The vast snowfield was under a clear sky, but the air was bone-chilling, almost as if it could freeze one's thoughts, while the cold wind swept past, carrying countless snowflakes with it. Silence surrounded the area. Just monts ago, the fiercely raging battle between enemies had led both sides to cautiously take cover, all eyes fixed on the slope. On the battlefield, a sniper could change the outco of an encounter, and no one dared overlook that. Everyone was trying to figure out what had just happened.

Luo Zheng calmly observed the battlefield and showed the first hint of a smile in days. As long as he didn't fire, he estimated that neither side would dare to make a move. Who would foolishly pop their head out and invite death? He also patiently waited. Before long, the pursuers began to move, splitting into two groups—with half attacking those being pursued and the other half starting to suppress the slope with firepower.

"Ratatata!" Bullets densely struck the rocks, sending sparks flying. Luo Zheng's hiding spot was exceptionally well chosen—bullets couldn't reach him. Glancing at a nearby corpse with a communicator hanging from its ear, he concluded that the recent silence was probably the enemy checking the situation, and when they received no response from their own man, they decisively opened fire.

"What a pity, had it not been for those three shots earlier, I could have easily taken down at least two more," Luo Zheng sighed helplessly. Seeing his locked target not moving, he imdiately searched for another target, who was lying on the ground firing, with most of his head exposed.

If everyone were on flat ground, that half head wouldn't be visible. But Luo Zheng, from his high and advantageous position with a broad view, quickly aid at his target and decisively struck. Three months of painstaking training by the seaside at night had elevated Luo Zheng's sniper skills by a tier, making such a stationary target no pressure at all.

"Woosh!" Another headshot.

Luo Zheng reloaded his gun, ready to fire again, and quickly scanned through the sniper scope. He noticed that all the pursuers were tightly hidden and difficult to hit. Reluctantly observing the surrounding terrain, he considered changing his sniping position but found no better option, so he continued to lie in wait.

The recent shot, however, served as a wake-up call for those being pursued. They instantly reacted, turning their guns away from the slope and focusing fire in another direction. This shift turned the hunter completely into the hunted, caught in a pincer attack, and after a burst of gunfire, two more careless pursuers lay in pools of blood.

Luo Zheng quickly spotted another target and fired decisively, scoring another headshot. As he searched for more targets, he saw the pursuers beginning to retreat thodically, covering fire in shifts, retreating quickly. Luo Zheng sneered, thinking no matter how fast they ran, they couldn't outrun a bullet, and imdiately began searching for more targets.

"Woosh!" Luo Zheng aid at a target and decisively fired, hitting the opponent's thigh this ti. Through the sniper scope, Luo Zheng clearly saw a spray of blood as the target was knocked to the ground by a force as though hit by a high-speed train, unable to get up and emitting a scream.

Quickly, the target's comrades rushed forth, attempting to help him up, but Luo Zheng fired again—another headshot, spraying brain matter on the wounded man's face. The wounded man, face filled with sorrow, wiped the lting snow off his face, his eyes brimming with guilt and apology as he started wildly firing toward Luo Zheng's hidden position on the slope, disregarding his exposure.

This was a soldier resolved to die, a true military man. Luo Zheng thought admiringly and decisively shot him, hitting him right between the eyes, ending his life. Facing a real soldier, he should be treated with a soldier's respect, quickly shot dead—the best form of respect.

"Woosh!" Another shot. Luo Zheng took down the last person covering the retreat. The lucky targets who had escaped were now out of range, and firing again had no aning. He imdiately packed up his weapon, approached the fallen sniper, and without hesitation, quickly stripped off the man's combat suit and camouflage to change into them. The weather was too cold, and wearing an extra layer was good. Upon discovering an infrared concealed bulletproof vest on the fallen sniper, he unapologetically made it his own.

After changing clothes, Luo Zheng collected the army dagger and pistol from the body and started examining the contents of the man's backpack. It contained a laser optics sight, night vision goggles, a dical kit, a sleeping bag, ammunition specialized for sniper rifles, and compressed biscuits—but no communication devices.

Swiftly abandoning his original backpack, Luo Zheng shouldered the new one—this equipnt was too good to pass up. He then picked up the man's helt and put it on. As for the body, he let it return to the dust and soil. Luo Zheng pulled off the man's dog tag and saw, to his surprise, it was from Arctic Bear Country. Instantly, he rembered this land neighbored Arctic Bear Country but wondered, "What were they doing here?".

"Don't shoot, brother across! Who are you?" a voice shouted.

When Luo Zheng heard the voice, which he found very familiar, he was shocked. He turned the sniper rifle around and looked through the scope. Soon, he spotted soone hiding behind a rock and shouting. Although he couldn't see the person's face, the caution was appreciated. Without making a sound, he decided to watch a bit longer.

"If you don't want to reveal yourself, that's fine. Thank you very much for your help. We're going to pull back now. I hope you won't shoot," the voice continued, but it didn't seem they were actually retreating; clearly, they were waiting for a response.

Listening to the familiar voice, Luo Zheng suddenly recalled soone and couldn't help but laugh, "The world is indeed small; I didn't expect to encounter him here." Then, loudly, he shouted, "Gangzi, is that you? You son of a turtle, co out here, let see if it's really you."

"Captain?" The voice shouted in surprise and then quickly darted out from behind the rock, a look of joy spreading across his face.

"Haha, indeed, it's you guys! Who else is there? Co on out, all of you," Luo Zheng called out, peering through the sniper scope and indeed seeing his old comrades, mbers of the Ghost Team. His mood lifted enormously, sweeping away the grievances he had been harboring these past days as he excitedly charged down the slope at great speed.

"It's the captain." Zhou Gang and the others also rushed up excitedly—a battlefield reunion with brothers is a cause for great joy.

"Gangzi, Xunzi, Binzi, Yuanzi, all of you?" Luo Zheng called out joyfully.

As everyone gathered, Zhou Gang and the others, suppressing their elation, saluted Luo Zheng solemnly, grateful for his lifesaving actions. Luo Zheng waved his hands impatiently and said, "Cut the formalities, what's really going on here? How did you end up here? Since when did Ghost Team get chased down?"

"Don't bla them, kid; it's all my fault. I gave the wrong command," a familiar voice said. Luo Zheng looked past everyone with surprise and suspicion, spotting Shan Hu from the old Special Warfare Team, and was montarily stunned. He suddenly rembered the man who had been covering their retreat. Seeing Shan Hu had been shot in the leg, Luo Zheng hurried over and asked, "Brother, how are you?"

"I'm okay, just a graze. It's all thanks to you shooting that damned Sniper in ti, or else all of us brothers might have been done for here," Shan Hu said, feeling guilty.
