The warriors' enthusiasm was thoroughly ignited as they dashed forward, howling loudly, fearing they would be too late and all the enemies would have been wiped out. They exhibited unprecedented passion and speed. By the ti Luo Zheng rushed to the front, the battle had already entered its final phase, with just a handful of three or four people still putting up a desperate resistance. The soldiers flanked them from both sides, a barrage of firepower suppressing them, complented by the sniper's precise shooting, which wiped out all the remaining enemies.
"Did we win?" Luo Zheng asked incredulously as he looked at the bodies strewn across the ground and heard the excited cheers of the soldiers, and walked over. Seeing Luo Zheng approach, the soldiers ceased their cheering, lining up in two rows, solemnly saluting Luo Zheng to express their respect. Luo Zheng's unorthodox tactical command had allowed everyone to eliminate enemies they thought were impossible to defeat, shaking and thrilling everyone.
Facing five hundred enemies adept at snow warfare, everyone had originally held no hope and had even prepared for sacrifice. Unexpectedly, they had won without losing a single person. Such a result, such a feat, was unbelievable to everyone. They held Luo Zheng in high esteem, who was responsible for the command; even Song Li solemnly saluted Luo Zheng, acknowledging his command ability despite personal animosities.
"Brothers, well done." Luo Zheng exclaid excitedly, his voice echoing through the valley, stirring people's blood.
Everyone lowered their arms, standing uniformly, their gaze eagerly on Luo Zheng, hoping he would glance their way, even if just with an encouraging look. Unfortunately, Luo Zheng, filled with doubts, didn't have the chance to look at everyone as he hurried forward to the bodies and crouched to check them.
"What's wrong?" The Scholar keenly sensed sothing was off and rushed up to quietly ask.
"Among these people are mbers of the Snow Bear Special Forces, the strongest unit of the Arctic Bear. They shouldn't have been so easily killed. I'm worried there might be fish that slipped through the net," Luo Zheng said softly, his eyes becoming puzzled as he looked at the bodies.
"Do you see?" The Scholar pointed at the bodies and said, "They are bleeding from their orifices to varying degrees, obviously having internal injuries, likely caused by the terrifying sonic boom of an avalanche. That they could still run out in such a severely wounded state shows their fearso strength. Additionally, their desperate flight eradicated their combat will, making it reasonable for our brothers to have killed them. Perhaps they were just ordinary soldiers, and the Snow Bear Special Forces mbers might have been at the front of their formation and were buried by the avalanche."
"You make a good point. Let's leave them be, for we have won this battle, and that's what matters," Luo Zheng stood up, his gaze steely as he looked towards the north, the region they had narrowly escaped from with their lives. Now, at last, they could safely return ho. His expression softened, and he smiled gently, feeling grateful to be alive.
"What next?" The Scholar quietly reminded.
Luo Zheng snapped out of it, looked back at everyone waiting for his command, quickly composed himself, and with a stern face, declared, "Brothers, this battle has demonstrated our national might. You've done well, and I am proud to have had the opportunity to fight alongside you."
"Salute!" The Scholar called out loudly, looking at Luo Zheng, expressing his respect in a military manner.
"Shush!" Everyone solemnly saluted Luo Zheng, their gaze earnest.
"At ease." Luo Zheng called out calmly, his eyes briefly flicking to the south before returning, and he loudly commanded, "Listen to my order, Gardener, lead the way, brothers, let's go ho."
"Ho." Everyone cheered.
The team ford a long line, supporting each other as they walked forward. They bypassed Eagle Worry Gorge through the flanks of the hills and continued onward out of the gorge. With the enemy eliminated, there was no need to march hurriedly. Luo Zheng fell behind the rest of the team, becoming reflective. He hadn't expected to actually make it back alive and wondered how Lan Xue and the others were doing.
Thinking of this, Luo Zheng dialed the headquarters' phone. The battle had ended, and it was ti to report. The headquarters, monitoring through satellites, had detected the avalanche and thought that Luo Zheng and his team had been sacrificed. Hearing the call, Captain Wu anxiously asked, "Is that you? What happened, why was there an avalanche?"
"It's , the avalanche was our doing. We buried the enemy in the gorge. The few who were lucky enough to escape were also pursued and killed by our army. In this battle, our army achieved complete victory," Luo Zheng said, feeling a surge of pride well up inside him. What could over five hundred enemies do? As long as tactics were properly employed, they could be annihilated all the sa.
"What?" Captain Wu was taken aback, and then overjoyed, he exclaid, "That's great, I knew you, lad, had strong luck, a blessed general who wouldn't die."
"Who the hell said I was dead?" Luo Zheng said discontentedly.
"Uh? It was , it's good you're fine, I'll comnd you," the Group Army Commander said sowhat awkwardly, but he was straightforward.
"Commander, sorry, I didn't know it was you, sir," Luo Zheng quickly apologized, feeling embarrassed.
"You've got guts, lad. However, I won't hold your disrespectful words against you anymore. Just make sure to bring all the brothers safely back. How bad are the losses from this battle?" the Commander said discontentedly. By the end, his tone beca heavier, filled more with worry than dissatisfaction. Special Forces training is not easy, and we cannot afford to lose a single one.
"Reporting to the Commander, not a single one missing, just a minor scrape on Shan Hu earlier, no big issue," Luo Zheng replied with strong confidence.
"Not a single one missing? Just one injury?" The Commander had braced himself for losing more than half, given the enemy's strength of over five hundred and the formidable Snow Bear Special Forces. Such an outco, to suffer more than half losses, would have been acceptable, yet to have everyone unscathed was a complete victory. Believing that Luo Zheng wouldn't lie, he excitedly exclaid, "Good, lad, you've made proud. We'll hold a celebration for you when you return."
"Thank you, Commander," Luo Zheng replied. After a mont, he asked, "Captain, she's alright, isn't she?"
"Don't worry, she's fine. She ntioned discovering so situations and said she'll wait for you to co back to deal with them together. She promised not to act on her own, so you can focus on your mission. I'll let her know about your situation so she can also be relieved," Captain Wu said cheerfully.
After hanging up the phone, Luo Zheng looked southward, his determined expression tinged with worry. Luo Zheng knew Lan Xue too well; discovering a situation ant she wouldn't sit still, and taking action ant danger. Luo Zheng wasn't afraid of Lan Xue facing danger; a military death wrapped in a horsehide was a great honor, but he feared sothing happening to her when he wasn't by her side.
"Die, but die together," Luo Zheng thought to himself, his joy replaced by anxiety. Looking towards the vast snowfield ahead, he hated that he couldn't imdiately rush out to return to Lan Xue's side.
Scholar and a few other team leaders keenly noticed sothing was off with Luo Zheng. Shan Hu said in a low voice, "Brother, is there a problem? We are brothers who share life and death. Just give the word, and we are ready to go through fire and water, no questions asked."
"Yes, if you need help, just say it," Scholar and the others echoed in unison, their gazes sincere.
