Lan Bo was airlifted to the Dark Prison overnight. This news was like a knife stabbing hard into Luo Zheng's heart, almost causing him to faint from the pain. The Dark Prison was nearly impossible to break into, which ant that Lan Bo would never see the light of day again. How could he explain this to Lan Xue? How could he explain it to the brothers who fought tirelessly? How could he explain it to Mr. Li? Luo Zheng felt a dizzying whirl and then passed out.
The ambassador saw this and was shocked. He quickly ca forward to assist, pinched Luo Zheng's nose, and managed to revive him after so ti. Seeing Luo Zheng slowly opening his eyes, the ambassador asked concernedly, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine now, thank you." Luo Zheng said gratefully, filled with regret and anger inside. Venting his anger on just the Minister of Defense was not enough; he had to collect more interest. Luo Zheng thought of this and felt a surge of strength from his heart. Gradually regaining his composure, he looked at the ambassador and said, "I need to know all of Jackson's actions."
"That guy is a cunning one, slippery and hard to catch. I need so ti." The ambassador replied seriously.
"I understand. Is two days enough? I just need to know where he is, without alarming him, and definitely don't take any action. I need to kill that scoundrel myself." Luo Zheng said coldly.
"That's simple. Two days should be enough." The ambassador promised.
"Alright, I'll rely on you. I'll wait for your news; I'll be here for these two days." Luo Zheng said gratefully, stood up, picked up his backpack, and looked at the ambassador, asking, "Where are they staying?"
"I'll have Little Ma get you another room." The ambassador agreed while informing Luo Zheng of Lan Xue and the others' room numbers and called Little Ma through the intercom.
Little Ma hurried over, instantly delighted upon seeing Luo Zheng. After hearing the ambassador's instructions, he agreed wholeheartedly and led the way in front. Luo Zheng bade farewell to the ambassador and followed Little Ma toward the internal guest house. On the way, Little Ma said excitedly, "I've heard about the situation. You guys are amazing, blowing up the castle. If it weren't for the enemy's conspiracy, you might have rescued them. It's unbelievable that you guys actually did it."
"It's a pity we failed and lost so many brothers in there." Luo Zheng sighed with frustration and said.
"In war, casualties are inevitable. The brothers won't bla you. Besides, as long as you're here, you'll surely rescue everyone. I believe in you, and the brothers captured also believe in you, waiting for you, so you must stay strong. The brothers are all waiting for you. Whatever you need to do, just say the word. I won't even blink in the face of danger." Little Ma said seriously, with eyes showing enthusiastic admiration.
"Thank you!" Luo Zheng said gratefully.
The two arrived at the guest house, and Little Ma asked the staff to bring out a room card, but he didn't go upstairs. Luo Zheng arrived at the middle of the second floor, stopped at the room number where Lan Xue was staying, and felt endless guilt and regret surging up. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to knock with his raised hand.
Lan Bo was taken away, the brothers were captured, and as the commander, he survived. Luo Zheng fell into deep self-bla, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, he saw the door open, and a tearful face appeared in front of him—it was Lan Xue, her eyes red with joy.
"Is it really you?" Lan Xue couldn't believe her eyes and stared fixedly at Luo Zheng, asking.
Luo Zheng's heart ached, even more uncertain about how to face Lan Xue. He could only nod lightly. Lan Xue pulled Luo Zheng into the room, closed the door, and hugged him tightly, crying bitterly, venting all her grievances, pain, worry, and longing. At this mont, Lan Xue was no longer strong; she was like a helpless child, letting tears flow down.
"I'm sorry." Luo Zheng said guiltily, his heart feeling as if it was twisted by a knife.
"You bastard, why didn't you co sooner to find , leaving all alone? Do you know how scared I was? I was really so scared, so scared that my father went to the Dark Prison, and this lifeti, I fear I won't see him again. If you were also gone, how would I live? You bastard." Lan Xue held Luo Zheng tightly, crying and shouting, releasing her worries and pain.
Luo Zheng felt a lump in his throat, staring into the void in front, feeling as if there was a giant stone pressing down on his heart, making it hard to breathe. He held Lan Xue in his arms, saying, "Please believe , I'll definitely rescue our father. Your father is my father too, I promise."
"Mm, don't leave again, you bastard. If you dare leave again, I won't live." Lan Xue said painfully, her voice growing weaker.
Luo Zheng was startled, pushed away Lan Xue holding him, and saw that she had fallen asleep, letting out soft breathing sounds. Luo Zheng felt deep pain; how long had she not rested? How much psychological pressure had she endured? It was all due to his command error. Luo Zheng painfully placed Lan Xue on the bed, removed her shoes, covered her with a quilt, and looked at her fixedly, feeling regret, guilt, and self-reproach flooding up.
"Get so good rest." Luo Zheng whispered, painfully heading outside. He closed the door, checked the room number, and knocked on the neighboring door.
Soon, soone opened the door inside. Upon seeing Luo Zheng, they were ecstatic and about to salute. Luo Zheng waved his hand and entered the room, seeing two other brothers sitting on the couch watching TV. He couldn't help but say guiltily, "It's good that the brothers are all okay, no injuries, right?"
"We're fine, but Lan, the Deputy Squad Leader, hasn't slept for two days and nights since the incident. No matter how the brothers persuade, it was useless. You should go see her." One brother said.
"Mm, she's asleep. Do you know the situation?" Luo Zheng said with a bitter smile.
"We know a bit. The brothers are all brave, carving a bloody path out, and were captured only after exhausting all ammunition. We must figure out a way to rescue the brothers." One brother quickly said.
"Do you hate ?" Luo Zheng asked, looking at everyone.
"Hate you? Why would we hate you?" Another brother looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, then quickly understood, hurriedly adding, "Boss, you've done excellently. We don't hate you. The brothers captured won't hate you either; they believe you can rescue them, that's why they chose capture. You mustn't give up on yourself. The brothers are counting on you."
"That's right, no one expected the enemy to sche. Besides, we can't be considered failures. So many people from the castle and on the special train died, it was worth it. The Fourth Squadron's reputation was earned with real blade and blood; we definitely can't lose it. At worst, we die, and the brothers can continue fighting below. What's the plan next? When are we rescuing them?" Another brother echoed.
