceiving you here holds no benefit for us." Luo Zheng responded.
"You seem decent; they don't. Just you claiming to eliminate hundreds of Harriri, this joke isn't funny." The opponent continued probing.
"Naturally, it wouldn't be possible alone. I have two companions in the rear holding them off. Essentially, the three of us rescued them." Luo Zheng appropriately disclosed so truth.
When the opponent heard this, his expression cleared, saying, "So, that's how it is, but I still don't believe it. You must follow ; until the ssage is confird, you're intruders on our territory, not treated as friends."
"Of course, a reminder though, my two companions should arrive soon. Enemy pursuers will likely follow; hope you don't misunderstand and get prepared." Luo Zheng advised.
"Don't worry about that." The opponent said, spoke in a native dialect to the other ard personnel, who then took up the walkie-talkie to contact soone. This person looked at Luo Zheng, continuing, "Hand over your weapon and bring them along with ; best not to stir trouble."
"Certainly." Luo Zheng internally sighed in relief, took out the only weapon—a military knife, flipped it over in his hand, and handed it over to show goodwill.
