The ambassador's words made Luo Zheng hesitate for a mont. He looked over, and Lan Xue also stared at the ambassador in surprise. After organizing his thoughts, the ambassador continued, "From the video, it appears that the killer mingled with the competition team to act. We cannot determine whether these killers were part of the team from the beginning or joined midway. If from the start, it suggests a high likelihood of Sam Country's involvent. If they joined halfway, it could indicate a special agent from so country."
"What's the difference?" Luo Zheng asked in surprise.
"There is a significant difference. This is a routine competition, held once a year, with registrations closing a month ago. If they were in the team from the beginning, it shows that Sam Country has been planning all this for a while. If they joined midway, it suggests rely using the opportunity to conceal their identity. To investigate is not difficult. Just send an intelligence officer to inquire with the competition committee. If soone attempts to impede the process, it's likely Sam Country's doing. If there's no disturbance and they're not afraid of being checked, it ans soone else acted." The ambassador earnestly explained.
It seed to make sense to Luo Zheng. After thinking for a mont, he said, "Forget sending soone. I'll go find them myself."
"You're going personally? What if you're exposed?" the ambassador asked in surprise.
"Others might not be suitable. I'm not confident in terms of security. It's better if I go myself. I'll arrange proper precautions. There are many people in the competition committee. It's impossible to visit each one. Any good recomndations?" Luo Zheng explained.
"Alright, I'm just here to assist your operations. Whatever you say goes. Be careful. It's best to find the person in charge of registrations and check the list one by one. I guess Sam Country has already started their action. Whether you can get ahead depends on your tactics," the ambassador quickly said.
"Understood, taking action now. Hopefully, it's in ti." Luo Zheng said in a serious tone.
"Assistant Little Ma is also one of our own, an excellent special agent, definitely trustworthy. Let him assist you, familiar with the roads, for driving and support," the ambassador suggested.
"Thanks for that," Luo Zheng agreed, glancing at the ambassador's assistant nearby.
"Thank you, ambassador. Please, you two, give the orders," Assistant Little Ma quickly stood up and said solemnly.
"Prepare the car. We're going to find the person the ambassador ntioned earlier," Luo Zheng instructed.
"Understood, I'll go right away. et you in a mont at the embassy entrance," Little Ma quickly said.
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchanged a look, got up, and left after bidding farewell to the ambassador. They hurried to the embassy entrance and saw Little Ma drive up. The two quickly got into the car, Luo Zheng seating himself in the front passenger seat. The car swiftly exited the embassy and proceeded down the street.
Assistant Little Ma focused on driving, occasionally observing the surroundings. After a while, he said, "Sir, it seems no one is tailing us. It's about ten minutes from here to the target's ho. Not sure if they're ho; I'll make a few calls to check." Saying that, he took out his phone.
The first call was to check the target's ho landline number. The second call directly inquired about the target. The person who answered claid the target wasn't ho. Little Ma quickly asked a few questions as a mber of the competition committee, but the person on the other end was confused, so he had to hang up helplessly and apologetically looked at Luo Zheng, saying, "The target's not ho. The person who answered seems to be family and doesn't know. They might be at the office, or out fooling around sowhere."
"Given such a significant event, they can't possibly be out fooling around. Let's head straight for the office," Luo Zheng instructed.
"Yes," Little Ma promptly agreed, driving onward.
After a while, the car arrived at a building, and after finding a place to park, Little Ma said to Luo Zheng, "The target works on the fifth floor. Should I go up with you?"
"No need, you stay downstairs for backup," Luo Zheng said in a low voice, glancing back at Lan Xue, who nodded in understanding. Luo Zheng also got out of the car, and the two headed towards the building.
The building wasn't very tall, about twelve stories, with a glass curtain wall and a rectangular structure. The lobby had marble floors, and a giant crystal chandelier illuminated the floor, which was polished enough to reflect people's images. So people ca out of the elevator, chatting and laughing as they headed outside, while others hurriedly entered the lobby.
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue arrived at the elevator, took it up to the fifth floor, and upon exiting the elevator, saw two people entering—one male and one female, with stern expressions and saying nothing, acting sowhat oddly. Luo Zheng hesitated, but the elevator doors closed, so he and Lan Xue continued toward the corridor.
Unfamiliar with the place and unaware of the exact location, they had to observe each office. They quickly found an office with a screen at the entrance labeled "Motorcycle Race Committee." Inside, many people were busy. Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchanged a look and walked in.
A blonde beauty stepped forward to stop them and politely asked, "What can I do for you two?"
"We're here to see Mr. Ett," Luo Zheng said smoothly, indicating Ett was the one handling registrations.
"He's not here," she replied with surprise.
"Damn it, we planned to have lunch together, but we can't get through on the phone, which forced us to co up, and he's not here? That bastard, do you know where he went?" Luo Zheng quickly fabricated a story.
"It's like this, about half an hour ago, the Security Bureau ca and took him away to inquire about sothing. Just now, two others were also looking for him. You might not be able to contact him for now," she quickly explained.
"Is that so? Did sothing happen?" Luo Zheng feigned ignorance, recalling the two people who just entered the elevator. He beca secretly alard as he made a guess.
"Isn't it about the police assassination today? Soone mixed into the competition team. What a scoundrel! Those bastards are outrageous," she said, filled with indignation.
Luo Zheng's expression slightly changed, and after a polite remark, he hurriedly left with Lan Xue. While waiting for the elevator, Luo Zheng quickly took out his phone and called Little Ma. Once connected, he imdiately said, "Did you just see a man and a woman leave? The man was wearing a brown business leather jacket, jeans, short hair, a baseball cap, about thirty-four or thirty-five. The woman was in a business suit, with shoulder-length wavy hair, around thirty, wearing a wide-brimd hat."
"I saw them. Soone ca to et them, and they left by car," Little Ma promptly replied.
"Start the car and be ready to pick us up," Luo Zheng said in alarm. He quickly stepped into the arriving elevator, continuing to say, "Try to get a hold of the elevator surveillance footage imdiately."
The elevator rapidly descended, and the duo dashed out of the lobby. Little Ma's car awaited at the entrance, and they swiftly got in. Seated in the front passenger seat, Luo Zheng urgently instructed, "Which way did they go, hurry and catch up." As he spoke, his eyes widened with intent, gazing intently forward, filled with a warrior's spirit.
