An ard helicopter equipped with missiles is essentially a deadly arsenal. I must say, the pilot of the helicopter hit in the tail showed remarkable calmness. If a helicopter with missiles crashes, it will inevitably explode, leading to certain death. By launching the missiles before crashing, the helicopter without missiles might not explode, leaving a sliver of hope for survival.

The missiles went off randomly, exploding throughout the dense forest, and massive red lights blossod into the sky, as if the entire night sky was trembling, along with the ground itself. The trembling also spread to the captured soldiers; their faces turned pale as they watched in terror the hit helicopter crash into the forest, eyes full of despair, a despair of the future.

Before the troops set out, the orders received were to encircle and annihilate terrorists. Can they still survive now that they've fallen into the hands of terrorists? Everyone was uncertain, glancing at each other with so anxiety, discovering that these people were sowhat different; neither their equipnt nor their skin tone matched the terrorist look depicted by the propagandists. The terror in their hearts was now mixed with doubts.

At this mont, Luo Zheng noticed that the other two helicopters had turned back, causing him to pause, then he quickly reacted. A helicopter's combat power is terrifying, but it depends on the occasion. Unless to slaughter prisoners of war indiscriminately, staying serves no purpose and would only risk being taken down by lurking RPGs in the forest. Retreating is a better choice.

"The enemy isn't leaving; they're withdrawing from the battlefield," Lan Xue suddenly reminded from beside.

Luo Zheng glanced again at the helicopters in the night sky, and indeed, after retreating so distance, they began hovering, not planning to leave. Feeling puzzled, he quickly understood and sneered, saying, "With hostages in hand, the enemy dares not easily open fire, but they are unwilling to just withdraw. They're monitoring from the periter to see where we plan to take the hostages. Let's move."

"Makes sense, then let's retreat," Lan Xue said solemnly.

The team quickly mobilized, pushing the captives for a fast retreat, not forgetting to take along the enemy's weapons and equipnt since everything was already exposed. Unafraid of being discovered, Luo Zheng instructed the prisoners to use the tactical flashlight for illumination, urging everyone to move faster, and the team gradually disappeared into the night.

Almost simultaneously, at a military base where an outdoor cocktail party was taking place, lights were shimring brightly. Nurous socialites mingled amidst the crowd, as the pianist played soul-stirring, lodious music. Groups of people in crisp military attire whispered softly among themselves, getting enchanted laughs from the occasional exchanges between so well-dressed, dignified middle-aged n in suits.

The cocktail party was a welco reception for the arriving reinforcents, organized by the host nation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Attending were high-ranking military officials and key host nation officials, while prominent local celebrities helped liven the atmosphere by weaving through the crowds.

Jackson was among them, whispering to the arriving group commander about the situation. Others around seed to know sothing, deliberately keeping their distance, not hearing what shouldn't be heard. After listening to the war situation, the commander was full of thoughtful contemplation. After inquiring a few details, he asked softly, "Old friend, the President knows about our friendship, so he sent to support, considering the convenience of command. I absolutely follow your command, but the enemy sounds complex, likely with considerable third-party country reinforcents. This situation must be taken seriously."

"Indeed, knowing my old rival, their country will definitely provide substantial support. We must reassess this war, especially understanding the strategic purpose of third-party countries joining in; nobody gets involved without cause. It's just that our intelligence departnt does nothing but eat all day, having made no progress after so long. After dawn, I'll take action with your people." Jackson said softly, annoyed.

"You should stay put and command. Anyway, the enemy's stronghold has been identified; as long as we seal all entry and exits, trapping them will suffice, not to ntion we have helicopters, missiles, and fighters. Against absolute aerial strength, the enemy is like a weakling, no match at all. Coordinating command is even tougher; whether various supports are in place is crucial. One mistake could cost the lives of many brothers." The commander said, lowering his voice, looking around with vigilance, fearing being overheard.

Jackson nodded in agreent, saying in a low voice, "Indeed, much of my failure stems from inconsistencies in interdepartntal coordination. Though having the President's support, unexpected events are inevitable. I'll address this issue and it's likely that the President recognized this by sending you. No matter what, this battle marks the beginning of our honor, and we must win it."

"To victory, cheers." The commander said knowingly, with a soft laugh.

After the two n toasted, Jackson noticed his intelligence officer approaching with a complicated expression, stopping not far away, showing inhibitions, prompting Jackson to summon him over, asking, "What happened?"

"Report, the enemy launched a surprise night attack on our troops; the ard helicopter failed to provide assistance with defeat, and the enemy is retreating." The intelligence officer quickly replied in a hushed voice.

"What?" Jackson's face turned cold, his gaze growing icy as he charged the intelligence officer, dissatisfied, asking, "Why have you co to report only now; what's going on?"

"The enemy's surprise attack was sudden; we had no preparedness whatsoever, half beca captives, while the other half continued to pursue. The helicopters were sent, but the enemy employed close-range combat tactics. Our helicopters couldn't engage, allowing the enemy to take advantage and blow up one of our helicopters; the other two had to withdraw from the battlefield. The enemy is retreating with our personnel, and our helicopters are trailing behind, not daring to attack while hostages are in their hands." The intelligence officer hurriedly explained.

"How many people?" Jackson asked angrily, his eyes flashing coldly.

"A hundred-strong unit, besides a few deaths, most have been captured." The intelligence officer quickly replied.

"A hundred people?" Jackson's expression drastically changed; he loathed he could smack the intelligence officer. A hundred is not a small number, making Jackson troubled; anger surged inside him, his eyes flared with fierce light like an impending fierce beast, bursting with murderous intent.

The commander motioned for the intelligence officer to leave, saying softly, "Don't lose your temper; this reeks of oddity. Why did the enemy kidnap our hostages? It's illogical; if they needed intelligence, capturing a few would suffice. Besides, Huaxia Country has satellite radar, strategic information is easy to obtain. What does capturing a large number of prisoners an?"

"What are you implying?" Jackson controlled his fury, asking pointedly.

"I an that there's likely sothing complex here; the opponent must have an ulterior motive. Furthermore, being able to capture nearly a hundred people implies the opponent is anything but simple. Couldn't it be your old rival?" The commander advised.

"Regardless, we must attack tomorrow; my army cannot afford this disgrace. Notify everyone now to convene a military eting to study tomorrow's tactical deploynt. The cocktail party ends here; apologies if you mind, I'll make it up with a drink after victory." Jackson coldly replied, walking murderously toward the conference room.
