The infrared detector works by detecting the infrared radiation emitted by the human body. The detector collects external infrared radiation and then focuses it onto an infrared sensor. The infrared sensor typically uses a pyroelectric elent. When this elent receives infrared radiation, it releases charges when there is a change in temperature, and after detection and processing, an alarm is triggered. In other words, as long as you're not detected by the infrared, you're fine.
In the dark of night, infrared is invisible and difficult for the naked eye to distinguish. Ordinary people would inevitably be discovered and exposed upon entering. Fortunately, Luo Zheng and his team were wearing specially made tactical glasses with infrared detection capabilities, allowing them to see infrared in the darkness. Otherwise, they would have walked right into it.
The infrared is about a foot above the ground, crossing in beams, but all are fixed in place. Luo Zheng carefully stepped over each infrared beam, not daring to be careless at all. Triggering an alarm would an that all efforts were in vain and could even lead to endless pursuit.
Fortunately, the infrared distribution is not extensive, only about ten ters or so. After crossing the infrared detection area, Luo Zheng quickly concealed himself on the spot, calmly observing the surroundings. His eyes flickered like cold stars. With the help of his tactical glasses, he could clearly see the situation about thirty ters ahead. Perhaps due to the infrared detector, this area was relatively lightly guarded, and no abnormalities were found.
"Co over slowly, everyone be careful. Absolutely do not touch the infrared." Luo Zheng said softly through the earpiece. He began to slowly advance forward, ready to detect any hidden sentries in front at the first opportunity.
After walking about a hundred ters, Lan Xue's voice ca through the earpiece: "Everyone's already here. Where are you? Any situation?"
The darkness was deep, and visibility was low. The tactical glasses could only see within a thirty-ter range. Luo Zheng had already infiltrated a hundred ters ahead. Lan Xue and others couldn't see him and grew anxious. Luo Zheng concealed himself on the spot, calmly observing the front while saying, "Advance forward, I'm within a hundred-ter range."
With Luo Zheng scouting ahead, the team's pace quickened. Soon, they reached Luo Zheng's vicinity, each as vigilant as a leopard, observing ahead in hiding, without moving. Their eyes were cold, brimming with murderous intent, and they gripped their guns firmly.
"There are about five hundred ters left to the manor. There might be hidden sentries ahead, everyone be careful. Xue Er and I will scout ahead. Ghost Hand, take your team to the left. Snow Leopard, your team to the right. Advance in lines, maintain a distance of over five ters between each person. Move only on my command," Luo Zheng sternly instructed.
"Understood," everyone replied quietly.
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchanged a glance, nodding tacitly. Luo Zheng held his pistol and carefully advanced, not moving fast, stopping to observe every ten ters and then signaling Lan Xue. Lan Xue followed, advancing ten ters past Luo Zheng and hiding. Once safe, she signaled back to Luo Zheng.
The two covered each other, advancing alternately for about a hundred ters. Luo Zheng concealed himself in a thicket, calmly observing the front. A vague sense of unease arose in his heart. This feeling was unsettling, and he grew alert, watching ahead attentively but found no abnormalities. Heart pounding, he lowered his voice through the earpiece, saying: "There might be danger ahead, don't move until I give the order."
"Understood," everyone responded quietly.
The feeling of danger without knowing its source was unpleasant. Luo Zheng cautiously watched ahead, missing no detail. However, limited visibility made it hard to see far. Waiting would only waste ti. Striking a resolve, Luo Zheng signaled to Lan Xue, who understood, aid her gun forward, providing covering fire for Luo Zheng. Luo Zheng crouched and charged forward.
With Luo Zheng's explosiveness, charging ten ters in a second was no problem. Under the cover of darkness, his speed was hard to discern. Luo Zheng used the surrounding terrain as cover, keeping his body low, infiltrating forward like a ghost, quickly advancing twenty ters, and investigating his surroundings cautiously.
Soon, Luo Zheng noticed a sunken trench ahead, surrounded by dense grass, the only place to hide soone in the vicinity. Uncertain of the trench's depth, Luo Zheng beca wary. The trench, only a ter wide and two ters long, naturally ford a groove. If soone was hidden inside, he would not be able to detect them. Moving forward recklessly would surely expose him. What should he do?
"What's the situation?" Lan Xue's faint voice asked through the earpiece, clear in the still of night.
Luo Zheng did not imdiately respond but continued to watch the trench cautiously. If soone were hidden, they couldn't see him without erging. Rushing over could still allow him to shoot an erging observer. To be safe, it was best to have Lan Xue provide backup. Just as Luo Zheng was about to call, he glimpsed movent in the brush near the trench. Startled, he looked closely.
As the wind blew, the brush shook. Luo Zheng's instincts told him the movent was not from the wind but a deliberate shift. Upon further observation, he smiled, realizing the brush was a well-crafted camouflage. Without accidentally seeing it earlier, he wouldn't have noticed. His opponent was a master, hidden not in the trench as expected, but using the trench as cover with clever disguise. Luo Zheng's expression turned colder, marked by a hint of deadly intent.
Normally, a trench is an ideal place for an ambush, easy to attract attention. Even Luo Zheng had assud it as the hiding spot. Never did he expect his opponent to be beside it, using the trench as cover and a brilliant disguise, truly difficult to discern, making it easy for soone to walk right into a trap.
This masterful camouflage ignited Luo Zheng's fighting spirit like eting a worthy rival. Regrettably, it was an enemy and had to be eliminated. Luo Zheng didn't act imdiately but watched the surroundings warily, not missing any detail. From the sentinel's experience, he observed more carefully. After a while, urged by Lan Xue's voiced inquiries, Luo Zheng locked onto the target and aid his gun.
"Puff, puff, puff!" Three bullets whizzed silently from the suppressor, barely audible yet distinct in the silent wilderness, though their sound didn't carry far. The explosive killing intent seed to rend the night sky.
The triangular formation of the three bullets shot silently into the brush like deadly phantoms, disappearing instantly. Luo Zheng sensed movent in the brush but soon there was silence. Not reassured, he shot three more tis at the brush, ensuring no further motion before relaxing.
"What happened?" Lan Xue's voice ca through the earpiece, urgent with worry.
