The enemy was defeated like a landslide on the battlefield, fleeing in panic. The resting troops at the rear didn't understand what was happening. The experienced Commander saw this scene and quickly ordered the troops to stop retreating and conceal themselves for defense. But in the dark, everyone was panicked, unaware of how many opponents there were. The strange cries from the Hook Tribe intensified their anxiety, making them unwilling to stop and fight back.
If it were direct orders from officers, it would be better. The military command is absolute, and the troops would obey. However, this Commander and the retreating troops belonged to different units and had no hierarchy. The panicked defeated troops wouldn't listen and continued withdrawing. This ssed up the formation of the resting troops. The Commander wanted to directly use machine guns on the defeated troops and then instruct his troops to counterattack, but dared not give that order.
Being disrupted by the defeated troops ant the inability to counterattack. Staying ant waiting to die, and sweeping away the defeated troops to avoid being impacted was not an order he could give. Helplessly, the Commander ordered his troops to retreat as well. Night combat already tests psychological quality, and the cost of being defeated like a landslide was terrifying.
Luo Zheng led the troops in a fierce charge without any intention of stopping. When he noticed more enemy troops joining the fleeing ranks, he guessed that other enemy units were being dragged into the defeat and was overjoyed. He imdiately instructed through the earpiece: "Ghost Hand, Snow Bear, quickly join the pursuit. Wei Jian, have your n bombard from behind, create chaos, expand the victory, and teach the enemy a lesson."
"Yes." Everyone roared, joining the pursuit.
Chasing all the way, the enemy ran even faster. For the Hook Tribe, this kind of easy victory was very smooth. Individually, they howled in the dense forest like a pack of hunting wolves, constantly attacking and hunting targets. The night vision greatly benefited ard personnel, and familiarity with the forest made everyone run faster.
Five or six minutes into the chase, dense gunfire suddenly erupted ahead. Nurous firepower poured in indiscriminately, attacking without distinction between friend and foe. The fleeing enemies up front scrambled to lie down. Seeing this, Luo Zheng was shocked and quickly ordered his troops to stop the pursuit and conceal themselves to counterattack.
In battle, Luo Zheng grimly observed using the sniper scope, discovering trenches and defensive positions dug up ahead, with three heavy machine guns firing crosswise. Instantly infuriated, he shouted: "Mountain Eagle Team, take out the enemy heavy machine guns imdiately, everyone else counterattack on the spot."
"Yes," everyone shouted loudly.
"Shoo, shoo, shoo!" Three sniper rifle shots rang out, and the enemy's heavy machine guns fell silent. But more machine gun and rifle shots rang out, bullets densely ford a terrifying net of firepower in the night sky, slicing through like Death God's scythe. Luo Zheng was shocked and quickly concealed himself.
"This is the enemy's second-line position, possibly the front enemy command post. Many enemies, can't rush forward anymore," Lan Xue urgently shouted.
"Understood," Luo Zheng shouted back: "Wei Jian, target ahead and bombard fiercely. When the missiles go off, everyone retreat quickly, forbidden to engage further."
"Yes," everyone roared in angry agreent, unwilling but understanding the need to withdraw. The enemy had solid defenses ahead, and persisting would an heavy casualties.
"Boom, boom, boom!" Countless Red Banner Six Missiles whistled away, precision striking the enemy's trenches, creating massive fireballs that illuminated the surroundings. The huge explosion shockwave sent everyone flying, and fragnts wreaked havoc around, making sharp whistling sounds, extrely terrifying, followed by endless screams.
The troops quickly withdrew amidst the chaos caused by the explosions. Each person grimly traversed through the forest, the missed opportunity to expand the victory fueling further frustration. Luo Zheng coldly glanced at the enemy position, noticing large groups rushing forward, soon to respond. He sighed helplessly and quickly retreated.
Everyone quickly returned to their base, and Luo Zheng frowned at the worn-down position, swiftly instructing everyone to repair trenches in preparation for another battle. Hook passed the orders down, and everyone quickly began to act. Beside him, Lan Xue looked around and spoke deeply: "The enemy has been temporarily repelled, might not attack again tonight, but we must remain vigilant."
"Indeed, with such a big operation from the enemy, they won't just leave it incomplete; surely they won't give up," Luo Zheng replied solemnly, tiger eyes blazing, glancing around the position and sternly ordering: "Ghost Hand, Snow Leopard Brothers, lead your n 200 ters out and set up traps, use half of the Button Bombs, remotely detonate."
"Understood!" Ghost Hand and Snow Leopard agreed, exchanged a glance, and quickly took their teams up.
"What can we do?" Hook asked quietly.
"Help the guard team repair the fortifications," Luo Zheng looked at the battlefield, with reserve and defense troops repairing fortifications, and many wounded in need of care, manpower was lacking. After Hook agreed, Luo Zheng turned to Mountain Eagle, instructing: "Brother, lead your n to vigil up front, notify imdiately if there's enemy movent."
"Understood." Mountain Eagle readily agreed, waved a big hand, and a dozen soldiers in camouflage suits quickly disappeared into the surrounding forest, heading swiftly towards the enemy's direction, soon vanishing into the night forest.
"The counterattack just now caught the enemy off guard, they should have lost over 300 n, impacting their morale. If soone sniped important enemy targets overnight, causing chaos, it might slow their night assault, why not let Mountain Eagle's n handle assassinations around the enemy camp?" Lan Xue suggested.
Luo Zheng's eyes lit up, smiled: "Good idea, long-distance sniping is the best way to create turmoil and panic. As long as daylight cos, the trenches here can be repaired, and the troops can regain so strength, it works. Mountain Eagle, do you hear?"
"Received," Mountain Eagle's voice sounded in the earpiece.
"Brother Li, notify the other three divisions, send scouts 30 kiloters ahead to search, to prevent the enemy from diverting forces. I can't believe the enemy isn't scheming with such a desperate effort, this place can hold," Luo Zheng calmly instructed, eyes shining with war spirit under the night sky.
"Just trenches alone might not hold," Lan Xue reminded.
"We brought ten Red Banner Six units this ti; missile count is limited, only holding for a while. Brother Li, arrange to send another batch of missiles for reserve. The enemy is crazy, we must prepare more. I'll go find Hook to arrange n to bring it over. Also, notify the holand for another airdrop of land mines and missiles for reserve; enemy artillery is too fierce, can't be ignored," Luo Zheng cautiously said.
"Understood." Captain Li quickly agreed.
Luo Zheng imdiately found Hook to explain the situation, Hook agreed, liaising with counterparts in the guarding regint, arranging a troop to bring missiles. The missiles were airdropped from ho, limited in number, but this battle was crucial, and Luo Zheng was going all out.
