The flight was cruising smoothly at ten thousand ters, enveloped in darkness outside, where nothing could be seen. The plane felt like it was flying in an endless dark world towards an unknown space. Only the red lights on its wings blinked intermittently, weak yet glaring in the infinite dark space, like a fighter challenging the dark night sky.
Inside the cabin, it was quiet. The passengers were asleep, slumping in various directions. So even snored lightly. Others who couldn't fall asleep were watching in-flight movies or listening to music. A few simply got up to stretch, standing in the aisle to move their legs and bend their backs. Occasionally, a flight attendant would co by to check things, readjusting the blankets of those whose had slipped off, or assisting those in need. Everything was peaceful, as if nothing had happened earlier.
Luo Zheng was wide awake, his mind unusually active. The more peaceful it seed, the more it concealed undercurrents of turbulent danger; he couldn't be careless. It was unclear whether his identity had been exposed, and being careless in such a situation would be playing with his own life. Lan Xue was also unable to sleep. The two exchanged glances, understanding everything without words.
About an hour later, Luo Zheng started to feel a bit drowsy and quietly said to Lan Xue beside him, "You keep watch. I'll nap for a bit. Wake up if anything happens." With that, he closed his eyes.
"Okay." Lan Xue softly humd in agreent. She had already slept a bit earlier and was now full of energy. She remained alert, secretly keeping a handgun within easy reach while discreetly observing her surroundings, missing no details. In the cabin, apart from those sleeping or stretching, there were only those with headphones watching movies or listening to music. Everyone was very quiet, with no sign of anything unusual.
After a while, there was a sudden disturbance from the first class cabin, followed by a few people frantically running towards the business class, their faces filled with panic. Those in business class, groggy with sleep, looked on in surprise, not knowing what had happened. Seeing this scene, Lan Xue was startled and imdiately shook Luo Zheng awake.
Luo Zheng opened his eyes to see over a dozen people rushing towards them down the two aisles, their faces frightful. He instantly realized sothing happened, suppressing the urge to stand up, cautiously observing around. Acting too intensely could easily give away his identity. Lan Xue's face grew anxious, worried about Lan Bo's safety in first class.
At that mont, they saw Lan Bo also rushing from first class, his face gloomy, moving quickly. Luo Zheng was surprised and was about to get up to et him when he noticed a middle-aged man following behind Lan Bo. The man was wearing a suit and tie, looking like a successful person around forty, with short hair and an indifferent expression, especially in his eyes, which emitted a forest-like light, fixated on Lan Bo in front.
"Not good." Luo Zheng keenly sensed a murderous aura from the man, filled with shock, about to get up, when he noticed a flight attendant rushing from behind the man, a woman in uniform, her face frosty, staring closely at the man, moving quickly.
"Huh?" Luo Zheng's expression grew serious, seeing Lan Bo rushing over, looking at him in surprise. He quickly gestured for Lan Bo to continue moving back. Understanding, Lan Bo hurriedly moved a few steps forward. Just then, the man charged forward as well, and Luo Zheng noticed a hint of anxiety in the man's cold gaze, locked tightly onto Lan Bo, without glancing at him at all.
The situation grew complicated and urgent. Luo Zheng discreetly glanced at the flight attendant chasing behind the man, stretched out his leg inconspicuously, tripping the quickly running man to the ground. Instantly standing up, he pointed at the fallen man, feigning anger, and scolded, "Watch where you're going! Are you blind?"
Tripping the man certainly drew the attention of those around. Luo Zheng simply took the initiative to jump out, pretending his foot had been hit. The man quickly got up without looking back at Luo Zheng, and was about to rush forward, but in that mont, the flight attendant behind stepped firmly, leaping forward aggressively, colliding hard into the man's back, causing the just-risen man to fall to the ground again, his face smashing heavily into the floor.
After landing, the flight attendant pounced on him, delivering a fierce hand chop to the man, quick and decisive, striking with force. The man lay unconscious on the ground. The flight attendant stood up, glanced at the startled passengers, and quickly switched to a calm smile, explaining, "Please don't worry, this person just had a bit of a breakdown, but it's all right now."
Everyone, hearing it was just a madman, sighed in relief. The flight attendant looked at the crowd at the back of the plane, including Lan Bo, and called out, "Please don't be afraid. Head back to your seats. We've already controlled him." Saying so, she grabbed the unconscious man, casting a complex glance at Luo Zheng.
"So he's a lunatic. I was wondering why he wasn't watching where he was going," Luo Zheng feigned sudden realization and said.
"It's all right now; please return to your seats," the flight attendant said nonchalantly, placing the man's arm over her shoulder, practically dragging him forward. The surrounding people watched curiously, discussing among themselves, while the passengers who had run to the back gradually walked forward.
At this point, Lan Bo also passed by the two of them but stopped short of speaking and, in the end, said nothing, not even glancing at them and following the others back forward into the first-class section. Luo Zheng wanted to go and check but feared arousing suspicion. Suddenly, he rembered his disguised identity and had a brainwave, lowering his voice to say to Lan Xue, "Stay alert. I'll go check it out."
"You?" Lan Xue was taken aback, looking at Luo Zheng incredulously as he pulled out a work pass, surprising her. But she quickly understood and nodded, softly saying, "Okay, be careful."
Luo Zheng nodded and headed forward, soon reaching the area between business and first class. As a flight attendant stepped up to block him, Luo Zheng displayed his work pass and said, "I'm a Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff at the Embassy. Here's my ID. The airplane should be in your national airspace now, and as a diplomatic worker, I have the right to know what happened here and to be inford about the safety of my country's citizens."
The flight attendant was montarily taken aback to see Luo Zheng inquiring with diplomatic credentials. Diplomacy is no small matter. If it were elsewhere like Huaxia's airspace, the flight attendants of an airline from Sam Country could choose to ignore it. But now, within Sam Country's airspace, considered Sam Country's territory, a diplomat has the right to inquire about related affairs. The attendant's expression changed slightly, pondering as if making so decision.
"What? Can't you tell ?" Luo Zheng feigned dissatisfaction, urging.
"I need to verify your identity and report to the relevant departnt. Without their decision, I can't answer your questions. Please understand, please wait here and don't wander off." The flight attendant reluctantly advised in a low voice, calling over another attendant to watch Luo Zheng, while she headed towards the cockpit with his work pass.
