The avalanche lasted a full half hour before it stopped. Everyone cautiously ca out of their hiding places and approached the edge to look down the cliff. Below were mounds of snow nearly a hundred ters thick. A large amount of snow had slid into the distance, forming a slope. They carefully checked above, and no more snow fell. Luo Zheng glanced at everyone and shouted, "All right, the avalanche is over. Is everyone okay?"
"We're fine," everyone replied while shaking their heads to clear the dizziness. The enormous roar caused by the avalanche was terrifying. Thankfully, they knew so self-rescue techniques, or it would have been much worse.
"That's good. What should we do next?" Luo Zheng shouted.
"It's our brothers' turn to show their power. Kill the old Russkis," Monk yelled.
"Kill the old Russkis," everyone shouted in unison, their morale soaring once again. Having survived the avalanche, they were emboldened and resolute, their eyes burning with a fervent desire for battle.
"Good, follow my command," Luo Zheng bellowed with boiling blood, his eyes blazing with battle spirit as he surveyed everyone. Hearing the excited voices of Zhou Gang and others, he continued, "The old Russkis are rampant, thinking they can pick on our Huaxia land with no one to defend it. They chase us but what of it? They are still led by the nose by us. Now, it's ti to teach them a lesson. They claim to be experts in snow combat, don't they? We will show them who truly are the masters of snow warfare."
"Attack!" the crowd roared with overwhelming energy.
"Scholar, those two enemy scouts are yours to handle; the rest, follow and kill the Russkis," Luo Zheng roared, his murderous intent palpable as he charged downward. Jumping down, he landed on the slope and slid rapidly toward the base of the cliff, the others quickly following, howling fiercely with equal ferocity.
"Brothers, follow !" Scholar shouted loudly, leading his squad toward the gorge entrance, charging madly.
The crowd shouted wildly like rolling thunder, venting their resentnt from the past days. The fierce intensity of their charge pierced the cold world. Disclosing one's identity before battle was generally unwise, but Luo Zheng was unconcerned. The two enemy scouts were not a concern. They had been chased around the mountain by the enemy, nearly dead several tis, all boiling with a fierce rage. Letting it out was good for morale and made them run faster.
"Brothers, follow !" Scholar was shouting from behind the Huaxia cliffs, leading his squad toward the gorge entrance, charging and firing as they went. Their precise bursts of gunfire targeted the ice house, pressing down hard on the two enemy scouts who had rushed out upon hearing their shouts.
From afar, Luo Zheng saw a lot of ice and snow flowing out of Eagle Worry Gorge, completely blocking its entrance with a fifty-ter high slope. He shouted loudly, leading the others as they charged over, anwhile asking through his headset, "Ghost Team, report your situation."
"Captain, it's exhilarating! All brothers are fine, just the wind at the summit is too strong, and it's really cold," Zhou Gang replied cheerfully. The Ghost Team, hidden at the summit providing long-range sniper support and igniting explosives, had played a decisive role in this battle, earning them great acclaim. As a mber of the Ghost Team, Zhou Gang was very grateful to Luo Zheng for setting the stage for his brothers' performance.
"Glad to hear it's all good. Can you still manage?" Luo Zheng asked, relieved.
"No problem, we are Ghost Team. Ghosts strike, and where they strike, they conquer. Captain, give the order." Zhou Gang said solemnly as others also indicated they were ready, waiting for the order.
"Good, the ti to counterattack has co. Everyone, charge and kill those Russians!" Luo Zheng ordered.
"Kill!" Ghost Team roared in response.
Luo Zheng led everyone to the entrance of the gorge, which had been blocked by snow, making it impassable on foot. Luo Zheng's sharp eyes spotted a slope connecting to the gorge entrance where the snow had fallen away, revealing the bare mountain. It was manageable to cross carefully, so he imdiately started climbing up the mountain, and everyone quickly followed.
After the Scholar and his n had killed those two enemy scouts, they too climbed up. Luo Zheng was the first to ascend, using both hands and feet to quickly climb up the exposed rocks of the mountain's face, agile as a civet. Soon, they reached the middle of the mountain and, seeing the gorge filled with blocks of snow, were deeply moved.
"Captain, it's estimated that thirteen enemies have escaped. Ghost Team is in pursuit." A voice rang out in the headset, but the wind was too strong to hear clearly. Luo Zheng cupped his earpiece to ask again, and after getting a clear response, he shouted to those behind him, "Fellows, move quickly! Ghost Team has already caught up; if we're late, they'll get all the credit."
Hearing this, everyone imdiately sped up. Faced with honor and credit, no one wanted to fall behind. They advanced along the mid-mountain ridge, and twenty-so minutes later, they bypassed the snow-filled Eagle Worry Gorge, erging onto an open hilltop. Gunshots ahead signaled that Ghost Team had engaged the enemy; everyone rushed down from the ridgeline, howling as they charged forward.
Soon, they saw bodies on the ground, and with gunfire continuing in the distance, they all charged forward, howling, not needing any encouragent from Luo Zheng. Seeing everyone's high morale, Luo Zheng laughed, saw Shan Hu tiptoeing behind, and quickly stepped forward to support him, apologizing with a smile, "Old bro ca too! I was inconsiderate and forgot to tell you to stay behind."
"What nonsense are you spouting? If I missed such a big scene, I'd never be at peace for the rest of my life. Quit talking, and let's kill those Russians!" Shan Hu said fiercely, his face flush with excitent, his whole being overly agitated.
"Let them handle it. The remaining enemies are too frightened to be a threat," Luo Zheng reassured.
"Don't try to stop ; keep it up, and I'll charge you. How can I miss out on a counterattack battle?" Shan Hu said, then, tiptoeing, he sprinted forward, bouncing agilely like a kangaroo. Luo Zheng shook his head but was inwardly filled with fiery blood—what great brothers, what great warriors.
"Kill!" The other n howled as they went, fearing falling behind. In this final counterattack, no one wanted to stop. They shouted freely, releasing the murderous intent in their hearts. After days of tension and near-death experiences, they despised the enemy. Now, with the tables turned, they were not going to miss this chance for revenge.
Watching each warrior boil with fervor, Luo Zheng laughed heartily, hearing the increasing gunfire ahead and knew Ghost Team was on the enemy's tail. He was overjoyed and roared like the Wolf King, "Brothers, if we're late, there'll be no enemies left. Kill those Russians, charge!"
"Kill those Russians!" the warriors shouted as they rushed past, their spirits soaring, their battle intent boiling.
